Spain are by far the most boring team ever to play the sport. But its not their fault - they are simply so much better than everyone else at keeping possession.

Its FIFA's fault for outlawing even mild tackling and making them use a pathetic toy ball. Other teams have no chance of getting the ball, and so Spain, rightly, win at their leisure.

Its a shame - under proper football conditions Spain would win too - but it would be more fun.

Funny how lots said Spain "were boring & only won 1-0 all the time". Spain were anything but boring. Calling them "boring" is to fundamentally misunderstand what football is about. Their only crime was being far too good at playing the most difficult version of football possible: an uncompromising passing game, coupled with intense, high pressing. You could bemoan a lack of goals but there was literally nowhere to go when all there opponents defended so deeply and with 11 players.

But that aside, Barcelona were definitely the reason Spain lifted the trophy. Not only were Barca players the only to score, but the two centre backs protecting Casillas were Barca players. Without Barca...Spain wouldn't have gone very far.
