Thanks When I was 14, I first saw the house. About 5 years later, the Lindsay administration started the NYC landmarks program. 10 years after that the Parks Department restored the house. Our family association pays to staff and operate the Museum. In the past few years, we have been expanding the museum's mission to include the African-American experience in New Amsterdam, and the interests of recent Carribean families in the neighborhood.
What a treasure to have from your family and what a wonderful thing to share with the community and visitors.

Congratulations, Jim. What an amazing family heirloom and living treasure for America, especially for our current generation to learn from.

Thanks for the comment. We will be raising a barn within the next few years, the first barn-raising in a century and a half!
