  • Thanks for the heads up will keep my eye open for this shit

  • That happened to me one time!

  • Thats happened to me a couple of times, the first time i noticed on ground and thought it had just slipped out when i fieldpacked, but the second time, in air. First thing I did after landing was making sure it would´nt happen again.

  • oh shit thats not good!!!Blue Skies and always happy landings!

  • Thanks for posting James!

  • Thanks for posting, as a novice canopy pilot it helps to see these things.

  • Do you jump an RSL? If you had one on that side and the cable had slipped the rest of the way out that would be messy.

    Let the RSL debate begin.

  • hey i am 15 and just got intrested in skydiving and i really want to jump cause my brother and some of my friends jump... but just wondering... what is an RSL?

  • Basically an RSL deploys the reserve parachute when the main parachute's risers disconnect from the harness. If that yellow cord had slipped the rest of the way out one side of his parachute would have released while the other side stayed attached. If he had an RSL on the released side, it would have fired his reserve into his still halfway attached main, which greatly increases of the chances of the two becoming entangled.

  • Thanks for the video, i like to see people showin things like this to keep us all on our toes.

  • thanks man ... so pretty much if you cut your main away, your reserve deployes automatically? yea i can see why they would get tangled easier

  • nice video
