  • The rails would make a good animal trap!

  • srry generic but it's still not working for me :/. So is it just a line of redstone directly under the stone brick in which the torch is on? sorry for bothering u

  • @TheEssentialChickenx no worries man, there's a few ways to do it...try using repeaters to power the block that the torch is on that might help

  • @Generikb kk thnx, i'll keep trying :)

  • Dear Generikb, how did u put all the rails to turn on using one switch?

  • @TheEssentialChickenx it's not too hard, i have a redstone torch next to each set of powered rails in the front, then a long line of redstone dust underneath to power it.

  • @Generikb THNX :D ps This is the coolest animal farm i think I've ever seen :D

  • How do u get the sheeps in the minecart?

  • @naviisawesome wheat and patience!

  • why do they need to move?

  • @99moneylover So they don't get out of the carts when you log out.

  • subbed

  • Put a piece of glass at the end of the track to contain the sheep after logging out :]

  • y do u need to make them move?

  • I've been looking for thsi thing for a looong time, thx!

  • what is the point of making them move?

  • how can u get different color sheep? also yaa can we have a map download to test theses stuff lol

  • @DrunkenCheetahh You just use dyes on them. Some dyes are bone marrow, coco beans, using flowers, or lapis.

  • could we have a map download please please please :D

  • "The baby pops out"

    Well said.

  • HYMM... need do some testing mayby i gonna use that idea.... its small and usefull... but need something i dont know what ?

  • howd u get the sheep in the carts in the first place

  • @MinecraftMexi if you lead a sheep with wheat into a moving cart, they will hop in. I usually build everything except for the front blocks, then push the sheep in. It's not as hard as it sounds, and you only have to do it once ;-)

  • @Generikb great video! You just got another subscriber

  • @forevereon awesome! glad to have you! :-D

  • why do they have to move on the rails?

why can't they just stay still

  • @strpr0wng check my responses to the previous commenters, it's to make it logout friendly :)

  • @generikb Ok i am uploading a video to my channel of what i have so far. its nothing much but i just thought i would update you on this. (this is raw footage so excuse the lack of editing and such. i am also using my computer mic instead of my headset.)

  • How do you get the sheeps in the cart?

  • Now you need to build something big and colorful with all that wool. :)

  • Always good stuff : )

  • This is the very clever. How do you get the sheep into the minecarts?

  • comment. Showing love her. (no homo)

  • @generikb have you considered vertical Stacking? I know the water streams would be a problem, but im sure you could work around that. Would you like me to work on a model and post a video? I have a good idea on a vertical and horisontal design (as in stacking them vertically and horisontally) with a loop to be 100% log out friendly.

  • @AnadrinS stacking them vertically is doable but probably awkward to breed (breed from a ladder? haha) but go for it, play around see what you come up with!

  • @Generikb Ima try this tomorrow if i have enough sheeps :D

  • @vinsi55 awesome let me know how you like it!

  • @vinsi55 It works as good as yours :). I tryed to uploade the vid on yt but it wont...

  • @vinsi55 wrong lol

  • What is the F 0 and 1? I have never heard of that...

  • @MrWarcrazy It's the direction you're facing. The baby animal always comes out in the direction of 0 or 1, depending on the position of the adult animals. 0, 1, 2, and 4 each represent East, North, West, and South, but I'm not sure in which order.

  • @Iseedeadkittens666 East, North, West OR South, I meant.

  • waiting for each baby to be birth is a little slow and annoying, it might be worth the efffort to space them out more

  • @unexceptionalrebel it's not too bad actually, but if it bugged you ya you could space them out another block or two.

  • @generikb Have you tried sending them into a constant loop? That would be 100% logout friendly!

  • @AnadrinS yep absolutely, but loops can take up a lot of room...this was designed to be as compact as possible and modular...16 of these things (one for each color) is a lot!

  • LOL at the random pig surrounded by glass.

  • @BradyhahaPSN haha you never know when you need a pig...i have chickens like that too ;-)

  • on a more serious note, nice job! I probably will use something like it, but a little more fancy. so kudos!

  • SEGREGATING SHEEP BY COLOR? YOU MONSTER.

  • @ljz1988 thatsracist.gif ;-)

  • "There is a little bit of a crunch noise, but that's alright." Made me die laughing at work.

  • @Darknesschaos hahah ;-)

  • @Generikb I was thinking, in the places where blocks can't be placed because the stop the breeding, could you place something that isnt considered a block (i.e. Half slab, glass, leaves, stairs, two slab block, etc.). It's the same general idea as what you did in your video about putting them over chests.

  • @123firebird4 that's very possible, play around with it and see what happens!

  • @Generikb Ill check it out when i have some free time!

  • @Generikb Nice to see you've got the track thingy worked out. Sorry for side tracking you with that free-range monstrosity suggestion. It was a good idea at the time after a few beers. :D

  • Man, some of the related videos to this are disturbing! haha

For the far ends of the breeder track, could you have a slope instead of an always powered booster rail? I'm just thinking, it would be a tiny bit lighter on resources and maybe help decrease the chances of things going pear shaped on log out.

