  • Bob took one of Warhol's Marilyn prints and then later traded it for a couch...so they say

  • The story goes that Dylan more or less stole a Warhol silkscreen (of Marilyn?) right after this "screen test". When he was ready to leave, he grabbed the painting, muttering a few words like "can I take this?", as he walked out with it. Warhol was reportedly peeved but too docile to protest.

  • fuck this stupid shit......you're all fucking cunts!

  • J , I am selling my Jean Michel Basquiat drawings for cheap, first, then I will send you an image of the Marilyn,1967..all papers...I am not asking auction premiums...email me if you wish J...until we speak..L

  • o thought bob didn't agree with what warhol was doing.

  • He is there thanks to edie sedgwick

  • Oh how I wish this was in color. THOSE EYES.

  • He is the most beautiful man who has been ... I'm so in love with him, that face so beautiful, I love and I love his lyrics and his wit and his melodies ...

  • Dylan traded the big painting Warhol gave him for a second hand sofa. Kudos!

  • he was hot :3

  • hehe

  • Bob Dylan is super great.

    But he has long nails.

And i mean very long nails, hihi

  • @TheEmsann yeah it's for playing guitar

  • No disrespect to the Velvet Underground, but mute this video, and play Like a Rolling Stone while watching this.

  • I think this video really works, interesting...

  • He's got a very beautiful face.

  • musique inadaptée !

  • Bob Dylan was one beautiful kid...

  • The Velvet Underground reflects the spirit of the Warhol factory and his Screen Tests more than a Bob Dylan song could.

  • He looks as bored as I do when someone plays one of his crappy overrated songs.

  • @nevadakubrick crappy? overrated? shut up u fucking idiot!!!

  • @nevadakubrick you are so stupid

  • A couple things

    1) Dylan did Heroin, and was friends with Lou Reed. This song works.

    2) The nails are for guitar. His chording hand's fingers are neatly cut.

    3) I wonder how many people have masturbated to this.

  • @doctormarmalade ur the kinda person who wonders how many people masturbated to their egg salad

  • @doctormarmalade no heroin ....he did pils though

  • @jesdebest yea he did do heroin. There's that famous clip of him and John lennon both strung out in the backseat of a limo.

  • @83zzw83 Yeah I know that one , always thought he had a shitload of alcohol and the usual amount of pills (same pils as J.Cash used to do) ..but you could be right. He was really waisted that`s for sure! (-;

  • @doctormarmalade At least one. ;)

  • I love the way he kind of rolls his eyes and shakes his head slightly at 1:26. It's like, what am I doin' here, man...

    Nice video, thanks!

  • I love his young face.

  • why put a velvet underground song on a bob dylan video

  • @jjay75 To create the factory's ambiance ?

  • @jjay75 And I think a bob dylan's song wouldn't have been appropriated because he was in the Factory and it was more Andy's culture which was "imposed" to Bob at this moment, more over because he did not like his culture.

  • @jjay75 Do your research....

  • @jjay75 andy warhol's project

  • To me this screen test shows the boredom of Dylan. Not sad, yet not happy. Just bored. Sitting there. Being filmed. Bored.

  • what's the name of the song??? thanks!

  • @meini00iniem heroin by the velvet underground.

  • Like a lot of people have said before me: WHY do you play Heroin by The Velvet Underground???? This is Lou Reed singing, not Bob Dylan.

  • @MowgliX its a doors song! dah fuck.

  • @96mrweed WRONG

  • @headly66 /watch?v=9y-a9wZ96KA lol i have the record

  • @96mrweed The record of what? This is the Velvet Underground playing Heroin from side two of The Velvet Underground & Nico from 1967.

Not the Doors, the link you gave is to another idiot who doesn't know music.

  • @96mrweed

    /watch?v=6xcwt9mSbYE

  • @MowgliX No, it's Heroin by The Velvet Underground, written by Lou Reed in 1964, and played by Lou Reed, John Cale, Stirling Morrison and Moe Tucker. Released in 1967 on the Velvet Underground's first album. The Doors and Jim Morrison had nothing to do with it, except that the song is featured in the 1991 Oliver Stone movie, The Doors.

  • @MowgliX Because Andy Warhol helped put together the Velvet Underground and Nico pretty much.

  • @headly66 Yes, that's absolutely one hundred percent correct. But this is Bob Dylan's screen test, not Lou Reed's.

  • @MowgliX It was shot with no sound so I guess the poster could put the Flintstones theme song on it if they wanted to.

  • @headly66 Oh yes. Or use Like a Rolling Stone with the Lou Reed screen test.

  • @mistabook What the hell? Why was this marked as spam? btw, what I said was, "That is a guy who wants a cigarette."

  • sad eyed lady of the lowlands

  • why are they playing Heroin? that's a velvet underground song.

  • @MrPeguin666 Well it is at the Factory

  • @MrPeguin666 its the doors..

  • @96mrweed no it's not

  • @96mrweed No it's not. VU

  • yeah he was very handsome.. beautiful eyes

  • Seeing Dylan live in Evansville in August.

