  • The only true living God is the Amazing Randi

  • he looks like shit.

  • Don't be afraid of modern medicine.

It is only the third leading cause of death in the U.S.

  • @chriskendall1

You're so ass backwards man. Take away modern medicine and then see where'd we be healthwise. The only reason people are so fucked up these days is because of our extremely lazy way of life. But like I said. Take away our modern medinine, and then see where our health would be.

  • @chriskendall1

And I can almost guarantee most of those deaths are from people overdosing on prescription meds.

  • Glad you got better Randi! We need you around. And it was good to see you speak in Ft.Lauderdale at the convention. Keep up the skepticism!

  • If James Randy has have looked at the following research showing that homeopathically treated patients have better quality of life than the conventionally treated patients, including less fatigue, he would have passed the chemotherapy with less problems (just remove the spaces around the first dot to make the URL):

    biomedcentral . com/1471-2407/11/19

It's an irony, but he missed that just because of his criticism against homeopathy...

  • @moodlandscape You might want to pay better attention to that study. They used homeopathic treatment as WELL as concentional cancer treatment on one group, and just cancer treatment on the other.

So we're adding cancer treatment as well as a known placebo effect in one case, and just cancer treatment in another.

So...not impressive at all. Also noteworthy...not a peer reviewed source :D

  • @moodlandscape Thus our data suggest that classical homeopathic care could complement conventional cancer care to the benefit of patients. However, the attempt to prove a definite verification by using a Matched Pair control concept did not succeed.

Might wanna read your sources a bit more in depth bud. ;) This doesn't do anything but show how good the placebo effect is when used complimentarily, if anything.

  • He took chemo?...I thought he didn't believe in hoaxes.

  • Good to know he lives in South Florida, maybe I can ask him to be my mentor XD

  • I ususaly agree with Randi, but i'm sorry man, this such a heep of horse sh... that it makes me puke. i'm really happy that it worked for you, but my good friend 33 years young is dying of inoperable cancer after she took 2 different mixes of chemo that didn't do anything to improve her health, but instead only detorriated it. So before you stake such bull sh... clames, please read you statistical data on chemo success. It works in some cases and it doesn't in other. very irresponsible video!!!

  • @damirobad He never said it would work 100% - He was arguing for people to have the best chance possible. Chemo is well known for not being 100% certain, but it's better than an alternative solution, because there are next to none alternative solutions. - Additionally, terribly sorry to hear about your friend, it's a dreadful illness to have.

  • @damirobad ...You know, the fact that chemotherapy saves lives seems to go completely over the heads of people who it didnt' work for.

Chemotherapy is the best treatment we have besides direct surgery to get rid of cancerous growths(which sometimes can only become operable AFTER chemotherapy is given)...so you're saying, "If you have Cancer, just go and have cancer."? Because that's really the only other choice you have.

  • What BS!.. I wonder which MD's paying him to say that. "Chemo" is the insane option!!. It has only a 3% success rate. 97% of chemo patients die!!!.. Do your own research, don't listen to PR bullshit. Pharmaceuticals (& Cancer treatments) is the biggest business in America!. If you want to heal Cancer, listen to honest Doctors like Dr. Leonard Coldwell, (on Coast to Coast AM, Dr. Peter Glidden, Dr. Tullio Simoncini. Search YouTube for these 3x doctors, It'll prob save ur life!.. WAKE UP SHEEPLE!

  • Why take chemotherapy treatments when you could just drink some of Peter Popoff's FREE Miracle Spring Water®!!!

  • Chemotherapy another scam put to rest by James Randis beard the obvious source of his recovery.

  • faithful preacher, sorry Randi's health has declined...the foundation appears well funded, wonder by whom?

  • Comment removed

  • The problem is people associate Chemo with Radiation treatment. Radiation treament fucks you up and you will lose your hair as well as damage to many organs. Chemo isnt very destructive and it usually doesnt work.....Thats when they have to move to Radiation treatment..

