It's not just the durabilty. It is also the drumbrains that they make. I love their sounds. And even the HD-1 (eventhough they are preset and not customisable) has great natural sound. Personally, I think there is nothing better. And the meshheads are awesome.

This HD1 kit is absolutely awful. For $800 dollars, it's a waste. Save $200 more and buy a TD-3. That's worth your money.

If you have wii ghwt drums, don't buy these drums to play gh! They will work with the game but every hit on the rolands is a double-hit in-game.

@narutoson666 It doesn't look great in the video, but getting down to playing it and everything, with the realistic rebound and mesh-head snare is phenomenal.

The only problem is the bass pedal, but it is universal, so you can play with other bass pedals, etc.

It was £499 for me, which is $799

Fully worth it too be honest.

It's more of an intermediate kit, not a beginner kit, although it looks like one.

@narutoson666 You can adjust the toms, snare, cymbals, etc. every part of the drum kit to a suprising extent. So you can make it as spaced out as you want, and it'll still perform fine. The high-hat pedal doesn't look great, but it isn't over-sensitive or anything, and you can do the realistic splash sound with it.

I have this kit,it's perfect for my room but I don't rate the stock sounds.

I bought it with the exclusive intension of using it with Addictive Drum cubase plugin,it sounds AMAZING!

To use this with Guitar Hero you have to own a guitar hero/rock band drum kit.

Plug the roland via Midi into the guitar hero/rock band drums and your good to go.

the way it works (usually) is you plug the kit into a GHWT drum kit using a MIDI cable, so it should be compatable with everything

Those drums would really solve my problem since l broke the snare on my world tour drums and the guy in the store said he couldn't recommend any videogame drums, he said they were all crap but this kit seems to be awesome, too bad it's a little expensive but l guess you get what you pay for! : )

The only Roland's worth buying are the TD-9k kit upwards. They cost a lot, but they're damn worth it. All mesh pads, as close to real as possible sensitivity, all that iPod mix-in stuff. Although apparently the Yamaha drumbrain is the best, but for the kit, V-Drums kill it.

i love roland with a passion. there drums last FOREVER and they have the best mesh heads on the market but come on. the most afordable kit is $999.99 in canada the next up is $1499 and they both have gum rubber heads aside from the snare. i think that what they want for these kits is rediculus but thats my OPINION please dont flame

@w1104717 what brain are you using? i owned Ions backalong, the frame sucks, and the pads felt worse than the HD1, i now have a TD-4 which i may link up to my Xbox :P (i sold the ions to help pay for a TD4)

i am using the ion brain. I use it to play rock band. I like the pads, have a good feel, but i replaced my ion cymbals with yamaha pcy130 cymbals and some pintech's and it makes a huge difference. Plus the rock pedal is a good pedal as well.

you can't just plug it into your xbox / ps3 like he says via midi - i have an electric kit, and you need to get an ION drum module to put all your wires in, then link that to the xbox.

thing is, the only way to get one is by actually buying an ion kit, then using the module from it.

basically, if you wanted to use the kit he shows there for rock band / GH, etc. you're still going to have to buy ions.
