  • Colbert is funny because he reminds us that our intellect must set limits on emotional stupidity. As long as people treat their beautiful feelings as sacred and allow them to roam wherever they will, without regard for fact or objectivity, Colbert will have endless fodder for his satire.

  • He is a catholic?!?!?! WHAT?! i could have never imagined! what an amazing guy!

  • 2:10 Homer Simpson is catholic?

  • the ending part cured my depression nice one colbert

  • Stephen Colbert.. FTW

  • I L0VE STEPHEN C0LBERT

  • 0:08 hahahaha

  • AND BOOM, STEPHEN COLBERT WITH THE showing his feminine side HEADSHOT!

  • He should have stayed gone. There's no sense in giving these people the time of day.

  • The View is so stupid. Oh being a woman's so cool like oh my god...feminist bull shit. BACK TO THE KITCHEN YOU WITCH!

  • This show gives a perfect example why woman dont run this country lol. Now make me a damn sandwhich.

  • Colbert > Stewart anyday. He even called Whoopi out for being rude.

  • This guy is the best. And he did the smart thing keeping the total (and ugly) idiots to his right so he can throw a backhand if the things got tough :)

  • "I hope that applause is for my mother's womb."

  • I just noticed I was sitting here smiling to myself like and idiot for the last minute or two of the video. I like that that guy and I like what he says.

  • A rare look at the real Stephen Colbert. Kind of refreshing.

  • What is this bullshit ass Ron Paul advertisement at the beginning of the video and at the corner of the page? Fucking stop.

  • Colbert is the man

  • 2:52- the real stephen colbert

  • Stephen Colbert is a GREAT person!

  • Steven, you're just wonderful!

  • Colbert is a "celeb" that I would actually enjoy meeting in real life.

  • lol he always dips back into jokes just when you think he's about to get serious

  • cool socks whoopie

  • I wish I had his ability to dodge attacks like that. He does it so well it looks graceful.

  • What a card...good for you, Steph C! Way to go.

  • fear is useful?????

  • Ads lasting more than double the time of the video itself...

  • COLBERT FOR PRESIDENT!!

  • Colbert's comedy is essentially taboo awkwardness.

  • @Dannunaki That's what makes it so great ;)

  • Any baptist claiming others "dont have a clue" is clearly humorous irony to me.

  • Any baptist claiming others "dont have a clue" is clearly humorous irony to me.

  • Any baptist claiming others "dont have a clue" is clearly humorous irony to me.

  • He's from Charleston, SC.

  • STEPHEN COLBERT 2012.

  • If you accept your suffering, you can understand people better. Excellent wisdom, Mr. Coooolbert.

  • If you accept your suffering, you can understand people better. Excellent wisdom, Mr. Coooolbert.

  • If you accept your suffering, you can understand people better. Excellent wisdom, Mr. Coooolbert.

  • If you accept your suffering, you can understand people better. Excellent wisdom, Mr. Coooolbert.

  • Colbert for President!!!

  • despite the fact that hes hilarious and cracks jokes, steven is a pretty damn smart man

  • this is guy is one of the funniest guy on the earth

  • "Out ancestors who weren't afraid of snakes did not reproduce"

    Colbert is a sexual genius

  • Fuck ya Colbert!!! ;D

  • his sense of humor is choppy & adorrrable!!

  • He's far too intelligent

  • COOOOOLLLLLLBBERRRTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Women, they're trying to understand humor again...

  • Anthropologically his comment about snakes is correct. Animals that fear or have the most phobias have longer life spans.

  • "grateful for pain"

what a Catholic, un-Biblical, way of thinking lol

  • @puffykilled2pac I'm a Southern Baptist and you obviously haven't a clue.

  • @puffykilled2pac You really shouldn't be talking about things that you don't know about...

  • home simpson is a protestant not a catholic, good video clip tho

  • does barbra say homer simpson around 2:08?

  • Why are the women not understanding the simple fact he mentions at the beginning? It's absolutely true that our ancestors who didn't fear dangerous predators, such as snakes, would have died off and been prevented from reproducing, causing the current gene pool to reflect this fact, as evidenced by the fact that most people today have an inherent fear of snakes. It's like the women don't even take a minute to pause and understand this basic idea of evolution.

  • LOVE his smile at 2:44! You can tell he loves his mother very much :)

  • @TheThestralGirl1901 lol i like it when the real Stephan comes out

  • Colbert is a total boss at life

  • i just love him to Pieces

  • Stephen: And... strangley enough be grateful for one's pain. In my youth I never could have understood that... NOW I can. It is through our own experiences of pain that we gain compassion for the pain of others.

  • The look of adoration on his face when he's talking about his mom pulling through tragedy is so cute.