  • A wise man once said: "If you want to know the truth, let go of your opinions". Most of you are blinded by them. AMA recently stated that properly prescribed medicine is the biggest killer in USA..

  • anybody who believe this old prick is basically getting sucked into the system...chemotherapy kills more people than it saves. In fact, if cancer patients were to never even get chemo, theyd have a better chance of surviving. By using CANNABIS oil, THE MOST NATURAL AND SAFEST WAY TO CURE/HELP WITH CANCER, you will live and talk about it or atleast enjoy your last few moments in life...

  • Beautiful.

  • Very happy you survived this.

Over a dozen family members who has done Chemo, 1 is still alive. Most were dead less than a year from treatment. Now a close friend of mine had chemo less than 6 months ago and now they are telling him to say his goodbyes.

I am not sure what improvements you are speaking of, but the chemo my Tia had was the same my cousin had and this was many many years difference.

I would rather die or risk alternate treatments than go threw what I witnessed them going threw.

  • I would love to hear James Randi comment on Michael Rupper's one-man documentary "Collapse". That is what *I* fear. I was born in the 1960s, so I grew up taking modern medicine and equipment for granted. But, I fear for the future, for kids growing up today, that they may not have the same hi-tech medical care that I've had for the past 40+ years, because when oil is no longer affordable to drill, all petrochemical products - esp medical tubes, gloves, etc - stop.

  • This is undoubtedly the most optimistic uplifting chemotherapy story I have ever heard! I'm not saying that when I get cancer that I'll go through with chemotherapy. I prefer homeopathy (KIDDING!!!!). Seriously, I know chemo works, but it's a personal value judgement whether I think it's worth the suffering and time and money.

    Good job, James!

  • "...my beard isn't as lustrous *wink*..."

    Died a little inside :D

  • YOU GOT WHAT WAS COMING TO YOU YOU LIAR AND FRAUD. YOU ARE ONE LYING OLD MAN. I HOPE YOU GET BETTER BUT KARMA HAS A WAY OF COMING AROUND RANDI. WHO IS BRIBING YOU? YA OLD BASTARD!

  • Why would anyone vote this video down? I don't get it... Stay well Randi!

  • @R369B Because this man is a liar. He takes genuinely gifted people and uses the most bigoted childish and irrational and illogical way of "debunking" them. When your job is to be a "skeptic", that's definitely an incentive to disregard true evidence but you didn't THINK of that didn't you? In fact do you even think at all? You just got told what to think you sheep.

  • @LucifersArgument It appears we have different explanations for "gifted". When you allow yourself to live in reality, & not some self indulged, egocentric, fairy tail, you tend to see things for what they really are. I agree many of these people are gifted; some as magicians, some as performers, and some as fraudsters. Allowing yourself to believe anything, doesn't make everything valid.

  • @LucifersArgument You say "disregard true evidence," I'm curious of your "Evidence". You should understand that "Evidence" is the only thing standing in the way. When dealing w/ a skeptic they're going to look for holes in a theory/ explanation of "x" event. (They All Fall Apart) When there's a logical answer, why pursue what you can't show ever existed, exists, or will exist. It's irrational & a way to overindulge your ego w/ your own self- importance, placing you on a pedestal above others.

  • @LucifersArgument "the most bigoted childish and irrational and illogical way of "debunking" them." Name one? Name one method that they used that is irrational and illogical? Name one?

  • @thecosmosisgreat I once was like you. I have awakened. Randi is part of the dumbing down the people for easier management process. It's perfectly fine for you to be suspicious but to be close minded is detriminal to yourself. I am quite content with my own research and don't have to "prove" anything to anyone. I know you will find a way around it and argue this and that. Im concerned with truth and have found it. I don't seek to argue to look smarter or anything of the sort. check your inbox.

  • James Randi, What do you think of God now? I bet you did a lot of praying.

  • @bamnibaum I'll bet he is even more of an Atheist now than ever. Even in this video, he praised Science and Medication, never once a god.

