You are justifying not following the sage orders God inflicted on his chosen people. Human laws are human laws, but it seems odd that people would assert that God's own morality changes over time.

I'm NOT a Jew, so I would not have obeyed these laws had I lived 1000s of years ago. God's morality hasn't changed an iota. Once this portion of His plan was accomplished, He revealed yet more about Himself in Christ. When I was shaping my kid's behavior (to the best of my ability), they had rules. As they matured, I revealed even more of my expectations for them. I didn't ask them to do algebra when they started walking, but I expected it when they reached that point in their lives.

I'll just have a go at the slavery one. A slave was to be kept forever if he said to his master, "I really love you, and would like to be your slave forever".
Otherwise, every slave would be automatically freed after maximum of 7 years of service.
What's more, the Biblical slavery was not like what men have made slavery into these days - or more like what muslims have made slavery into.

Nope. The jewish slaves were freed every 7 years - that's what the bible says. The slaves from outside could be kept in the family "forever." That's what the bible says. Explicit permission to have slaves even unto this very day.

@TheFallibleFiend Back then poor people who had no money to even buy food would sell themselves into slavery, and then they would eat and be clothed and according to Biblical guideline be treated well. Some when it came time to be freed every Jubilee years didn't even want to leave their masters.
OTOH the slaves of muslims are freed by their life suddenly ending, through cruelty, starvation of other ill treatment.

@Ammyai They didn't want to leave their masters at jubilee, because they were jews and jews were not ruled over with harshness (whereas there was no problem with being permitted to be harsh with nonjewish slavish). There are other ways a real god might have dealt with this than giving the OK to slavery. I agree Islam is nonsense; so is Christianity. I don't know which is worse.

The Qur'an sanctions the raping of married slaves.
quran 4:23 "Prohibited to you are: your mothers, daughters, sisters.... Also (prohibited are) women already married, except slaves who are captives."

If evil people do evil acts in the name of Christianity, then the shame is on stupid people who believe they are actual Christians. There are no commands in the Bible for Christians to do any kind of evil or violence.
However, that is not the case in the quran, which I understand better than most. It is a book of violence and hatred and way to hellfire.

@engrsamer In Luke 19:12 – 19:27 Jesus is telling a story about a man who was made a king. It is a STORY, and the words you think are Jesus' words to kill His enemies are NOT, they are the words of the king in the STORY.

Luk 19:12 He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return.
It was the "certain nobleman" in the story who had been made king that said the words.

I think when I suffer my first attack from a Christian threatening to chop my head off, it will be put under a microscope. No group on our planet, crediting themselves as the only legitimate overseers of the world, is as ignorant and dangerous as are the votaries of Muhammad's islam. If you're atheist, islam calls for your crucifixion. Ouch! You won't even get a chance to become a dhimmi and pay the jizya; you go straight to the cross in a public arena.

Not all muslims act like this; they say the other guys aren't *real* muslims. Other cultists aren't quite as ignorant and dangerous as Islamists. So we don't need to be skeptical of the Jim Jones Christians (Michael Travessor, etc) of the world, because they're not like, you know, real xians.

You need to read the koran (and the *scholar's* exegesis) to learn about islam; allah gives them full permission to lie about this cult to protect it. The "peaceful muslims" are not following Muhammad's teachings or his sunnah. The Taliban and bin Laden are the perfect muslims who follow Muhammad's foul teachings to the letter and the spirit. Learn about abrogation/taqiyya in the koran; it is a vital component for muslim deception.

I have read the Quran. Have not read from their "scholars." Don't care to. The book is uninteresting to me (for the most part) and not worth expending more effort on. I've also read most of the Bible. Also, not very interesting (except a few parts). Some people who consider themselves experts on its teachings have some pretty hateful interpretations of its contents.

Then reread the 9th sura, and you can't possibly get the full impact of the koran's teachings without reading the *scholars* which are available in English. The nastiest and filthiest teachings will never be translated from the Arabic, but there is a plethora of Arabic speakers in the web who are devoted/tireless teachers of the filth of this death-cult. English translations are nauseating enough, but they clearly show that islam is a cult of penis/death-worship, nothing else.

Agreed that Allah and Islam are the main targets fro crit. On my side of the fence, though, I crit ALL religions.
Blasphemy at least ten times a day for me and twice as much on whatever day you consider to be the sabbath ... ummm ... Friday? Saturday? Sunday? I have even been known to pick up sticks seven days a week. Ooops! Then again, I have an iron chariot.
