Hogil should have taken one of the drones he used to block with and started to build a colony with it. Oversky would have had to take at least a few lings off attacking the hatchery to go after it and that would have bought Hogil some time. Also, considering that he ended up just hanging back with his remaining lings, those minerals would definitely have been better spent on a few mutas to scare Oversky's lings off.

What reasons are there for this map being zerg dominated?

I think it's because Zerg can destroy those double assimilators near the enemies natural, and bigger sized units such as vultures and dragoons can't pass through while Zerglings can (so enemies have to build production buildings outside their base or use transports to take out their units)

I spent some time over the last few months playing a fair bit of C&C Generals, which although now dated is a hell of a strategy game and has great graphics and interface to boot. I then fired up Starcraft for the first time in a year and was grossly disappointed. The game mechanics are fine but the interface and graphics are just too sad-sack at this point to be suffered. SC2 can't come fast enough.