  • @JoosLiesRules "Cancer is caused by a nutritional deficiency"

Really? What about genetic mutations? And environmental causes?Smoking and lung cancer.I personally know many doctors and oncologists who have themselves and their families been treated with chemo. This is a LIE spread by alt. med. people that was based on a distorted survey that was given to doctors many years ago..Dr Day is known to be a religious whack job who went off the 'deep end' several years ago.

  • @sweetclaire06 Cause of cancer is not well known. My mother was a health/fitness/nutrition nut and died of cancer whose source was unknown. I'd guess the copious amounts of CoQ-10, the HGH and the other crap the Nutrition cult spews on it's deluded victims was instrumental in her demise. I say this due to the unusual growth of her cancer. It raged in her body like wild fire. Death was a welcomed relief, believe me. If the nutritionists tell you some shit is good for you, RUN THE OTHER WAY!!!!

  • @dagda825 "Cause of cancer is not well known"

Sorry, I can't agree with this.Is everything known, no.But it's becoming more and more known. As new genetic markers that cause it are being discovered.Different environmental causes are being identified also.Sorry about your Mom.I can't tell you how many "health nuts" I know who were diagnosed with cancer. So much for the diet theory. To extreme anyway.I believe it mostly boils down to our genetics. The genome we are dealt so to speak.

  • investment is ridiculously low. Compound this with them being absolutely worthless and misleading to the public - quite obviously alternative medicine is a bigger scam as compared to "Big Pharma"

And "Big Pharma" can jolly well jump into manufacturing of alternative "medicine". Then I suppose you would call it a fraud because who manufactures the drug seems to be your only criterion to decide what works and what doesn't irrespective of what the REAL evidence says.

  • no drug trials are done forget about multilevel trials. No post marketing drug surveillance. No peer reviews to cross check efficacy (no checking done in the first place thus the question of crosschecking doesn't arise). And the claims made are unbelievable.

"Big Pharma" makes an investment in ascertaining efficacy and safety of the drug in its development which obviously cuts down the profit they make. Alternative medicine on the other hand gets a larger share of profit as the initial

  • Then spending some more money on studying the drug for rare and unforseen side effects once it hits the market. The scientific literature on these drugs is hardly ever an attempt to hide the truth and is also tested by peer review - not only for efficacy and side effect profile but also for how it works in comparison to existing drugs.

Compare that with the alternative medicine - no spending on finding out the cause of the disease - it is conveniently made up without any proof. Next,

  • @JoosLiesRules and other conspiracy theorists: You keep going on and on about big pharma being big scamsters. Could you please explain to me who the bigger scamster is considering that a huge amount of money is spent (most often by big pharma) on researching the cause of diseases then spending money to find out molecules which can interfere with the development of the disease (i.e. real medicine) then spending a whole lot of money on each of the 3 stages of drug trials.

  • @drhtum JoosLiesRules arrogance is surpassed only by his ignorance. He probably thinks "chemo" is one drug derived from mustard gas!

  • Well, one place that Randi did not do his homework. He only talked about his experience. Also if your Oncologist tells you to keep away from Cannabis when you tell him it helps you, tell them to fly a kite.

  • He motions toward his beard when he mentions strength. I knew it was the source of his superpowers!

  • @JoosLiesRules Easily refutable. This is the same thing Kent Hovind tried to peddle, that one just needs to eat a seed of pure B-17 and they'd be fine.

The thing is, both the National Institutes of Health AND the Cochrane Collaboration have conducted studies showing that Amygdalin in fact does NOT work as an effective cancer treatment or preventative, and in fact could, and does, cause cyanide poisoning.

Take your conspiracy theories and shove them up your ass.

  • go back to sleep, you are a close minded idiot,

  • @zenithar6666 Yup, no actual refutation of what I said, just an insult.

Pretty par for the course for you conspiracy nutters ; )

  • why were you expecting a refutation? oh, and simply calling somethign a conspircay thoery without evidence that it istn true is silly. i hope you have a good long sleep where you think

    big corp and governments

  • @zenithar6666 I did provide evidence. I cited two studies to show that the guy I was responding to was a conspiracy nutter, and your response was to tell me to go to sleep and that I was close minded.

