Are you asleep, are you in a dream? The copper shades of a morning Distant lights beckon and fade Unwritten songs of another day I fear that you would never be Every song in the world for me I took your hand, led you astray You cursed the worlds I longed to save Is heaven to you a perfect place? The look of sorrow on a sufferer's face A field of lives to sow and to reap That some of us will never see? .................. (no more place left :P)
:) I know right, that's why I like this song so much (sorry I had to come back here to comment again b/c I love this song) everytime I hear it, it almost makes me want to cry, because it has that nostalgic yet nonchalant feeling to it that reflects life...like an old mirror that one has forgotten to look into for a long time...a song everyone can relate and create a meaning out of, no matter if they are gaining or loosing something in life's long run...sorry for the comment
I uploaded a live video of this song shot in Austin TX. Jason Reece is playing drums on it. Check out my profile page for this song and "Bells Of Creation."
trail of dead is amazing along with the band Annasay. I found Annasay on itunes, and they are really good too. Listen to the Annasay song "Winter Air" on itunes or youtube. Good stuff
Holy shit I haven't heard Trail of Dead in so long. Like several years, I still have thier cds rotting away in boxes. I love this band so much so amazing.
My best friend in the world introduced me to this band/song at 4.30 in the morning on his car stereo after we got back from town, we were slightly drunk sitting in the front seats of his shitty car listening to this amazing song....the next day i got diagnosed with cancer...so this band and the 4.30am moment holds significant meaning in my life, not to mention some of the most powerful
lyrics i have ever heard from any band in the world...totally motivating!!!
every time i hear one of their songs it puzzles and saddens me that they don't get the attention they deserve. so much raw emotion paired with great musicianship.
I can never understand for the life of me why people absolutely HAVE to post a lyric from the song with the video. Are you trying to give us the impression that you're singing along? Or are you just trying to tell us what they say at one point in the song? Honestly it drives me completely batshit.
And who the fuck would give the idiot a positive feedback from it?
i know how you feel but understand that some times some parts of lyrics touch some people more then others , and they might not have everything others have , and it just something they can relate to .
The beauty of these guys is that they are pure rock and roll. Like the Stone Roses they are cockey and ready to prove their worth. perfect combo for success.
This was the first track os theirs I heard, got it off Audiogalaxy way back. Loved them ever since. Saw them at Roskilde festival on main stage, mind blowing. But not close to their show at Loppen, '06 I think too drunk to remember really, best concert I've ever been at. You gotta know it's a really small place, 500 people max I think, stage is like 1 foot tall, magic.
alsatiancousin1 im not trying to be the average youtube asshole but how did you even know that about the guitar thats like mindblowing you hardly see that close up in the video once again not being an asshole just curious
I think he is right. it is hard to make out but the shape is Italia. I can't be sure there were so many cheap guitars in that period but............. Its not a Firebird. Great tune anyway. That is what rock and roll is about.
I remember first hearing this song on MTV2, around 2002. I loved immediately. I love that this band dig Baudelaire if you're familiar with Les fleurs du mal- the evil flowers you can see the influences and it's a beautiful interrelation.
i like the older stuff like let it dive that was a great song :) every variant of the song i downloaded had that gay asian person at the end which completely ruins it but its still a great song
My favorite song is intelligence, but I can appreciate the newer stuff (which it seems many people don't like). Hopefully they keep pushing the envelope.
three, keep the faith, as the boys are split from Interscope and at work on a new album as I type. Hoping they have another US tour soon, as I have seen ToD 9 times and eagerly await number 10!
I love this song and album...I"m very disappointed with their newer stuff though...oh well, this one, madonna, and--to a lesser extent--worlds apart, are good. I really wasn't a huge fan of 'So Divided' however. And it's not because I'm anti-mainstream or change or any of that nonsense, so don't throw that at me. I just think their newer material is weaker and less emotionally driven than Source Tags-era stuff. (and Elana's Tomb.)
I agree !! I'm gonna go see them Saturday in Houston..and I pray to the Universe..God..whatever.. that they play stuff from "Madonna" & Source tags and Codes
can't get this song out of my head. i'm becoming obsessed. check the guitar riff at the start....the bass....a sort of tribal drumming...they do know how to play guitars. the whole 'source tags and codes' album has some pretty songs but this is really something.
i love this song always reminds me of the days when id wake up smoke three cones of skunk and have an awsome coffee ready to face the day ;) this song is awsome.
Their album got play on MTV, their best album actually, so you're wrong. I also hope you're favorite underground bands don't go mainstream because you probably listen to underground boybands and emo gayness. DIE
i first heard of one of their songs on madden (let it dive)...loved the song, thought they were a one hit wonder. then i saw the movie the invisible and heard caterwaul. im not a big music guy, but those two songs are fuckin amazing. so what are their most popular songs?
Having said that, TOD are one of the biggest gems that I have found in the 00s. Not too many Aussies appreciate them either. Did I mention their self titled album? That is kewl too. Particularly.... is it Gargoyle waiting? If you don't like the new stuff, check out the ten year old stuff. It is good.
"Madonna" was a pretty good album too. I have no idea what happened to them after source tags... they just changed beyond recognition. Love this song though.
Can anyone tell me why it is that anytime i ask someone if they've heard of this band, they're like "who?". A shame. This was the 1st song that intro'd them to me..been hooked ever since. True rock.
Why exactly does that fact make you like the band more? Should like them because of their music nothing else. My opinion at least. Would their music be not as good if they were on MTV?
I just meant that if the dj had played them every time I was in a club and youd hear them everywhere all the time the songs might get worn out to your ears
but of course it doesnt matter how many ppl like them