  • Apparently social Darwinism doesn't make any sense??

  • went from hilarious to sweet

  • Love life and not become bitter=) That's advice I'd like to follow more often

  • I love this man. I would never ever go on that wretched show. Power to him for showing and trying to have a laugh.

  • That snake thing made perfect scense

  • Stephen is a wonderful human being.

  • phenomenal guy, this Colbert.

  • He breaks character towards the end, and it's sweet to see him talk about his family. But seriously, do people still not understand that when he's in character, the whole thing is a joke?

  • I like Stephen Colbert's humor but I still think Bill O'reilly is an idiot. Then again it isn't out of white people's nature to categorize everyone together based on the negative actions of the few. All Muslims are not suicidal terrorist. Besides, the biggest terror which a bigger threat to us is the mindless legislatures in our Congress. The world would be so much better if you could just see it as individuals. My bad, some are just too high up to see that far down. Peace out.

  • Woah, anyone else notice the three ladies on the right all have their legs crossed in the same pattern O_o

  • Actually, he is a practicing catholic and teaches sunday school, or at least he used to before he made it big. He's been a comedian for many years so it's likely he did that along with stand up. Yes, he's a character, but some things he says are based on his life. He's not the super conservative he portrays on TV but that doesn't mean he's the complete opposite of his character...

  • @paintballer3377 the pope believes in evolution AND the big bang--he just believes that god caused the big bang

  • He's so great

  • He is amazing.

  • his first point about the fear of serpents is actually true (aside from the dumbing down of evolution). all primates have an inborn fear of snakes inherited from a common ancestor, look it up. sad that he had to break character to mention a fact about evolution, though.

  • Stephen Colbert is the reason why I flip to Comedy Central.

  • oh Stephen, it's people like you that make Catholics look good, if only FOX News didn't work so hard to counter that

  • hehee, <3

  • What some people don't realize is that Steven is the opposite of the character he portrays on TV...he's actually not religious nor is he a republican. :)

  • Hommer isn't Catholic... dumb bitch needs to watch the Simpsons.. hell even a Episode where they fight the Catholics lol.

  • omfg these women have the worst senses of humour I have ever experienced

  • he is the best tv personality alive today. i love how seamlessly he goes from being in character to being real. he's also never a jackass which is nice.

  • Homer Simpson is "Luthertarian", not Catholic.

  • He's a fucking riot!

  • Brava for his mama!!

  • I looooove Stephen. <3

  • Woah, I didn't know that about Colbert.

  • wow, what his mother taught him was amazing

  • He just lights up when he talks about his mother!

  • Colbert is smarter than any one of those women.

  • Wow...he loves his mom a lot. See that look he gave?

  • president colbert . sounds good to me

  • I guess she doesn't think natural selection makes sense.

  • This is why Colbert should be allowed to run for president!

  • Wow he got real for 15 seconds that was surprising, man I love colbert.

  • NO ONE CAN BEAT THE COLBERT!

  • hes great

  • These woman cannot take a joke, even Colbert was put off at points

  • that was awesome...

i feel like i like him just a little more now

and i totally loved him before

  • this guy is sooooooo dry! nothing he says or does is funny!

  • aww, he loves his mama :)

  • "I hope that applause is for my mother's womb." HAHA, I love it.

  • and the Emmy goes to Stephen Colbert.

  • His face when they mention his mother (':

  • HE A GOOD GUY:)

  • Stephen Colbert is SO awesome...he is sharp.

  • The funniest thing is that the right wing morons all think that Colbert is actually a newsman. Satire. Comedy. WHOOOOSHHHHHHHHH. They just dont get it. LOL

  • i'm not religious at all, but love Colbert. not his views, but his personality.

  • Colbert never breaks character, but he sure did on this interview. Was nice to see his real side for a change.

  • He looks really tall to me

  • If you don't have a real example of a stupid Republican you invent one. Seems like a nice enough guy out of character.

  • @TheMrTTT That has been the role of The Daily Show over the years*. It's not very difficult to make fun of Republicans. Colbert just took the basic model of the O'Reilly factor and created a personality roughly based on a stereotypical "right wing pundit" and changed it a unique personality that is pretty funny. But Colbert never comes off as malicious in his humor.

*Even though the humor is spot on, I dislike TDS because I feel that it tries to make light of something that is deadly serious.

  • Stephen Colbert IS my hero

  • hes awesome. i watch his show at 6:30 everyday

  • HOMER SIMPSON IS NOT A CATHOLIC! Reverend Lovejoy???

  • Suffering should never be accepted. You're dead as a human being. A living creature, when you allow yourself to accept suffering.

  • @miekabon Uh, I think that's not the point.

