God, that's hilariously edgy! The slo-mo is a brilliant touch. I become the boyfriend seeing and hearing her penetrate my entire being. You could do this as a man and it would be equally effective. Thanks for the reminder of the perils of desperate love (but I bet their make-up session is off the charts even though it's a superbly dysfunctional relationship)
With the sound down, I noticed that this is a great angle from which to view that perky nose. Noses are an underestimated contributor to the facial gestalt. Patricia Clarkson has an awesome nose and so does Rossy De Palma, God help us.
The lighting gives the skin this scary biscuitey quality too. Is this what people mean when they say a performance was 'brave'?...i.e., that the actor suspended their vanity and consented to look like a biscuit for a few minutes? I used to joke with Gary (performer's brother) about 'pain filled twinkies.' D is the intensity-filled biscuit (an old computer thesaurus program defined 'intense' as: "Bright, dark, luxurious, rich."). Crazy but desirable...it's what makes the world go round.
"The girl can't help it. The girl can't help it." She's caught to the pain of emotional dependency, is confused, and is unable to see her way out. She's no pyscho she's just angry, but because of this emotional dependency she's also afraid to be angry. That's the "push-pull", I know I've been there.
Chilling psychological push-pull. If 'acting is reacting' and the other character is silent, then you can almost understand what's happening with this frightened and frightening character whose changing moods probably mirror the motion of her mind when she's all alone. I also like how life sometimes inhabits and then leaves the eyes. Also...why are crazy girls great in bed? Oh oh! I know! Because they understand the Dionysian mysteries: madness, wine, ecstacy...chaos is at the center of it all.
Whoa! Fascinating--it's a train wreck. You just can't help watching the madness unfold, yet it's hilarious. I dig this channel! I think I dated her in the 90's...
This is scary, seeing my life on You Tube