This is conspiracy theorist rhetoric...either that or you're trolling me. In that case, well played my dear troll. Well played.

  • im sorry, but your obviously a phony who labels others as conspiracy theorist simply for having an opposing view. well, there putting fluoride in your water, flouride is a poison, linked to cancer, bone disease and many other health threats as acknowledged by many studies and reputable people, yet, they put it in your water? conspiracy?

you are living in a delusion where big government etc actually want whats best for the general public..sorry, cancer, Fitzgerald reprot, check it

  • @JoosLiesRules"the Internet has thousands upon thousands of sites with irrefutable facts"

The Internet DOES have thousands of sites promoting all kinds of ALTERNATIVE therapies! If Big Pharma,FDA,AMA,etc.really were in this massive evil conspiracy to SUPPRESS all these wonderful, natural, inexpensive treatments and cures they are sure doing a crappy job of it!The Internet is flooded with claims such as drinking bleach(MMS)to a Zapper that will kill the cancer cells with a tiny ZAP of electricity!

  • I wonder what Randy thinks about the body's energy system. How can you explain when you hold a healthy food in one hand with arm extended you resist more then when you hold a bag of chips? Strange. Some professionals will ask you to hold bottle of herbs and prove to you this way how much stronger you are able to resist their pushing your arm down.

  • James, you should research fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, seeds, greens, beans, peas, legumes, etc. They help to fight cancer.

  • @JoosLiesRules

You are most likely thinking of free radicals some fruits and vegetables have anti-oxidants which can help prevent mutations to an extent. Although, mega doses of anti-oxidants don’t have much of an effect because they do not clean up intercellular free radicals, which cause most of the problems. Anyhow you have no idea what you are talking about and should retake a high school biology course

Oh I can do one better I know an oncologist that's child went through chemo

  • @JoosLiesRules

Excuse me source yourself please cancer is a Nutritional Deficiency!!! Do you work in the medical field or have you ever taken a biology course? Cancer is cause from mutations. Mutations are cause from many different things including the natural process of cell division. Funny enough if you were to starve yourself you would actually reduce the likely hood of cancer.

  • @JoosLiesRules Nevermind that moder nmedicine has helped to eradicate measles, mumps, smallpox, chicken pox, diptheria, malaria, typhoid fever, and much more.

The facts support modern medicine by the fuck ton, he person in denial here is you, because you're one of these conspiracy theorist arrogant fucks that refuses to listen to reason, and would prefer to think that everyone's out to get you, as evidenced by you suggesting I might be working for them just by not agreeing with you.

  • @JoosLiesRules By the way. You are an ignorant close minded fuck. Nevermind that moder nmedicine has done much to eradicate measles, mumps, smallpox, malaria, polio, chicken pox, diptheria, Typhoid fever, Tetanus and more, no, you'd much rather believe it's all a conspiracy to keep you sick while they take your money, because they're the big evil corporation.

You consipriacy theorists are all the same, and you never come up with anything new. The facts support medicine.

  • @BigLundi If one makes a comment that disagrees with a video that is promoting a scam/unproven cure, it's the SAME people that are posting comments HERE accusing anyone who agrees with PROVEN medical treatments of being paid by big pharma, a troll etc.etc.Of course the MOST vocal against modern medicine are the ones who are profiting $ in some way off of the sale of these either 'unproven' or 'proven to not work or be of no value' treatments.

  • @sweetclaire06 You won't find any disagreement here. The arrogance displayed by those who like to go around insulting proven medical cures or therapy is absolutely staggering. These people like to think they have some sort of special knowledge that they've stumbled upon, and are a part of a club that knows 'the real truth'. All too often these people are just fooling themselves, and their evangelizing of alterative medicine causes other people to be fooled as well. It's downright destructive.

