I really don't understand why you think she looks bad, for one - because she's not in a yellow ball gown? She looks good here to me.

And she is singing it pretty close to how it's written here. Sure, there are some modifications, but that's just part of a live show IMO. If you wanted to hear the CD all over again, just stay home and listen to the CD.

I don't really know why you have to comment on their videos and waste precious life seconds on someone you don't even like. But that's just me.

Why have I posted something derogatory on a Nightwish clip? Because I spend 'my precious life seconds' listening to Nightwish a lot.

Don't defend a bad performance with the old 'live modification' schtick, because it doesn't improve the song - quite the opposite.

I love Nightwish, I've been with them since Angel's Fall First. I enjoy some of the material they've done with Anette, but since DPP they're only getting worse. This is upsetting.

They need a GREAT album to turn things around.

Well, again, your opinion. I think DPP was a great album, honestly. It was everything I expected it to be - a natural progression of Once. To me the musical direction changed since Century Child.

And I don't defend bad performances. Anette has had some bad ones, for sure. I just don't think this happens to be one of them. Her early performances of Wishmaster were not good, for example. I think in general the DPP songs have been fairly good with her, although of course there are exceptions.

Re: Anette's looks...sorry, but when she came into the band she presented herself very well and was in shape - she looked right in the lineup and her bright personality and good looks were part of her stage presence.

For the last year she's been stacking up the pounds and wandering out on stage in all sorts of random, unflattering clothing. It detracts from her, and the band's live show in general.

It's hard to see a treasured band turn into a sloppy, self satisfied joke.

I don't think Anette has gained a lot of weight, personally - certainly she has, yes, but I honestly really don't care how much singers weigh if I enjoy their voices. That's just me, though, I know to some people, image is important.

I think her clothing here looks better than some of the things she's worn (which I agree, some have been weird). I haven't liked every outfit. Some are okay, some are dreadful, and some are nice, but that's my personal taste - I don't see fit to tell her hers.

I understand how Anette can be upsetting to older fans - I've loved Nightwish my fair share of years now too, and I really like Anette anyway, she seems nice and energetic and emotive to me, but I know this is not the way for everyone.

I really wish older fans COULD find something in the music to love again, just because it seems a shame to lose something you loved so much over Anette.

I think that there is something to like in Dark Passion Play. There are some very good songs, and at times Anette's voice fits well; Poet and Wolves are two highlights.

It's just such a step backward from what it used to be; more than merely a change in singer, which is always tough, but as if the whole band has lost something. I've kept a close eye on Nightwish since Anette joined, and I've told the Tarja brigade to fuck off more than once, but she is so inconsistent.

Many of Anette's live performances are just not good enough on a musical level, and with her different style to Tarja, the old crowd are forever going to be divided between the open minded and the cynical.

So there she is, dancing about as if she's at someone's wedding, dressed like she's on a hen night and wavering between alright and dreadful, and the band look so happy! They don't hear it, or they just don't care.

I just wish she'd improve. Fingers crossed for new album...

Well, some people like this change. Others, like you, are less than pleased. It really is a matter of taste.

It's not a matter of hearing "it" or not hearing it. I really think it's about what you want to hear. If you want Anette to sound bad, you'll be sensitive to all the mistakes she makes. If you like her, then you'll be able to just listen.

I like both singers, but I really don't care who sings, because I genuinely love Nightwish for the music and the lyrics.
