Sorry, no old school characters on the PSP Transformers but yes to the customized weapon choices. But the PSP version does have something that the consoles don't have, multi-player mode, up to 4 players.

go to ign . com psp is a linear action game . no sandbox. no free roaming. but old school character will be unloackable. sideswipe thundercracker wheeljack and a few more. no lie check it out

Yes those unlockable characters are in there but the skins are in the newer Transformers style. You won't see the original Optimus, Starscream or Bumble Bee. :( There are a couple levels that let you wander around in a fairly big world but the design is still linear.

If I'm recalling correctly, the PSP version is a brawler. Featuring 1 on 1 bouts. That's mainly the reason WHY the PSP version holds more characters, gabrielnyc.

it sucks because the PSP ver. is going to have over 20 characters (more than the consoles!?! WTF), skins based on the original series and customizable weapons.