  • @JoosLiesRules It's the arrogance of you alternative medicine assholes that really gets me. You have no scientific studies backing up your claims that a simple nutritional diet is all one needs to fight cancer, you have no evidence that alternative medicines even work, because they're caled alternative medicines because they haven't been tested.

Keep supporting your pseudoscience drivel, I rather appreciate all modern medicine has done for me. Which is a LOT.

  • @JoosLiesRules Indeed, Chemotherapy does kill It kills cancer. Yay Chemotherapy.

If the cure has been known for years, why hasn't it been working on any sort of consistent level? I even recall an alternative medicine guru who claimed she knew the real cure to cancer, and then died of it. I know of a 'transcendentalist' that thought she knew how to cure it without any medicine at all, and her husband died from it.

Medicine works. Woo woo bullshit doesn't.

  • @BigLundi"I even recall an alternative medicine guru who claimed she knew the real cure to cancer, and then died of it"

Ha!That would be Hulda allcanceriscausedbyflukes Clark. She herself(according to her death cert.public record)died of multiple myeloma. Her brother also died(before her)from cancer. So much for her claims to cure all cancer. One of her greatest contributions to medicine"the Zapper"a machine that delivers an electrical current through the skin to kill those flukes didn't work for her

  • I doubt it.

  • Hi Big Lundi,

Take the blinkers off and check out the truth. Chemo is a carcinogen, what happened to "do no harm". Maybe you could try chemo as a preventative if its that good for you. Randi might give you a million bucks to prove chemo is good for you. Can you think of anything used in the conventional treatment of cancer that doesnt cause cancer?

  • @thehomeopath1 You don't understand what cancer, or chemo is. Chemo is a mixture of chemicals that stops Cancer from getting worse, assists the immune system in fighting off crrent cancer cells, and inies the growthof Topoisomerase inhibitors in the body, an essential enzyme.

Is it perfect? No, it can cause vomitting and diarrhea in rare, severe cases, but I'd rather be vomitting with diarrhea than being killed by cancer. Randi already believes chemotherapy is good for you.

  • Hi Randi,

You can tell you have had chemo you look ill. Isnt chemo a carcinogen? You should be ashamed of yourself promoting a poison as a cure, especially when the survival rate is less than 3% over a five year period. You must have chemo brain!

How much has big phama paid you? I hope its a million dollars you could then pay the money to the people who have proved you wrong about homeopathy.

You are nothing but a fraud and a paid puppet.

  • @thehomeopath1 Go put on a tin foil hat.

  • @thehomeopath1 YOU should be ashamed of yourself! Thousands are cured or have their lives extended by the use of chemotherapy. There are many different kinds. Not ALL make you terribly sick with side effects. Most people go on with their lives while getting treatment.Children diagnosed with leukemia TODAY have a more than 90% chance of being CURED! That's a FACT.Tell those parents NOT to give the ONLY treatment that works. And don't tell me I work for big pharma I don't.

  • @thehomeopath1 And as to your name "thehomeopath". if you should get cancer feel free to drink your watered down potions that consist of NOTHING that do NOTHING to treat yourself.

  • @thehomeopath1 Are you wearing that hat shinny side out or shinny side in?

  • Comment removed

  • @thehomeopath1 Shows what you know, Absolutely Nothing. This man beat cancer, because of the Chemo. Not all Chemo is the same. I'm going to assume that you have a better suggestion to battle cancer, or better yet cure it. I also hope your're not someone who is absurd enough to believe in that homeopathic Bullshit. Real diseases require Real cures; something I'm also going to assume you don't know anything about. I'm referring to "Real" as in "REALITY," as in the place you should come visit..Ass

  • @thehomeopath1 "How much has big phama paid you? I hope its a million dollars you could then pay the money to the people who have proved you wrong about homeopathy."

You are an idiot...No one has ever been able to prove that homeopathy works.

  • Randi had cancer?

  • who disliked this positive video???

  • Thanks for your words, i just wish and i hope to foster your strength and spirit if and when myself or a loved once faces such an obsticle.

