@HoopCharmer I've just started doing this. It looks very pretty to watch but is hard work, lol. The first day I started my hips felt like they'de been hit by a sledge hammer. It's really fun thow. Good excersise for me as well.
@nastynas9000 At the beginning it is definitely more painful. Just keep it up and before you know it you'll stop bruising as much... it gets a lot easier. Much Love~
@harrysfan101 Thanks! It may hurt for a bit, I would give it a week or 2 to heal up, but once it is healed, it shouldn't be a problem at all with the hoop.
I REALLY LIKE WHAT YOU DO AND HAVE A COMPLETE RESPECT FOR HOOPING. I AM INSPIRED TO MAKE IT A SOURCE OF FITNESS AND RELAXATION. WHERE CAN I GET A HOOP THAT APPEARS TO WORK WITH A ADULT SCALE?
I first saw a video of you that Kiwi posted on facebook awhile back... then randomly found you on youtube today watching other hooping stuff.... love your style! Seriously you are amazing. I just started hooping last week and love it! Thanks for the inspiration!
You are beautiful! Keep it up girly! Oh, and what size hoops are you using for those moves? My hoop is giving me crazy bruises when I do knee/ shoulder hooping, I think it's too heavy for dancing.
You are beautiful! Keep it up girly! Oh, and what size hoops are you using for those moves? My hoop is giving me crazy bruises when I do knee/ sholder hooping, I think it's too heavy for dancing.
Fine hoopin'. Just discovered this, though I'm sure there's a long herstory to it. Hoopin' is way kinetic; a good, solid science session. Science and gorgeous women? This could be the path to real change. Respect. Think about it.
@jbharuch Hey there... thanks for watching! :-) I absolutely believe it to be a path to real change... its done so much for me.. its inspired countless others. To express oneself through creative movement... to move in flow with sacred geometry... There is something special going on here for sure! :-)
@sailormesha Its much easier to teach if I was actually there with you, but here's a pointer...
As you work to bring it up, keep one leg solid and start to open the other leg out and up at the same time, so that you're slowly bumping the hoop up. Most people are thinking of doing both, but only end up doing one or the other... try to be concious of that and remember to do both... as you slowly work the hoop up, you can turn into it once it hits your thighs, which pulls it the rest of the way.
@HoopCharmer hmmm I think I understand what your talking about, but I have trouble slowing the hoop down to actually angle my pusher leg i guess up...and i'm using a 160 psi 3/4 width, 38 diameter....would it be easier if i was using a lighter one to get it slow down? or am I just not really getting it? lol
@TheHoopTorinater Well obviously you would know more than me, considering I am not there in person watching you do it. If you think its your arms, it could be that you arent angling them straight up, they could be pointed at an angle and it wont work in that case. You can do it!
@TheHoopTorinater I call that the full elbow matrix. If you're wacking yourself in the face, then you arent flexible enough as you come around. Practice stretching... a lot. Work on backbends, and remember that as you bring that hoop around from the back to the front you have to really put a lot of power into it to make it all the way around. Good luck!
This is an awesome video!! For everyone wondering, it's called I Remember ft. Kaskade By Adam K & Soha... anything Adam K & Soha do: IS GOLD ;) @ hoopcharmer, i would love to see you LED hoop dance with Need To Feel Loved by AK&S ;)

@NekoHWhuT Yeah! Go for it! Its just a matter of practicing, remembering to have fun with it, and believing in yourself. Practice positive thinking, different approaches, lots of fun music, and you'll be well on your way! :-)
Beautiful smile, fantastic moves, amazing location! I'm in absolute love w/ your pants, are you wearing a hip wrap as well or is that part of the style?
There is but only one form of matter that moves so correctly, so completely in sync, so completely at one with every surface it touches. That is until now. The only thing that can move this perfect is water. Hoop Charmer is a pure and natural flowing......talent. One that should not be taken lightly...hehe..
Absolutely love this video! Beautiful! Whenever I try the behind the elbow thing and try to bring it around to the front I always smack myself in the face. lol
@psyche027 It certainly does take a few face wacks before you get the moves. Remember to laugh through the wack and you'll make it out of your practice with a smile on your face regardless! :-)
@HoopCharmer If you did your normal awesome act, and saved the fire stuff till the end, i honestly think you'd waste most of the people on that show, definitely all of the "singers" =) go for it
@inkandmask Awesome! Honestly, practice is whats going to make the difference. Be sure to use one leg to pump it up. Move one leg up and out, while not allowing the hoop to slow down. It can help if you use momentum to your advantage and turn with the hoop as you almost have it up, that should bump it up to your hip. Just remember to have patience. It takes time, but you will get it! :-)

I started hooping at the end of 2005... about 4 years... I guess the first 2 were more off and on. I was more into poi at that time.
Thanks! :-)

Where/when will you be performing there? I can't wait, too!!
PassionFire01 2 years ago
I know I will be performing at least one, but potentially multiple nights in the Root Society Dome, and I know for a fact that on burn night I will be performing at Shift camp on the Esplanade. We're throwing down! Dont miss it! :-)

Beautiful hooping. I've just recently begun to play with twins and poi style spinning. So far it's been challenging, but loads of fun.
