@dralexryan but i fear the side effects. i think personally i'll wait till the medicine is advanced a little bit more and will reduce the side effects. the current state of drugs and drug industry is not acceptable to me - they really failed to help ( in my experience). yet, i do not blame people who take them, and i'm happy when i hear they helped people and changed their lives. ultimately, people search for what works. there shouldn't be any shaming.
@dralexryan the issues were still there, it became even worse. i didn't feel mentally better but i had energy - enough energy to attempt suicide. it was aweful, but, fortunately, i am still here. i guess depressed people are depleted for a reason. i made my choice not to take antidepressants anymore and to try and solve my problems through therapy and positive thinking. it's challenging and is like a ping pong match. still, i do not mind the idea of drugs and antidepressants,
@dralexryan *sighs* this is such a hard topic. ok, i kind of see where you're comming from. you're afraid people who have conditions like severe chronic depression or worse will be refused antidepressants and be harmed. i don't want it either. i've no medical training, but, i can talk of my own experience - i'm chronically depressed, and i was on antidepressants, and i felt many side effects. specifically - they did "elevate" my mood, or give me more energy, but because the issues were

Thank you so much for these valuable postings. I feel so fortunate that I can watch them. I'm in New Zealand and have been trying to spread NVC. NVC definitely help us become more compassionate to both ourselves and others, by knowing giving is the same as receiving.

I share the same goal of rebelling to reward, punishment, good, bad, right, and wrong, and duty and obligation. Marshall Rosenburg is on song with this philosophy and the jackal is the conscience of how we are taught to behave from our parents and teachers. The Giraffe is a great way forward but if its not a dialogue shared, then the untrained jackal may think you are slightly mad at first because of universal teachings of how to behave like the jackal.
Thanks for posting this, free access to an entire workshop run by Marshall is much appreciated. I am however a bit surprised by one thing: when people in the audience ask a question he rarely let's them finish. While he probably guesses the wide majority of his audience's questions, he may not always have been right and I find these interruptions somehow at odd with 'empathic' listening.
total agreement here , this way of thinking is crucial if we're want to bring about change in the system for the better , and while i fully agree with that kind of thinking for giving not to put the receiver in dept (unless due to current way things are it effects my own sustainability of living , like not being stingy with food) , im still big on the concept of right and wrongness , in the sense of wastefulness factual accuracy....
What touches me most, is that he is saying we can have the connection of "natural giving and receiving" any time and with any person! I have experienced the process of NVC to solve so many of my inner/outer conflicts! Thanks for uploading the workshop!

my big issue is i have anxiety about people. I keep thinking everyone is going to laugh at me etc.
I fele this is what gets in my way of effectively communicating with others.