  • At the end when he was talking about his mom, he broke character. You can tell - his demeanor, voice, and mannerisms change.

He's such a sweetheart. God bless you Colbert.

  • actually muslims weren't the terrorist, our government was. Thers outstanding evidence showing the zionist elites did it. They want to divide and conquer christian & muslim. theyre creating mass confusion! The mosque was a hoax to add wood to the fire. Do not believe mass media!

  • I would have never walked on the view

  • I didnt know that about Stephens past, incredible that he is so lively and happy and energetic.. Def my fav satire performer a long side iwth you know how.. xD You the man Stephen!

  • "I hope that applause is for my mother's womb."

    ROFL

  • It's amazing to see Stephen break character and be his true self, if only briefly. But it must have sucked to play that room of people, the majority of whom have probably never seen the Report or even understood that he's a character.

  • He's such a sweetheart.

  • Stephen Colbert and John Stewart should run for office.

  • @joshwallace207 They would win too.

  • John his brother was my history teacher Stephen came in and we met him great guy.

  • I hate that people say it's wrong to build a mosque on Ground Zero. You'd be perfectly okay with a church wouldn't you? What so wrong about a mosque then? The terrorists actions don't define what every Muslim in the world believes. What they did completely undermines Muslim principles. Stop being ignorant bastards!

  • he is my fav.

  • GO Stephen Colbert!

  • wow america we've got issues

  • Colbert for president!

  • STEVEN PWNS.

  • I love how some of them can't tell that he's playing a character. I can't believe some people are still unaware of that after all these years...

  • C'mon folks, he didn't actually walk off the set, he was playing around. Watch the video entirely

  • When I saw the title of this video, I thought there was going to be a walk-off Zoolander style.

  • When I saw the title of this video, I thought there was going to be a walk-off Zoolander style.

  • When I saw the title of this video, I thought there was going to be a walk-off Zoolander style.

  • i'm reading a lot of comments saying he's in character all the time.

the last answer about his mom was amazing. was that "in character" because that seemed pretty genuine. and he jokes about christianity all the time but he is actually a christian in real life.

  • @idis0abad He and Bart converted when Liam Neeson guest starred a few years ago.

  • Wow, like half of his family died in a plane crash...

  • The catholic church is constantly claiming certain people are catholic in order to recruit more idiots into their church. If you watch the show, they attend some sort of christian church, not catholic which reverend lovejoy is the celebrant.

  • Its amazing to see the disparity of intelligence between Colbert and these couch-loving bubbleheads

  • What a great character he has created for himself.

  • Do people not understand that he is a character?

  • I didn't know that there is actually people that don't know he is in character.

  • Good grief...was that Maria S. as the slutty news anchor from "The View"...wow...Botox to the max their baby!

  • Stephen Colbert is an atheist, he's faking the christian thing. He loves science

  • @TurkiyeCumhurbaskani Colbert isn't faking the Christian thing at all, he's a pretty devout Catholic in real life.

  • Barbra: Homer Simpson is a Catholic and you are a Catholic...

Myself: But his creator (Matt Groening) isn't one, so why on earth would you include something as dumb as that in your question??

  • I . LOVE . HIM~!!!!!!!!

  • this dude never broke character in years that he is on TV. just plays the role all the way trough 24/7

  • I'm always amused when there are STILL people who don't understand Stephen Colbert. He's a comedian!

  • I don't think I've ever heard Stephen ever say a true answer. That was amazing. He must've been thinking "Damn that was a good question"

  • Colbert is utterly genius. Personally I think he's at his best when he's just "winging it" such as in this video.

  • what a genius. i feel bad for ppl who don't know he's in character.

  • My respect for Colbert just went up like 100 times.

Still love life, and not be bitter.

    Everybody suffers.

Accept your suffering, then you're going to understand other people better.

    Be grateful for your pain.

  • @bluealbedo It feels great. XD

  • Stephen Colbert is so hot XD

  • Stephen Colbert Super Pac

  • Yea if i was any conservative i would never go on that show because in the first 10 seconds i would be arrested

  • Stephen's back story makes me love him even more

  • Stephen Colbert is a genuis. The Dan Akroyd of his generation.

  • colbert is awesome

  • colbert kinda just owned whoopi goldberg

  • "She Taught us to still love life and not be bitter, and to realize that everbody suffers, and if you can accept your suffering than you'll just understand people better, and strangly enough you have to be grateful of pain"....just amazing.

  • Homer Simpson is a Catholic. Stephen Colbert is a Catholic.

    Homer Simpson is Stephen Colbert!

  • Gotta love Colbert, he Rick Rolls both sides

  • i like colbert but o'reilly is a stupid cunt
