  • What's the music played over "As The Puff"Riseth I'm pretty sure it's a iMovie track. I just need the name, Anyone?

  • What is the name of the song that John plays in the video? Thanks in advance. (:

  • John doesn't play any songs, but Hank plays Book Eight! ;-)

  • So how is that I live in Chicago and wasn't there on 8/8/08? It's because I epically fail.

  • "A 'true nerd' and didn't think of it until you walked away!"

    Haha, oh, it's so true.

  • i totally agree with you :)

i was just thinking how well put together this video was!

  • This is amazing!

  • Ahhh I want to know the answer to the riddle now! :P

  • I think Hank answered it somewhere in the comments! :D

    -Chellie

  • 10to10? Like the YouTube channel/user?

  • The user is from Germany? Maybe he's going to Germany?

  • That's what I was thinking!

  • I couldn't really hear Hank's insult...John's reaction was priceless though :D

  • "John's not a very good Dungeon Master, I will say that," says Hank.

    -Chellie

  • Thanks! Hahaha that makes John's reaction even better! XD Ah, nerds...

  • This was an awesome video. It was such a great day! :) xxx

  • Woops! That was Kayley, I'm posting Hayley's video for her on this channel, haha. xD

  • Thank you so much for posting this. I live in Michigan and really wanted to go, but couldn't because of another commitment. I appreciate you sharing it with us. BTW, what is 10to10 all about?

  • We gave Hank a riddle in Chicago, and that was the answer. He solved it very fast!

Make this say nine fifty using one straight line:

    101010

    thanks for your comment!

    Chellie

  • He didn't solve it THAT fast though...not on the first try. :-) I still think he belongs in Ravenclaw though.

    -Monica

  • I live in Chicago! And I missed this because I was in Australia. *cries*

  • This video made me sooo happy. Tears were imminent.

  • Omg I want to be there D:

  • I am so jealous. I wish I could have been there, like, WOW.

  • Oh wow..they were treated like freaking celebrities!

    I <3 JOHN + HANK

  • I know! They even had security people guarding the greenroom at the library before they came out, lol.

    -Monica

  • haha. i wonder if the security guards were nerdfighters...

  • this video was made of so much awesome!

what kind of nerdfighters are you guys?

  • Theatre nerdfighter!! (Alternatively, designer nerdfighter ^_^)

    What about you?

    -Monica

  • harry-potter-obsessed-band-geek-nerdfighter

    :D

    Chellie

  • Great video, all of that looked like a lot of fun. I'm quite jealous. :) I really did think John probably was making fun of you until I saw he'd already cleared that up. It's the repetition of "literally".

    I loved John's book shapes. <3

I've seriously had a pretty crappy day so it was great to have this to cheer me up. Thank you!

  • So glad to help! Nerdfighterly things always cheer me up, too. :-)

    -Monica

  • this video was so good. ya'll did a good job. 8/8/8 was so fun!

  • This is amazing. I am jealous.

  • I am so jealous. D:

But thanks for getting some awesome footage. Cute commentary, too. <3

  • Hank John, COME TO ENGLAND!!!!

  • Johan and Hank should come to Alabama. Where Looking for Alaska was set. Which, might I add is an amazing book :D.

  • Hank really is a rockstar.

  • I met you guys in the elevator at the library! Awesome video.

  • Lol, I was in front of you guys (at 1:10) and I remember being in front of you when we where in line for Hank and you were trying to figure out what John meant:)

    Anywho, thanks for posting!

  • Haha, so you can attest to how confused we were! (Although I don't think Monica was quite as concerned as I was). :-)

    -Chellie

  • This is a GREAT! Video, I wish I could have been there with you all. (Allison too!)

Awe, I'm seriously going to miss you all... I need to get my "self" together and get going on these so I can keep in touch with you both - did I tell you my Mac woes?

Where there a million people there? I loved it. *does happy dance*

Your giggles make my heart melt. ;)

  • No, what's going on with your Mac? And when are you going to start your vlog?

  • We missed you so much. Hopefully you can make it is to the one in Ann Arbor, but Monica won't be there.

  • I wish I could have gone to Chicago. But I didn't have the money for gas to drive the 5 hours. :(

  • Aww, I wish I had been there. :/

But this video made me insanely happy! xD

    This is made of awesomee!

  • John and Hank are awesome. NERDFIGHTERS!!!! (and I totally made that shirt for John)

  • Haha, I know! We had noticed that he didn't wear it in his next video and were sad for you, until he wore it at the library. :-) YAY!

  • Yay! I hate that I wasn't able to be there, but I'm glad it was as awesome as it was. Thanks for bringing us the footage. Oh, and you two have to be the cutest couple of ladies on youtube, hands down. DFTBA!

  • lol, thank you!

    -Monica

  • I wish I could have been there!

  • Best day ever!

  • Yeah, awesome video, wish I had been there it looked like a ton of awesomeness and fun.

By the way, the nerd insult thing where a nerd only figures out the perfect insult or witty reply when the person is long gone, is so true. I have thousands of nullified insults stored up.

John's comment about the book signing is rather ambiguous, I would have been worried about it too (reads comments... ahh i see)

Love the puff, fear the puff.

  • already been said, but yeah - made of awesome

  • totally awesome. thanks for sharing!

  • This video made me so happy (and incredibly jealous) DFTBA <3

  • Wow, Hank's certainly worked on his stage presence. Awesome!

  • this is rather made of awesome.