  • Sad when such a amazing people getting old :( Cause people are getting dumber and dumber... we need people like Randi..or George Carlin.

  • I have viewed many of these videos, and I can respect your views and what you are doing. However, you need to remember that not everybody is going to have the same exact experience given the same circumstances. So while you might not have had a problem with this particular chemotherapeutic agent, somebody else might have a completely different experience. There are a lot of different chemotherapeutic agents being used today, not all of them are so innocuous.

  • @AmberNite23 I believe he makes it quite clear that he is relating HIS experience with HIS particular kind of cancer and chemotherapy. He acknowledged that chemo side effects can vary.

  • James Randi please see the work of Dr. Otto Warburg, who won the Nobel Prize, when it was worthy, for discovering the prime cause of cancer in the 30's.His work was/is supressed. I used his lab work to save my father from prostate cancer.

  • I think James hit on something when he talked about attitude..........I remember the prognosis given to Lance Armstrong.

  • Wise, funny, inspirational and amazing.

James Randi truly is Dumbledore for us secular humanists.

  • A truly superior human being. Good to hear you are fine ! you are one of my heroes, in the same place as Sagan, Dawkins, George Carlin, and so many others...

  • @ldgiord i totally agree i love all those you mention and of course the great randi x

  • I'm not going to read the comments but I get the impression that there are people on here trying to convince cancer sufferers from utilising chemo. Well... fuck them and if you agree with them then fuck you too. Idiots.

  • tell that to patrick swayze, who had millions to buy the best of best Chemo. Did it help him? Nope.

  • @Steph3ns Mainstream medicine unlike "alternative miracle cures ALL cancer treatments" from alt. med. people NEVER claimed they have the cure for ALL types of cancer. Some are very curable while others have very poor chemo treatments available. But it's better than no hope at all.Which is what alt.med. offers. None of it has been studied and scientifically proven to work.If it works, it's NO LONGER ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE! It's MEDICINE.And Swayze could have also bought the best alt medicine too.

  • GREAT news about your health sir! You've always been someone i looked up to via my love of magic. Keep on keeping on! :)

  • He says it as it is. I'm glad he went into such depth to say there were indeed some bad effects of chemotherapy, but that it went alright nonetheless. Now this man is hard to kill. I look up to this man.

  • wtf I'm sorry for the multi-repeat posts please downvote :/

  • I'm so happy to hear you've recieved a good diagnoses. You are a great man. Hope you live long and strong and keep making inroads on the continuous war against bullshit.

  • I'm so happy to hear you've recieved a good diagnoses. You are a great man. Hope you live long and strong and keep making inroads on the continuous war against bullshit.

  • hope you recover randi, best get well wishes

  • KKK

  • someone needs to continue his legacy after he dies :'(

  • @happybunnysmiles ew ur a bigot

  • @happybunnysmiles

Yes, Randy is gay. But, more importantly Randy is AMAZING!

  • @happybunnysmiles That is hateful. Shame on you and your pithy ad hominem attack.

  • @UltimateTomato well its true, Homosexuality is a huge sin, so i dont like him :\

  • @happybunnysmiles quiet troll

  • @happybunnysmiles your obviously a retarded xtian, now go kill yourself so can visit your imaginary friend

  • @MrMilagroqq im not going to kill myself, and God is reall u need some helpp because ur lost i can help you come to the right path convert to islam b4 its too late

  • @happybunnysmiles I repeat, go kill yourself then you can get 72 virgins, maybe they will be boys so you can continue your buttfucking agenda. I'm just joking you and I assume your joking me about conversion, however if your sincere then you are one delusional tard

  • @MrMilagroqq I wasnt kidding, and i read the quran no where does it say when u die u get 72 virgins, thats a lie you are lost and need help, i can help you come to the right path, if God wills

  • @happybunnysmiles the quran is a violent piece of shit, that advocates killing infidels and many other violent and fucked up views. Anyone with any intelligence know's better. P.S. there no god and certainly not a perverted killer as depicted in the bible and quran. I'm not lost just on a higher intellectual level than people who believe in sky fairies nuff said

  • @MissMoodyMoony The Fabulous Randy.

