Hello Jim cus. You remeber us playing that selection with Sean Mc Guire in Milwaukee.Man you are so intensense And here cumms Barney. Love your Style so much.Playing in Bristol tomorrow.Missed the all Ireland .butt shucks who gives a duck. bless your fingers in every respect. patmcginleys
James - you are truly talented. You know your tradition, and you have dedicated a lot of time and effort to perfecting your art. By the time we get to the Gravel Walk... it's inspired, and inspirational
The thing with good harp players, they are blues players. When they play Irish reels the tradition goes into the bucket. It's a reel with a blues accent.
Love this video,im trying to learn some irish reel jigs,do you have any tabs for this you would share with me and is it a normal diatonic or a slide harp?
I am an Irish Dancer. These Reels are incredible, make my irish heart beat :) What are the names of all these reels? I just bought a harmonica and want to learn this trade! You are very talented James.
I first spotted this video about 3-4 months ago and have had it flagged as a favorite and seem to keep coming back to view this video. I am somewhat of a musician myself but am no where near the caliber of the exceptional talent that you are. You are a remarkable player. Though I can't read or write music, I have composed several tunes over the years...and man...would love to hear you perform them. By far the best harmonica playing I've ever heard.
You and Brendan are the kings of the Celtic music....I'll NEVER be able to achieve this level of playing.... People like you make the human being more interesting. Love Christelle
Thank you, Christelle! But a king, I am not. I am just a humble minstrel with a fife in one hand and a mouth box in the other, that's willing to play for a shilling or two or a mere crust of bread.
Great vids on your site, Christelle. Excellent playing and variety! We shall meet in Sacramento!
That's outstanding James. Good grief, I love my XB40's. still trying to transfer my tongue skills to these harps...getting there! what key are you there?
Fantastic!!! Love it!! Is your harp Standard tuned or has it been altered? (Paddy Tuning) or are you just bending the lower notes? Keep the tunes coming!!
AWESOME!!!!! :O

nice. Do you find that your harp is in G for the majority of Irish tunes as well as traditional Bluegrass tunes (ie red haired boy etc).

Hey James, being humble is something great for a human being but your type of play is forcing admiration....
I can't wait to meet you at SPAH 09 to drink a couple of beers (and to steal some of your tricks LOL)

The Australian Jim Conway has MS and is confined to a wheelchair, however, his is still harpn'.
