"Push the Button, Max" was the unofficial Captain's command for the First Officer to engage the auto-throttles on the Boeing 737's and 757's at the airline I retired from.
Jack Lemmon should have been at least nominated for a best supporting actor oscar for playing BOTH Professor Fate AND Prince Frederick Hapnick.
and RIP Peter Falk is what I think was his best ever comedy roll as Max.

1964 Hannibal 8, custom built by Warner Bros at a cost of $150,000 ($150,000 in 1964 is equivalent to over $1 million today). All hand constructed, it is a true work of art. Powered by a Corvair 6 cyl and 3 speed manual transmission; all 4 rear wheels are powered and chain driven. It has a cannon that emerges and retracts from the cars bonnet and a functional smoke screen.

Lemmon hated doing this film mostly because he had to scream his lines on every take.

Push the button, Max! My mom has said that to me ever since I was little. :)

I say "push the Button, Max!" as a joke, and people don't get my reference. it's a shame how few people in the modern age have seen this film.

Faulk and Lemmon are a great comedic duo and should have done more. Every American boy in the 60's wanted a Hannibal Twin 8s.

The entire cartoon series 'The Wacky Races' was based on this movie and YES, Jack Lemmon's Professor Fate is whom they modeled Dick Dastardly after.

I miss Jack Lemmon and think he gave one of his funniest performances in this picture. Pure genius.

Prof. Fate had the greatest laugh in the history of cinema. Everytime he laughs it cracks me up!

Thanks for the upload! I love this movie. You might want to fix the tags; it's Jack Lemmon, not Lemon.

Heh heh heh... Jeez, there will never be another Jack Lemmon. We were lucky to have him.

He like a cross between Daffy Duck, Snidely Whiplash, The Grinch and The Nostalgia Critic.
