Run Said they never got a dime or any type of endorsements after rocking all that addidas gear on stage and television. Despite all that I'm sure it boosted those sneaker sales regardless. But yo you forgot about my era the early to mid 90's which I think was the most pivotal because hip hop was advancing as an art form and at the very same time degenerating. I remember when graff and and bboying was coming back at the same time Hip Hop started taking a dive.
West Cost Conscious: Hieroglyphics(souls of mischief), Paris, Above the Law, The Lench Mob, Tupac Shakur Ice T, and even the gangster rappers back then had a lot of conscious songs coming out. Oh yeah, Sista Soulja.
just wonderin, when you say "conscious" do you mean conscious to business, sellin records, themselves, the black culture? what do u mean, just wanted to know. but dude, this is an awesome vid.
Hip Hop has definitely changed. Alot of rappers from NY&LA had a 5% or Islamic point of view which contrasted with American ideals. Most rappers from the south have a christian background which is why the music lacks revolutionary vibes, so the Dirty south rapper looking like Flavor Flav is acceptable. Even on the west coast you had Cube,Paris,Pac, Souls of Michief, and Del. The Pac & Big beef, The rise of Jay,Murder Inc, Em, and 50 had alot to do with changing the vibrations of hip hop.

TEACH! Notice the change in Hip Hop names went from titles of royalty KING, MASTER, GRANDMASTER, GRAND WIZARD, PRINCE, etc. to Lil & Young.