  • @MrFfuckUp Bob dylans voice is gone :/

  • @MOLSVIN Still wanna see him

  • Wow, a bored dude. Fucking genius, Warhola!

  • Aaaawww!!!! he looks so cute and vulnerable here!

  • they chose the velvet underground track because it came off the album andy warhol produced, "the velvet underground and nico." it fits the mood of the video.

  • Check out those nails at 1:03!

  • @jimalice1 Haha, hey, he plays the guitar

  • I have no idea what Dylan's intentions were, whether he was trying diligently to save her or he just wanted to bang her. If he wants to be secretive about it, that's his business.

  • You showed me the quotation and I offered my opinion. If you don't like my peaches, don't shake my tree.

  • If Dylan said that he thought maybe he knew people who might have been involved with her, he wasn't being forthright. That Edie had a love affair with Dylan's best friend Bob Neuwirth is a hard fact. Maybe Dylan was embarrassed by what happened, which would put him a notch above Warhol, who apparently had no shame whatsoever.

  • @bathroommonkey76 Not at all. Actually that's from Bob Dylan. He used the rather large print Two Elvises as a dart board. But I still don't know why the Bobby Dylan screen test is accompanied by Lou Reed song.

  • @MowgliX He gave the Elvis print to his manager Albert Grossman for a sofa. He didn't destroy it.

  • I love how the majority of the comments on here have more to do with the film "Factory Girl" then reality.

  • did anyone else notice how long his nails are at 1:04?

  • @MrPsychoSquid Wow! Those things rival claws. What's the use of those? Allows for easier guitar playing?

  • @huskyjerk yeah. most likely for classical guitar playing.

  • Why is this accompanied by a Lou Reed song, "Heroin", and not a song by Bob Dylan? Dylan was a greedy bastard. He took a huge print by Andy Warhol called Two Elvises, probably worth a fortune today, as payment for this three-minute screen test, and then destroyed it by using it as a dart board. I never liked him, though some of his songs are great.

  • I guess if there was Dylan accompaniment Sony (SME) would nuke this video.

  • Andy´s exhibition Bob comments to Edie: “I think this guy have completely changed the priorities here…. when our boys are dying at Vietnam this he is showing supermarket stuff)” (Soap and Cams)…. this phrase reveals the character (moral quality) of Bob instead of Andy whom are only looking for Vanities (Vanity Fair Magazine)….as a results….Edie and Andy had an early putrefied dead… // Ishma

  • pushing by Andy to see the its effects and make his shit movies…like all of his woks….fake….he was a farce…of course…definitely Bob was, the opposite , he suddenly catch this evil environment…hence is easy to perceive his discomfort at Andy´s camera…he only did that, faced Andy, because of Edie…but it didn’t work out…We might know the horrible destine of Edie… // Ishma

  • Thank go, one lucid person whom puts the right words, .Bob only appears at Factory cause of Edie Sedwick, .He even have tried to save her from the evil influences from Andy, but couldn’t, Edie, like ever pinup girls just want limelight and Andy was a master of produce fake thing, like a mirror image, this was the vanishing point that Edie was looking for,and Bob was offering love, live, light, and unfortunately she was looking dark, death, crazy, drugs, till she became addicted in heroin// Ishma

  • I just watched the movie Factory Girl...really sad...makes you think...we are so lucky to be normal!

  • I saw the movie...really sad..makes you think how lucky we are just to be normal!

  • Here's the thing about this vid, i watched this over ten times and always watched the whole thing.(with no sound) and when you think about it ,its just a person sttting in a chair. and i love it. that just proves that Bob Dylan can do any thing and we'll love it

  • I COULD WATCH THIS FOREVER HE LOOKS SO CUTE AND SEXY!!! WITH THOSE EYES, MESSY HAIR THOSE BOB DYLAN LIPS..MMMMM...

I WISH THEY WOULD HAVE PLAYED A BOB DYLAN'S "I WANT YOU" BUT I STILL GIVE IT A THUMBS UP BOB IS SO CUTE!!!

  • i feel like i'm the only one who loves the music with this :U

  • I love being able to see this, but it should be watched with the sound OFF. Thank you so much for posting this!

  • well hi, sexy eyes

  • 0:46 "how much longer?" eyes

  • Twisted and distorted sh*t right there........who sits for darn near 4 mins doing nothing while being video recorded? COMPLEXITY. So handsome what a shame.....On YT search: "Bob Dylan Admits He Sold His Soul to the Devil" and how he's still holding up his end of the bargain.

  • @mssquirrely warhol wouldn't give a shit of what you think. for he's the actual artist.

  • @lancewdepunk0 - He never said he was an artist.....lmao! He said, "Art - is what's ACCEPTED".....So!! You accept this as ART and unlike you I DON'T so now what!.......lol! In your mind he may be the actual artist but I determine in my mind who's the artist by what I see and or like.....GOT IT AZZHOLE! So if a man staring in a camera doing absolutely nothing is ART to you then fine, good for you.

  • @mssquirrely What does Wikipedia say?......" American painter, printmaker, and filmmaker who was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as pop art." Collective consciousness will always rule out your personal reality.

