I've worked on and off in construction, let me tell you.... you may make 15/hour, but the expenses that go with working in construction isn't worth it, the rugged assholes you deal with on a day to day basis... isn't worth it... the small talk low life mentality... isn't worth it... the dirty illegal immigrants... isn't worth it... using a port-a-potty that smells like hell from down under.... isn't worth it... days you get your hours screwed on... isn't worth it...
Nothing unusual here. Like most hands-on trades, it's not glamorous and it's hard work. But if you're good at it, it can be very lucrative. Not everyone is cut out to be a plumber, but then not everyone is college grad material either. A young person today has just as much income earning opportunity with a tech school degree or an occupational trade (like plumbing) as with a BS degree - maybe more. Next time your shitter overflows, take a close look at the plumber's bill - then do the math.
Students are so indifferent to the real world, it is funny. Their parents are retards too. Lol, since when does a fucking degree acquired from an environment that pushes alcoholism, promiscuous behaviour, and endless partying provide anything that will help a man survive or better himself in the real world? You see the world is not thinking straight. Something is broken, and guys like the man in this video are fixing it. Just sad that there arent more of him around..
Ha ha ha He is making a LOT OF MONEY even if the work is consistent. My uncle is a plumber and he has a mini mansion. And honestly even with the economy being messed up he still gets CONSTANT WORK. leaks dont stop people are idots and havnt a clue on how to do it themselves. Its dirty work but my uncle makes 90 dollers an hour and more for bigger jobs. Think about it
$68 dollars an hour sounds great, but he does not get jobs every hour, so it averages out. If you work for a corporation you work 8 hours continuously, so the hourly rate is a little deceiving. Let's stick to annual wages rather than hourly rates.
@MusicforMe123 are you stupid or just looking to justify the time you're wasting sitting on a college chair? if one wants to work more, he just seeks out more costumers and therefore work harder so = more money
@DREwestcoast The stupid one is you if you believe he can maintain a $68 dollar an hour on a continuous basis. I like to see him fly from one job to another. $68 an hour is what he charges for the length of the job then he gets zero $ to travel from one job to another. The premise of the question was the inflated figure of $68 an hour when you have so much time in between for traveling and not receiving any money for it. It has nothing to do with more jobs you dumbass.
@MusicforMe123 'so much time for traveling'... really? do you know any interstate plumbers you dumb fucking hick? no, because they limit the travel to raise their profit, and the number of jobs only matter if his jobs are made quick
@MusicforMe123 stfu, he works for himself, meaning he probably has a registered business...at the end of the year the money he spent travelling is a write off.
@MusicforMe123 You stupid redneck! How can you be any farther from what I originally said. Travelling expense = driving his vehicle, business flights etc.
So the money he spends travelling, which is a PORTION of his income (i'm sorry I forgot percentages are foreign concepts to hillbillies), is tax deductible and at the end of the year he'll get a break. Man, you are so dumb I feel sorry for America.
@Chewy7771 I feel sorry for your stupid ass. I am not a redneck, but proud to be an American. I have never heard of anyone as you say take a business flight to fix someone's plumbing...LMAO, who is stupid now dumbass. I feel sorry for America if there are more idiots like you.
he is not lying about his hourly rate but is he pocketing 68 dollars an hour no he is self employed running a bussiness and there are costs is he making alot of money? Yes he is .
hello everybody, i want to know more info about this plumbing job, i was just calling a couple of unions and to sign up for an apprentice and they told me even though they get me in the waiting list i have to wait like 2-3 years in order to even start as an apprentice??!! wtf
so if any of you out there work as a plumber or anything that doesnt include that much college please contact me, im barely 20 years old and i dont want to waste my life going to school without knowing the possibilities.
Plumbing is a stinky job but it pays dam good, college degrees are obsolete the education system has not changed with the times technology has changed faster then govt, check out the article on MSN more people are opting out of college degrees it's not worth the time are the money are the debt.
same with alot of registered training organisations too.... I mean you could spend hundreds-thousands of dollars doing alot of short courses and even still not use them to get a job. Never has there been a better time in the past year for these places to crow on about upskilling and sucking people in to pay for training when in fact alot of people still don't get to use their licences or tickets.
I agree with this video, we need plumbers, ppl working at mcDonalds, and cleaning ass holes, to make the jobs other ppl don't wana do.
Now if your white, stop reading this!
You ppl from other countries need to take over the good jobs, you must go to college, since you can get loads more of money. a plumber in new york can make 80K+ and pay like 10% of it in taxes, a good job with a B.A.(S) can make 400K+ and 15% of those in taxes. a teacher makes 140k with 15% taxes.
Your a LIAR dude. You not NOT earn even half that teaching Spanish in frickin New Zealand you must think people are pretty stupid to believe that. Oh wait they are.
If he runs his own business of course he'd be getting $68 an hour. But then he has to pay for tools & running costs of his business which MBA's dont pay
And if he is travelling to different sites throughout the day then there might be 3 hours of time that is not chargeable to a client, therefore only having 4-5 chargeable hours a day.
5hrs * 68 = $340 a day
5days * 340 = $1700 a week
48working weeks * 1700 = $81,600
He then wouldn't get paid for holidays, sick leave, etc
If he's running his own business, it's not horse shit....I know a dude who makes $65/hr. , and another who makes $95. Using flat rates you can charge $200 for a job that would normally only take $100....that's where you can make the money. It depends on how you approach it.
Its the best online business out there! been around for 10 years and creates residual income and weekly bonuses.
ONLY 10 bucks a month but pays for it self!
you get your own website
I will personally show you how to create traffic and start making money and my videos PROVE its making people residual income and weekly bonuses I ALSO have VIDEO tutorials showing you step by step how to make money with this business
There is no way you make 20k per month as a plumber. That is complete horse shit. People LIE about thier incomes. They feel bad so they lie. It's that simple. 50k is the high end for plumbers. If you are self employed its a different story but even if you have a full book of business your not making 20k per month. Thats an upper upper level executives pay.
Theres nothing wrong with the concept of College. But it should always be viewed as an optional path and not a mandatory institution crammed down people's throats. We have to remember that this is America. This should be the land of individual ideas. Not the land that is obsessed with how many people went to an Ivy League school.
our wonderful service economy.. forget manufacturing.. who needs that ,.. let China make everything.. we can just buy everything from them like we do with oil from the arabs
Just depends on what you want to do. Though I think the college system is messed up and unfair, being the way it is, commonly, ppl won't be considered for their jobs if it weren't for a degree.

I'll try to become a plumber. $68/hr.? Math time:
$68 * 8hr/day = $544/day
$544 * 5days/wk = $2720
$2720 * 4 weeks = $10,880/month
$10,880/month * 12 months = $130,560
HOLY SHIT!!! I would be able to pay off my debt in a week!!! Fuck universities (reason why I'm in deep shit).