  • All the best to you, James Randi. You've been a beacon of reason in a world so full of irrational and superstitious beings.

  • 19 people who have watched this will die of cancer

  • @aklosvik

A lot more than 19 of us will die of cancer. It's the top killer in the US.

  • Please live forever sir!

  • If James Randi is not the Greatest Gift of God he is the closest thing to God.

  • he's a hero!

  • All that and he didn't even pray! ;-)

  • Colon

  • I guess being farther away from God (aethiest) and being from Toronto makes you beat cancer these days...

  • I was hoping james would have some knowledge (and express it) on what chemotherapy is. Manally, I am skeptical of cancer, particularly concerning the claim that it is somewhat of an unknown topic. I've heard Robert-Scott: Christy make claims that a few people he knows rubbed marijuana oil on their skin cancer and the cancer cleared within a week. That, and that another man diagnosed with cancer got examined and found that his cancer was "a virus, a fungus and a bacteria" which they then treated.

  • @IppatsuTensei88 lol...thats all i can say to u... lol!

  • @IppatsuTensei88 is this post sarcastic?

  • My mother just started Chemo, I sent here this vid because I thought it would help. Thanks to James Randi for sharing.

  • @seeingglass86 how is your mum doing? I wish her the best

  • @GBJ83 Shes doing better. Her treatment is still making her sick. But it almost over. Just a few more weeks to go. Thanks for asking.

  • @seeingglass86 thank you for replying. maybe you can tell her that some random human is thinking of her recovery and it may help reinforce her positive attitude through these tough weeks, who knows. Stay strong for all those around you

  • @GBJ83 Thank you very much. I will let her know

  • James Randi is an amazing man...I think he just doesn't understand that most people do not have access to the medical care that he has readily available to him.

  • @andyrooney12 whats that got to do with what he is saying?

  • @GBJ83

It's got everything to do with it...have you watched the video? Another person I have a great deal of respect for is Christopher Hitchens. Both Hitchens & Randi had to deal with cancer but they are fortunate because they are influential people with high connections and a lot of money. For example, Hitchens was able to get his DNA analyzed by Francis Collins, who isolated a lot of parts & tried to find the potential cause of the cancer. How many ordinary people with cancer could do that?

  • @andyrooney12 are you jealous of rich people? or is it because you are in america and have no NHS lol? since the dawn of time richer people have had access to better healthcare and act as guinea pigs for many things before they reach the general population. The timeframe between richer folk and poorer folk like you getting same techniques is narrowing all the time. If personal approach to cancer by isolating dna is effective it will become cheaper and readily available to all sooner or later.

  • @andyrooney12 this video has nothing to do with any of that shit though. Randi is a wold renowned skeptic and debunker of myths and traps. People ask if atheists and non-believers turn to God when they are ill or dying. Randi is clearly saying NOT. He is saying NOT to forsake real medical treatment for homeopathy and other fairy crap. Same with Hitchens. And I liked hitchens when he was younger and more liberal before he turned neocon and now loves wars. I still enjoy him debating.

  • LOL, I love the grandfatherly wink he gives when commenting on his hair falling out. He is just a remarkable man. ;-)

  • Great that chemo works for you James. And I absolutly agree, medical science is progressing by the day, especially now when personalized cancer therapy is coming out of it's dipers, I should know because I am part of it. And by the way, I became involved in cancer research partially beacuse you inspired me when I was still in college. Keep up the strong work!

  • @katastrofa12 cool post, keep up your good work, the world needs you

  • Glad the Chemo worked for you James, here is to another many years ahead for you

  • 18 fucking assholes disliked this video for whatever reason, I smell anti science bigots being hateful for no good reason.