  • @mssquirrely The Mona Lisa has been sitting stationary for 500 years, but I don't see you complaining about that. At least this thing moves. Way more interesting to look at compared to that shit brown stain on the walls of the Louvre.

  • Why the nails are so big?

  • @rocknrollforever10 Acrylic nails for guitarplaying, I assume :)

  • The video is great.

    The music is too.

    But they are mis-matched.

    Seriously so.

  • @TerrySleeper I agree.

  • What song is playing in this video?

  • @sistahisme Heroin by the Velvet Underground

  • Comment removed

  • To me this screen test shows the dual nature of Dylan. Not sad, yet not happy. Not there, yet standing still. Restless yet deeply involved. He never did look back, but he never forgot where he was from. Dylan is the man.

  • I could gaze at his face all day...

  • I love Bobs hair, great period in his career, right around Highway 61.

  • Bob, looking sad, and very tense. He mentions Edie Sedgewick and Warhol in 'How Does it Feel' words to the effect: "...with your diplomat - who carried on his shoulder - a siamese cat. Isn't it a drag to discover that - he wasn't really where it's at. After he - stole - from - you - every - thing - he - could - steal?...."

  • Bob, looking sad, tense.

  • It's a long way from Hibbing

  • And I guess that I just don't know, and I guess that I just don't know....

  • Bob Dylan really didn't even like Andy Warhol.Even though he did date factory member, and muse Edie Sedgwick. To this day,he doesn't want to talk about his experiences with Edie Sedgwick,Warhol,or the Factory.he didn't think very highly of Warhol.he thought of him as a vampire.so,if you ever meet Dylan i suggest that you don't mention anything about his relationship with Edie,or anything to do with Warhol.Cause i imagine he would not be very polite on those subjects.I think he just wants 2 4get it

  • Same realist as I same birthday....

  • Je k sežrání !

  • His son Jakob looks exactly like him. wooooooooooow.

  • I adore this song, but I don't see how it pertains to this particular video...

  • I've seen those eyes on a small owl, the young Bob aloft on his own little branch filling us in on the view...

  • Woahh long fingernails!

  • @amberindiegirl How come folks constantly comment on his fingernails? Haha I mean if you look closely only his right hand has long fingernails which makes perfectly sense since he's a guitar player

  • oh...i'm back there...there must be someway out of here...it's just 2 good

  • @ps3sucksassballs Perfect for cocaine!

  • Lord have Mercy. Bob Dylan is the most beautiful man alive!

  • @pufmama Yes, Bobby is the most beautiful man to grace this earth!

  • @90265SE14 so glad you agree, most people think I'm certifiable cos I love him, his looks his voice, his music and everything. The whole package (excuse the expression) haha

  • @pufmama true, but he is not that beauty anymore ;-)

  • @kissbajja ..... He is still a gorgeous sex bomb. He rocks the stage, and looks mmmm Bobbylicious! Can't wait for him to come my way again!!!

  • @pufmama Being beautiful doesn't make it a better man...

  • @oasisforever I so agree, there are loads of beautiful guys who are stupid, or bad. Bob Dylan has everything.

Not just the looks, but everything that makes "a real man" and his music and poetry are obviously way above your head. Anyone talking trash about him should go away to put it politely.

  • @pufmama Not really...He may be a great musician but as @ZenPapageno says He did somethings quite badly.

  • @pufmama Bob's THE BEST looking&sexiest man, musician, writer, singer, and person!!! Anyone talks anything trash of him is talking trash of me and pufmama cuz we love our Bobby!!!

  • Dylan and his manager Grossman did the same thing Warhol did, promise Edie Sedgwick instant fame. A real friend would have guided her in the direction of reality. She was a talented art student who could have found work and suppored herself, escaped her father's control. She might have done Off-Broadway plays. Maybe Dylan meant well, but it seems that he made things worse.

  • @ZenPapageno well, he didn't like warhols scene, and offered to edie to get out, but she made her choice..

  • @ZenPapageno god knows what happened in that screentest, apparently that factory girl movie wasnt very accurate.. damn look at his guy's fucking nails..

  • @Frequent2001 Dylan had come out against the simplistic folksinger beliefs, but he saw the Factory people as Hollywood villains, which was simplistic. If he had gotten to know them and found the good ones, there could have been connections in the arts, jobs for her. She could have freed herself from Dad and Warhol. At least Dylan cared. Warhol said he wanted to film her committing suicide. Considering how fucked-up she was in her last performances, we'd say that he did just that.

  • Is Warhol gay??

  • @satinhell818 bi.... So waht?

  • Thanks for the upload. Also to all those discussing this, it is known that Bob Dylan didnt like Andy Warhol because of the way he treated people (Like Edie sedgwick). I think he only did this because he was friends with Edie. Thats was my assumption over the screen tests.

  • he didnt seem to like the way andy worked esp. with edi.

  • @TenayaG10 The way Andy Warhol "worked" with her, yes! ;)

  • Didn't Dylan dislike the Velvet Underground?

  • @trotskysbeard yes, and warhol too

  • Know one else has this video.... Where did you get this? very hard to find, very rare! Thank you for this upload Satarett :)

  • Awesome!