(just so you know. =] )

  • this was really entertaining. you both seem to have such excitement in your videos. I just saw another of your videos and it made me subscribe. keep doing an awesome job. =]

  • nice!!!

  • That looks amazing!

You think that 8-8-08 will be anything near as awesome as John and Hank coming to Philadelphia?

That is...if they come to Philadelphia. :\

  • Thank you thank you thank you. What a great summery of the day for those of us who were unable to make it. Looks like you had a completely fabulous time together - I am appropriately completely jealous, *sigh.

    -Debbie

  • Ooh, a comment from a famous nerdfighter! I've seen your videos, and I like them. :-)

    -Monica

  • LOL - Thanks. Though I'm not too sure about famous! You are definitely the girls of the hour in Nerdfighteria, and we bow to your awesome. :)

Glad you like the videos. I hope that I have a few more awesome ones left in me ;)

    -Debbie

  • I am hurting from a combination of laughter and jealousy! Awesome!?

  • Great video you guys! :D Very funny and awesome!

Hope to see more of the short sisters in the future! dftba! :)

  • WOW This was awesome. The "Hoo Hah Nerdfighters" with the book shapes had me doubled over! GREAT Video...and really great to meet / hang out. And also thanks for putting up the concert footage, that's the first I'd seen of it.

    OH! And btw...10TO10 :-p

  • YOU GOT IT!! Now be honest, how long did it take you? (and thankyouthankyouthankyou for the feature on your page...we're sort of sitting here watching the Olympics in shock.)

    -Monica

  • Once I started thinking about what nine-fifty could mean, and stopped thinking about the ones and zeroes it came pretty quickly. I also really liked all the hang-man on the back. None of them took you two very long to get!

  • Yeah, we were playing with Allison while we were waiting for everyone to show up at the Bean. The only one we really struggled with was "Happy Dance" because I guessed A and then I was positive it was "Hank's Pants".

  • how did this get on vlogbrothers?

  • We can feature whatever video we want...and since I've been too busy / lazy to put together a comp vid from chicago thus far...the ShortSisters totally had our back!

  • how come i cant do that!, wow im fan struck you replied!!!!!!!!!!

  • You can! Just go to "more" under "Account" in the top right corner, click on "Channel Design", and under "Featured Video", paste in the URL of whatever video you what to put up. :-)

    -Monica

  • this was fantastic. REALLY fantastic! great job!

  • Thanks Katherine!!

(on a side note, Chellie and I just did our happy dance in the living room because our favorite youtubers -- I think you know who -- just subscribed!! tell Hank thanks!)

    -Monica

  • This was an amazing video!

Thanks so much for sharing/making this!

    You two are amazing.

  • that was amazing =D

    I love the montage.

I wish I had been able to go to the show at Reggie's Room but alas, I am not yet 17.

It'll happen one day, in all probability.

    =]

  • I didn't know Hank had a concert. That must have been so much fun! I bet he enjoyed it much better than his last concert. A concert with loads of Nerdfighters must've been great!

  • yes....yes it was.

  • That was amazing. You could of left out my scary Nerdfighter sign, but other then that, very creative. At least we found out what John really meant. I want to see more about the concert. Was it amazing. I am very glad you didn't get lost and got funny stories about John. I will have to hear them later.

  • haha, loads of people have seen your hoo ha nerdfighter rap now!! :-P

I sent you an email about one of the things John said, so go read it if you haven't! (Also, send us our picture when you get the chance!)

I'm jealous that Chellie's going to get to see you again (in all probability) at the Ann Arbor nerdfighter event!! I'm sure it'll be a blast!

    -Monica

  • what ann arbor nerdfighter event?...

  • John is not a very good what (in 1:15)?

  • Dungeon Master. they were talking about role-playing games.

  • Oh my gosh, how many people were there??!!

  • there were 200 people at the library event (and many more on a waiting list, the space was full) and the Wizard Rock concert sold out too...it was a small club though, probably less than 150 people.

  • Actually they moved us to a bigger room and allowed everyone in...the final count was around 380 people!!!!!

  • That was nice of them, I'm glad they did!

  • I was there too! And that day was awesome.

    :))

  • Aww, puff levels. And if there is one thing about this video that rocks, it's the "book shape" dance. :D

  • thanks for being awesome, short sisters.

And I was totally serious. The paperback had never been signed before (and still isn't officially out; they shipped it exclusively to the event). -John

  • Chellie will be pleased to hear that she was wrong. :-) I thought that's what you meant, but she didn't believe me.

Thanks for helping to keep our 888 awesome!

    -Monica

  • Well, that's a relief! =D

    See you in November!

    -Chellie

  • I predict John will say he was completely serious... he'd never signed the paperback of Katherines before.

But mostly THANK YOU for this great summary video of the day.

    Dad 1.0

  • I must agree with Dad 1.0 there; John probably never signed the paperback version of Katherines before. It's only set for release on the 14th of august (four days away!). Where did you get that book anyway? :p

  • Yeah, it's not out yet, which I suspected but didn't know for sure -- John said they shipped copies exclusively to the library event on 888.

    -Monica

  • You were right! I guess were close enough to the front of the line that no one in front of us had the paperback Katherines.

No problem; it was a great day and we had a lot of fun making it.

    -Monica

  • I've never actually seen the puff-in-progress like that. It's a little intimidating. Great video!

    1d2ba! -e

  • Sweet video!

John sounded REALLY sarcastic XD That is what he meant haha