  • @anubispfenix I know eh, why would people hate that chemo is getting better? homeopathic people probably that dont want people knowing the truth, that water cannot cure cancer

  • he's getting so old :( i wish he'd get young again so he could live forever, he's so awesome, he's a voice for reason, debunks sillyness like religion/pyschics/astrology, he's an atheist, and he's gay. so he's pretty much super awesome haha, because he's all against the "norm" of american society where im stuck

  • Did you ever not see the Forrest for the trees?

I stand corrected and offer profuse apologies.

So focused was I on both our first use of it's/its that I overlooked such an obvious mistake.

You are quite right and I am humbled before you.

Thank you for taking such pains to point out this lack of observation.

  • Unfortunately I may have to find out about this at some point since I've inherited high-risk genetic markers for cancer from both my parents. I'm not really worried much about the chemicals, it's the needles that make me nervous.

  • its a miracle! praise the lord!

  • @grandexandi No it's called Science Based Medicine. Praise physics and those that dedicated their lives to it's understanding.

  • @stramster1 * its

  • @grandexandi Oh no i got caught by the grammar police... better get me a lawyer.

No wait... "it's" is an acceptable contraction of IT and IS while Its is the possessive form of the neutral pronoun "it".

    It wiped its feet.

    It's a nice day.

    No lawyer required.

  • @stramster1 huh? but in your sentence, it should have been the possessive pronoun

  • @grandexandi Oh my word no. It is called Science Based Medicine. It is a miracle.

It is (it's) a common mistake.

  • @stramster1 i dont understand what youre saying, be more direct

  • @grandexandi I'm sorry mate but if you don't get it by now I'm not sure I can help you. Try this in google type, define:it's and then type define:its make sure there is no spaces.... this will give you web definitions and you can visit sites that can perhaps explain it better than I have.

I don't think we should clog up the good Mr Randi's vid chat log with any more of this but you may post on my channel if needed.

  • @stramster1 I understand the difference between "it's" and "its" perfectly, that's what allowed me to correct you. What I didn't understand was the fact that you appeared to know it too, but still wasn't able to see the error in your sentence after I pointed it out. First you said "get me a lawyer" but then you went over the grammar and finally said "no lawyer needed", when actually, even with the explanation, your sentence remained incorrect. What confused me was your logic. Or the lack of it.

  • @stramster1 And, forgetting about the unimportant grammar issues and going back to the main point, I was obviously trolling when said "It's a miracle, praise the lord!" in a freaking James Randi video. Well, at least I thought it was obvious...

  • @grandexandi Unfortunately in text sarcasm has to be over emphasized so as to avoid problems like this but I did think as much in retrospect when you didn't address my original post.

The fault is partly mine. ♥

As to the "better get me a lawyer" remark, I was being facetious but you where wrong and remain so in the grammatic use of "its" in your original comment and then tried to correct me on my use of "it's".

    My logic is sound.

♥ u Randi sorry for the blather.

  • @stramster1 Oh I see it now, you were correcting MY use of "its". I forgot I had written that. I usually write it like that when online, specially commenting on Youtube because they count the letters, and in informal conversations its generally acceptable to use abbreviations as its, dont, doesnt, etc... just because its faster. There might be some context where adding unnecessary apostrophes is acceptable, but I dont know which. I still dont get ur logic and I wont comment on "you where wrong"

  • @grandexandi What unnecessary apostrophe?

You should have use one but didn't. I should have used one and I did.

    Then YOU corrected ME.

I agree you don't get it and after my effort to help you on this issue this is a shame.

I am at this point prepared to shrug my shoulders and say "have it your way".

  • @stramster1 Ugh... I'll explain once more, read slowly: your sentence "Praise physics and those that dedicated their lives to it's understanding." There it is! Can you see it? Where you wrote "it's" it should have been "its", withOUT the apostrophe. That's what I tried to point out. You should have NOT used an apostrophe. Don't get me wrong, it's not for the grammar itself, that's not nearly as important as we painted it, what gets me is this nonsense about knowing it but not recognizing it!

  • We need you James!!

  • smart people do have crazy hairstyles >:D

his hair and beard are awesum >:D

  • This guy is a true hero.