  • @lazysammich hah yeah someone mentioned that as well, I'm wondering if sloping both ends would work well...going to have to test it!

  • wait whats the point of the minecarts is it just to hold the sheep

  • @BAMitsCHEESE it helps control where the baby comes out and forces the baby to go to a block other than where the parent is. Otherwise, they will stand right under the momma or just somewhere random.

  • The mechanisms are great but this seems somehow...horrifying...probably doesn't help that the baby keeps spawning behind one of the parent sheep...

  • This is smart but what I don't understand is why you need to have the sheep in the moving minecarts.

  • @CallumFergy The minecarts are to make it easier to breed them by having them in the right place all the time, in turn allowing him to ensure where the baby will spawn allowing him to centralise them all.

The moving minecarts are to prevent them getting loose, because animals can escape minecarts between logins if the cart is stationary.

  • You're like a mad scientist from Nazi times, B. Clone all the things!

  • @scjoiner clone ALL the things Herr Doktor Von GeneriKB!

  • So........ how did you find them?

  • @DN97xCFC find the colored sheep? It was really difficult, especially the blue ones!

(Ok I lied...I used dyes on the sheep ;-)

  • Comment removed

  • so... how do u get them into minecarts (im sorta a noob at mc)

  • @BAMitsCHEESE I usually lure them with wheat, push them onto the track with the moving minecart (they will automatically jump into the minecart at that point), and then I place the front blocks. Pretty simple!

  • @BAMitsCHEESE just put some track and a minecart down and lure them with some wheat so they walk into the cart *hehe*

  • OMG SHEEP 9-BALL WOULD BE AWESOME!!!

  • @andy93h hah can you imagine? ;-)

  • what i really dont understand is why the minecarts should be moving, can't they just stay still all the time at the "breeding" station?

  • @d1ggums see my response to pyro below I explain why

  • @d1ggums When you exit a world and enter it again any mobs in stationary minecarts exit them. If they are moving however you can exit the world without problems

  • I have a more compact way then you show at the start just make a circle from 4 (normal) rails en put 2 minecarts with animals in it

  • @vinsi55 what makes them move (to be logout friendly) and how does the breeding occur? interesting idea, I'm intrigued!

  • @Generikb the first 1 push the 2 and the 2 push the first 1

  • Please Put Up a Tut how to make a easy elevator PLEASE!!! :D:D:D:D:

  • @KTOxxGANGSTERx check my "organic cow farm" tutorial, I make an elevator there step-by-step!

  • Very nice :)

compact and ressource light i like it

hm to get rid of the falldamage you could halfslab the drops and put the waterscorce one block higher (well that would mean a additional sign in the channel)

..hm i wonder do passive mobs recover health?

I don't think hostile mobs do, but according to the wiki boats and minecarts do

  • @DerDracoX well, not too worried about the fall damage since you shear/kill the babies anyway. I don't think they recover health either...but I wonder if their health gets "reset" when they become adults?

  • @Generikb Just tested it, it don't seems passives heal or reset their health upon maturing.

I punched a babysheep 4 times (jeah hate me folks, but its for sience! ;) ) and let the game running half an hour but it still took only 4 more hits to kill the grown sheep

This is intresting for cows and moosrooms i think if you weaken them enough trough some falldamage there might be no need for a additional crusher to finish them off

  • BenerikG that is?

  • What would happen if you put track on slope?

  • @Aifryz might help! I'll give it a test and see!

  • @generikb why do thay need to move after your done breeding?

  • @PyroZuvr Minecraft has a bug/feature where if a mob is in a stationary minecart when you log out, they will jump out of the minecart when you log back in. So the workaround is to have the minecarts constantly moving when you log out. My design is "99% logout friendly" because there's still a rare chance that you log out right when a minecart reaches the end of the track before heading back the other direction.

  • @Generikb to help minimize the possibility of the sheep jumping out, you could lengthen the track by a few more blocks, this would reduce the possibility that the sheep is at the end of the track when you log out. In any case, if you encase the tracks like I did in my video it's pretty easy to just push the rogue sheep back in :)

  • good work!

  • wow this is realy good!!!

  • Thanks i was thinking of a way to make the breading better then just put them in a box then kill the babies after it grows up :P

  • @TheUltimatedShow that's what I'm currently doing and it's super annoying ;-) The one benefit of that "old school" setup though is you can have multiple sheep per color, thus gathering more wool per shearing session. That's why I was trying to incorporate my organic farm design into this...but it wasn't working well at all haha

  • @Generikb I hope I'm not the only person to think of this but add dispensers above the sheep stops, fill them with wheat, add A redstone pulser onto this via A RS latch attached to the switch that activates them once the switch has be hit :P Then just add a secondary reset switch via A block on the end of a sticky piston which is constantly powered in the pulser circuit as to create an easy reset situation. Hope you can implement these designs before someone like me does ;)

  • @simo33z I have no idea what you're saying there ;-) You mean something to spit out some wheat when you're ready to breed?

  • @Generikb Yeah pretty much, have you seen FVDisco's pig powered slot machine, the concept behind it is what would make this into A fully automatic design. If you would like I can attempt to create A version and link it to you :)
