Because it's scientifically proven that the western hemisphere has the best ear for music, non opinion based, it's facts. 80s rock(satch, vai, gustavo, etc.) shits on 60s blues (clapton, hendrix, even miyata has a standard 60s blues sound). It's not hard to bend notes, however shredding over a simple melody is skill.

As for getting boring, if you have ANY respect for the guitar you'll realize how hard every part of this song is, and how greatly composed it is. Definitley a classic now, and this is why gustavo (along with 90% of his other songs) sits him at the levels of Vai and satriani. It's not music that non-musicians listen to, so if you don't play guitar, don't watch instrumentals. This is strictly aimed at the music world. Perfectly showing off skill, phrasing, feel, and melody. 10/10

@Dreamdancer11 Actually I think you will find that Fernando Miyata is primarily a flamenco player who is transcribing his skills / abilities onto electric. I like Fernando because he mixes and uses very interesting techniques

At least he has a composition that tells a story...that has a beggining and an end not a collection of licks(very technical no doubt) like Miyata.Thats why miyata or Gottardo although amazing players didnt win.Cause their composition was just impressive licks crammed together....no coherence.But i dont want to convice you....you think Clapton shreds........i think that already speaks volumes about you.

and at least Miyata's music flows and has style. All Gustav has is a collection of riffs that he switches between. The interchanges aren't smooth and fluent. He just plays different things. It's doesn't fit together smoothly like Miyata's changes

@Numlocq Actually you did say it....check out a few posts back.As for the things that you say about Guerra i would say the exact things about MIyata.This for example is a song.It has the necessary technique to win a contest but its also music.MIyata has amazing technique basically he can rip a guitar to pieces but this wasnt just a technique contest.It was composition too.....and his just wasnt....there..i like them both but i would use mIyata to learn some new techniques not hearing his music.

You say Gustavo doesn't express perfect composition as well as amazing technique in this song? Every part runs together fluidly, He interchanges the melody multiple times but keeps the same overall sound, he changes keys, modes, and even changes up to a perfect melodic slow part.... All while playing with outstanding skill and feel..

@Numlocq Now I have a question... I've watched Miyata's videos multiple times... I do not see any of this besides unrealistic shredding and sloppy tone. Sure he's a great guitarist skill wise, and he's got a decent 60's blues feel to his playing, but where do you see his melodys at? His songs are not composed the slightest bit, He simply takes an easy rhythm and shreds over it, this my friend is not composition, this is mindless shredding. And again, Gustavo fits every part of this song together

@hensleyohensley I agree with hensley, i just watched one of his videos and TBH all he does is solo, at least Guerra plays riffs in his video, Miyata cares too much about playing fast to be bothered with playing cool Riffs, and he just doesnt sound anywhere near Guerra's league.

@Numlocq as for overdone, The only player you'll see playing like this is Joe Satriani, his guitar idol? It's the style of music, 80's rock blues. Why do so many people play this? Because it's scientifically proven that the western hemisphere has the best ear for music, non opinion based, it's facts. 80s rock(satch, vai, gustavo, etc.) shits on 60s blues (clapton, hendrix, even miyata has a standard 60s blues sound). It's not hard to bend notes, however shredding over a simple melody is skill.

This is possibly one the best composed songs I've heard in awhile, not only does he change the original melody plenty of times through out the song, but it all runs smoothly together. I might have to say some of the best melodies are found in this song. And all require skill. Gustavo is like one the best 80's blues players. listen and learn, lose the respect for clapton, he's 60s trash.

As for getting boring, if you have ANY respect for the guitar you'll realize how hard every part of this song is, and how greatly composed it is. Definitley a classic now, and this is why gustavo (along with 90% of his other songs) sits him at the levels of Vai and satriani. It's not music that non-musicians listen to, so if you don't play guitar, don't watch instrumentals. This is strictly aimed at the music world. Perfectly showing off skill, phrasing, feel, and melody. 10/10
