I have never found a method of making or buying a great taco in a mexican food resturant even though I have been searching for decades. It does not help that localy the hamburger meet quality sucks big time and comes out in clumps instead of being a fine mix. I will definetly try your method and recipe. I have had the same problem finding a good chow mein recipe, since I am diabetic it is very very hard to cook what I am supposed to eat and what my wife and family will also like.
@shipoopi228 A bit of cayenne powder just doesn't do it for me. I find it kind of weak at times. A tsp. might give it some taste but a couple of tbsp. give it the kick. Obviously folks can adjust to their own taste. Have you watched my Damn 'HOT' series of vids. Not for the timid. Thank you! KtC
@MicDrg I hope to post a more authentic recipe however, my thoughts at the time on this was to provide an alternative to the package stuff that contains all those bad things (msg). I make it like this all the time. Much better too! The meat is also great on nachos! I am happy you enjoyed it! cheers, KtC
I love all your recipes . I love the fact that you make it so easy and staright to the point . You never drag out on the process of making everything and I cant wait to try all the recipes that I save in my favorites thank you ...keep up the great work ....
@Ronnie2749 Hi! Thank you, I appreciate your thoughts. I enjoy making the vids and sharing the ideas/ recipes with folks. I like to get the facts myself on a recipe and work from there. I found too many vids. were too long. My attention span can be short at times :) cheers! KtC
@LostExess I'm happy you enjoy them. Some better than others but all try to be informative (one way or another). Welcome and thank you. I will visit you soon. cheers, KtC
@LostExess ...your meat looks soooo good...and it's not with a packet either i hate using them ...do you have a measurement of each thing you put in there that you could give me i'd love to try it!!!
@wetsitfamily The package stuff is loaded with salt and preservatives. If I advocate anything is 'make your own seasoning' I never buy any of it.
Most recipe here with no measurements are visual. Common sense should prevail and you can't ruin it by putting in a little less or more of something. Measurements are for bakers :D
@wetsitfamily Yes, certainly. I have a recipe actually and sometimes make myself (another to perhaps). I like both types (either soft or hard). cheers! KtC
If you put the beef first do you tend to find it dries out? Also, would chicken or beef broth work better than water? Though the end result looks delicious, these little helpful hints would definitely help.
@PrettyInPinkBoutique Brown the beef first? I do, as to drain off the fat. Not sure what you meant. Typically, any liquid is better than just water however, there is a few spices in here, No sodium broth I would assume? Thanks for sharing your tips. Much appreciated. cheers! KtC
@XxAkramaNxX The seasonings are great but each their own. I have 400 videos right now and not all them are for everyone. However, most will find more than few that thery do enjoy. Happy your back! cheers! KtC
@princessjodii An alternative recipe instead of picking up the store packaged type. As someone mentioned below you can make it as much (or less) spicy as you want. enjoy the tacos! KtC
Regardless of how every one thinks their tacos are better, these look delicious. There are many versions of tacos all over the world, I choose to focus on these. Tasty looking.
TACOS!..........TACOS!.........TACOS!......(screams for 5 minutes) mmmmm tacos, my favorite, anything u want in one crunchy or had shell like a spring roll, or burrito, makes the job of eating quick, easy, and maybe clean....

With that said, try!
ground beef 1lb
onion/ garlic 2 tbsp. each
cayenne 1 tbsp. (more spicy add more)
everything else 1 tsp.
just enough water to cover
Enjoy!

rebelgirl88xx 2 years ago
Sorry but Im Mexican and those are nothing like real tacos. I realize my comment will get thumbs down but its the truth...
First of all we dont use ground beef for taco meat. Second wed NEVER use a taco shell. And third wed never use salsa from a can you buy at a store.
Maybe this is a Tex-mex or SUPER Americanized version of what a real taco is like.
If you wanna see real tacos go to my channel and click on the Taco Trucks video.
OrquideaFeroz 2 years ago
It is american tacos obviously.
I don't see latinos lined up at taco bell.
Some people prefer it this way.
Ground beef, taco shell, even sour cream/guacamole. Mild picante salsa.
I don't think you should dog his recipe though.
It never claims to be "authentic".
While I prefer authentic mexican tacos, I do like american pizza better than authentic italian pizza.
A plus to this video is the use of dried herbs and spices to season the meat as opposed to just buying the packet. GREAT JOB!
bucktheusa 2 years ago
That about sums it up. I have visited parts of Mexico and have really enjoyed the 'authentic' (and variable) tacos as well as many foods.
Yep, my thought at the time was to show preparing the ground beef without the package stuff. I appreciate your comment. cheers! KtC
