Great job, it clearly shows how accurate is his voice and harmony. I enjoy listening to it this way, just to appreciate the pure singing talent McCartney has. Thanks!

Bob Dylan has revealed he is in awe of Paul McCartney.
In an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Dylan heaped praise on McCartney; speaking about the main songwriters in The Beatles: "They were fantastic singers. Lennon, to this day, it's hard to find a better singer than Lennon was, or than McCartney was and still is. "I'm in awe of McCartney. He's about the only one that I am in awe of. He can do it all. And he's never let up... He's just so damn effortless."
That is great to hear those words from Bob. They are both amazing, non stop Gemini wonders, who have given the world so much quality music over the last 5 decades.
I still enjoy Paul's voice. I've heard him when he sounded great and when he sounded not so good probably according to whether or not he was tired or fighting sore throat or whatever. This is a human being we're talking about. He's still easy on the ears even if he's losing some strength in his higher range. His mid and lower notes are still most often great. I like these cut down versions where you can listen to the vocals. You just can't say he can't still hit a clear sound dead on.
Art Garfunkel can still sing great ("I'm glad there is you") so it can't be the excessive pot smoking. I think Paul began his vocal decline in 1989 with the verses in "Motor of Love". I hold more hope in Julian capturing a Beatlesque vocal. I fear Paul favours spontanaeity over recording a good vocal. It ain't the old days friend, you have to work harder now (the opposite to Fireman).
I Think, despite the decline in his vioce, Brian Wilson still has a good vocal on some tracks, and so does fellow beach boy Al Jardine, who sounds neally exactly the same he did 40 years ago.
I was saddened at the lack of fanfare surrounding Brian and Paul's duet. Paul's vocal on the duet with George Michael was surprisingly good. A vocal turnaround is possible, just listen to Tim Finn. His voice went way down after his drinking from Greta Scacci leaving him. However he's turned it around (home demo of "I hope I never"). Al Jardine, while not as bad as Mike Love, is not easily forgiven for not protecting Brian. That being said, I did love his "Lookin' at tomorrow" on Landlocked.
As a person Mike Love seems a bit of a jerk, but musically i think he's quite good [on my other channel i have neally uploaded all of his unreleased 2005 album :S], I also think in the Beach Boys, Dennis was the highly underrated one, i mean, Pacific Ocean Blue, is a great album, as is the unfinished Bambu album, saying that, Bruce had some good musical moments, ie. Disney Girls.
@beatleboybob Paul's vocal range went rapidly downhill in the late-80's,over touring with Wings and then solo was definitely the reason, singing and shouting for 3 hours a night. Every artist loses their range as they get older but Macca can barely hit any of the notes from Beatles days unless he changes the key. He can still sing well in his range but recent concerts are embarrassing, must be frustrating as in younger days his voice was amazing and so versatile.
@5145robkolker your such a legend as Mccartney what was the name of your last hit or album, grammy, are you in the guinness book of records as the greatest songwriter of all time. the guy is almost 70 give me a break you goose

How were these "isolations" done? Intriguing.

One reviewer once said this is a 3rd rate McCartney ballad. Well I guess it is if you consider Yesterday 1st, No More Lonely Nights 2nd.

This is one of my favourite Macca songs of the 80's bloody great bass line in this song too.

I know, right. His bass lines rule. Sounds like stanley clarke in this.

Paul plays a Yamaha BB1200 bass (1979-1986 era), though on the official video he plays a mimed playing with his Rickenbacker 4001S.

I believe that Paul recorded this with Michael Jackson in mind. Jackson also recorded his version of this song.

Jaco Pastorius covered several Bealtes songs. Another tribute to Paul and the melodies of the Beatles.

i must admit much though i would love to disagree with you, your pretty nailed on right about macca.
hes my ultimate hero but the bit about taking a bit more time recording vocals is spot on!
i really dont want him to end up sounding like elton john does these days!

The duet between Brian Wilson and Paul McCartney was god-awful. It made 'The Girl Is Mine' seem like 'Say Say Say'.

@5145robkolker It's fascinating to hear a discussion on how bad someone sounds in his 60s compared to when he was in his 20s......