these guys are awesome - they put on a real live show - always on the edge, explosive and entertaining... i really hate it when they are compared to sonic youth. sure, im sure sonic youth influenced them, but sonic youth vocals were ALWAYS horrible and they were completly incapable of writing a good melody. try and sing a sonic youth melody right now...you wont be able to..
Hands down, Source Tags and Codes is there best album. I love this song, and I learned how to play it a few years ago... I forgot some of it I'll have to play it a few times again. :D
How is it hard to believe that they are American? Are you under the impression that all Americans are George Bush and love Toby Keith? Because if so, that's as fucking dumb as buying into the whole 'euro-trash' stereotypes.
love the anti-religion message of this song.

Their music, to be honest, probably wouldn't be as good if they were on MTV.
For one, they'd be way overplayed.
Secondly, fame like that really changes bands, and their music wouldn't be quite as meaningful, more controlled by the media.
It's a sad thing, it truly is.
I always dread the day my favorite underground bands go mainstream. =\

so jason sneaked me in the backway, lol..
but hell yeah, need to see them more than once.
hannedahl 4 years ago
well it was really fucked up that the band was booked since long back for the festival then they put their gig on the clubnight on the thursday
then they sold out the concert with separate ordinary tickets so that it was almost impossible to get into that gig with a festival-bracelet
it wouldve gotten crowded anyway
and they just did this so that pisstervik would get even more money from this
did you see sparta aswell?
alsatiancousin1 4 years ago
they should've played on friday/saturday and on some bigger stage, that was the plans.
but some incompetent rövhål doublebooked 'em with some other band.
hannedahl 4 years ago
yeah it wouldve been better for everyone if they had played on the smallest of the festival stages instead
it was still so fucked up of luger/pustervik
to sell separate tickets to that concert this way
are you allowed to book things like that?
I think that if someone had tried to book things in this way in the states they would have gotten sued big time

these guys are awesome - they put on a real live show - always on the edge, explosive and entertaining... i really hate it when they are compared to sonic youth. sure, im sure sonic youth influenced them, but sonic youth vocals were ALWAYS horrible and they were completly incapable of writing a good melody. try and sing a sonic youth melody right now...you wont be able to..

Hands down, Source Tags and Codes is there best album. I love this song, and I learned how to play it a few years ago... I forgot some of it I'll have to play it a few times again. :D

no shit! you heard their earlier albums? amazing.... hard to believe they're american. no offence

How is it hard to believe that they are American? Are you under the impression that all Americans are George Bush and love Toby Keith? Because if so, that's as fucking dumb as buying into the whole 'euro-trash' stereotypes.

My graciousness, these boys are reckless; they drink quite a bit of alcohol but they are catchy.

The best part about these guys is the name of their band.
