I volunteered at a "NO Kill" shelter for quite sometime, as a walker, caretaker and vet tech. Yes I also adopted from there. This shelter also put animals down, after a time, even through the pleas of volunteers. Yes, volunteers know better than anyone the personalities of all the animals, and fit them with families for the best of everyone. Needless to say I stopped volunteering and yes the emotional toll was unbearable. Thank you for putting the reality out there that only a few know.

Such a touching video. I've volunteered at a "no-kill" shelter before, but the people that work with animals who may have to be euthanized are heroes to me.
