I like how the kaoss pad was included on the machine. I cannot really decide which machine is better; the Korg M3 or the Motif XS8. The XS8 machine has a very good hammond organ sound because of the faders that act as drawbars. I don't know much about the Korg, but I've heard that it is definitely competition for the Motif.

numini is my shit .. i use it often along with rap lead... piano as well im all motif from the original to the xs wait until you start sequencing on it .... i find it better than any other board... but thats just me... and if your looking for a greAt guitar that sounds live go down to feed bacc electric and throw reverb on it

motif s the best . I think they charge some more bucks for the big screen on the fantom, that s why. moreover, the motif xs8 is easy to use.i got a hard time navigating the roland fantom g8. but both are great keyboards.

There isn't a keyboard on the planet that can emulate a real guitar sound. Never has been and probably never will be. Even a cheap shit nasty entry-level strat with a handful of pedals can sound better than the best keyboard. The MOTIF is no exception. Nice board though.

But let me ask you this lol, where in the world do you think they get the guitar sounds for any keyboard? Not Garritan Instruments. Garritan get's them from the real instruments and so does any keyboard. Thats what samplings are.

no...the only difference is with the XS8 you get 88 hammer action keys/or weighted keys as they're now called....and you get the MLAN board already installed in the XS8

The mo8 has the same GHS keyboard as his Motif and is less then half the price... you get all the same sounds but a few less recording options which aren't really a deal breaker because if you record your going to connect it usb to a pc or mac giving you the exact same flexibility, and options

the diff is that the xs has a 300 ram when the es only has 150 nd the xs added almost 4,000 arpegiators so theres a major diff nd im getting one for christmas im getting the xs7 the xs8 is way to expensiv e i would prefer if u r like on a tight budget type thing get the xs6 it on only has 66 keys but its workable so yea bye wat ev i wouldnt prefer anything else only the motif xs or es good luck

Stevie is a Yamaha Artist, thats why he uses yamaha keyboards. otherwise producers these days don't use just one keyboard, they use software plugins, live instruments and several keyboards. Any experienced music producer would know this.

About Oasys guitars I agree they suck. I have played it before. However the Oasys has some crazy technology along with it. One example is the CX-3 organ module it has. Just that would draw me to it.

I was just pointing out how the sheer value of what you would be getting for the money...even if the Yamaha was the same price as the Kurzweil,the Kurzweil overall,is a much bigger bang for the buck,in terms of music production & sound quality.

Don't get me wrong,the Motif XS is a wonderful instrument & I would certainly be interested in getting one for myself,if the Kurzweil PC3X did not exist.

I invite you to at least check a Kurzweil out,because you really don't know what your missing.

i had the same dilemma only between the Motif XS8 and the Fantom G8. After playing each many times at music stores I've chosen the Motif XS8. The Fantom's can't keep up with the Motif right now and have to be expanded to do so. I'm happy with my choice and can't wait to get my XS8 next week! :)

I plugged in the firewire cable into my macbook pro and picked the Motif's mLAN as my audio input. I did this so everybody could hear the actual sound that's coming out of the motif, no cables or gear to worry about coloring the sound.
