these do need air , this crab sits on top of the filter out of the water,

under water islands are great for them

these crabs need brackish water!!! they should have 2/3 land and only brackish water. They are mainly land crabs.

@candy18869 You can buy an underwater island for them. I have one and he loves it. There called Atlantis Underwater Islands and they are great for tanks with fish and crabs together. Hope this helps

How do you tell if a red clawed crab is a male or female and I just got mine they are in a 10 gallon tank their is two 1 stays in the water and 1 hides in the fern. Is this normal or is something wrong?

they'll eat anything, salad should be fine as a treat, but not as a main diet- lots of protein & calcium. Male crabs tend to have larger claws

the crab eats almost anything , its a scavenger , he loves frozen bloodworm brine shimp etc.. but he will eat a bit of ham if you put it in the tank .

he eats the fish when one dies
