the best was in my opinion silent hill 2 in fact i beat it today-Aug.15, 2009(good ending)and i also liked homecoming a lot, SH4 was terrible idc what anyone else thinks i just hated playing a game when u arent truly in silent hill(and those bullshit ghosts!) i lost intereste in SH4 and only beat it to say that i have beaten every game in the series / \ /_ \ /I\__II / I I I I I I / \ I I / \ I/

Silent Hill is such a great game series...love them all without exception. The best eerrie atmosphere..can't compare to Resident Evil.

indeed theres one coming but producers prefer to call it a reimaging of th events on the first one and tis coming to nintendo wii ps2 and psp sorry but theres no link to give you this time because its all images and no sample or video of game play but its real the reimaging of the first silent hill is comin and it will be called shattered memories

Resident evil changed when it got to 4, and it replaced hard puzzles and phsychological horror with action, unlike silent hill. They kept their basic princibles and soared way higher than resident evil

your gonna have to expand the title into 2009. silent hill 5 is gonna probably be released in 2009. i hope it wont only be for the ps3. even though i dont have any next gen systems, most likely i will some day lol.

i never played silent hill 1-3. i only played silent hill 4 but never finished it. scared the hell out of me. im playing origins right now but im following a guide on how to play it. ill get lost and scared out of my mind if i dont. and running around i dont know where to go.

Yeah, Silent Hill V.... I work at HMV and we have a release date of 9 September 2008 I think and will continue to 'Hope' for it!!!

Origins comes out on the 25th of May 2008 on the PS2! I'm playing on the PSP but find the PSP screen to small & to shinny (keep seeing my own face and not the bad guy!) So if you get a 40 or 60GB PS3 you can play on your big screen

console specific games are dying out. It used to be Sonic on the Saga and Mario on the Nintendo but now that the main games aren't made by the manufacturers of the console but 3rd party companies, they sell the game to all consoles (and PC) to widen the market. In a way it is benifical to us the gamers as the more money the deveopers make the bigger the budget of future games as well as higher profile. We now live in a world where games development is competing with major blockbuster movies.

This means that games have the ability to be much more immersive by paying more attention to detail in the plot structure and artistic look. Of course there are always going to be some bad ones out there that are just trying to cash in on a franchise (#cough LOST #cough) with repetitive gameplay and weak storylines but public opinion and demand for better, well structured games will always win out in the end.

I wouldn't say they are dying out, but I will say they have changed. For example, companies like Microsoft and Sony will pay third party developers to keep their high profile games exclusive to their platform (this never used to be the case in past generations). Halo and Metal Gear Solid are perfect examples of this. Also, silent hill was never really exclusive to Sony's platforms, SH2 was actually for PC, ps2 and Xbox. But money is definately the reason why.

Exactly, but the question the third party companies have to ask themselves is "would we make more money releasing on multiple platforms or taking the console exclusive payout"

thats where the company that owns the platform comes in. Most third party developers know that cross platforming will make them more money, but for the bigger titles the console owners will pay huge compensations for the developer to keep it exclusive. So I guess it all depends on the popularity of the title and the developer.

I liked the way you synced the end of the song with the way you presented Silent Hill 5. But I actually think this video would have been better if you had used actual video entirely instead of mostly using screen shots. But what you did show were very good representations for each game. Silent Hill is definitely my favorite series, but somehow I feel the series has really died., even if this new dev team is doing a SH5. But origins was good, so 5 has potential as well. Also, Akira Yamaoka ftw!
