  • I haven't looked at all your GS450 vids yet. I have an '81. I can tell you that getting rid of the restrictive air box and installing pod filters requires several size larger jet. These jets are in increments of 2.5, so a 117.5 jet is only one size bigger. The pod filters make a HUGE difference, and jet size will likely have to go to at least 145.

I am still working out the jetting on mine. I have a stumble coming off idle, and it breaks up at full throttle. Mid good. 155 main, Needle shimmed.

  • Well, th stock size is 17.5 pilot and 115 main, so start off with 20.0, 22.5, and 22.5 and maybe 25.0 pilot. And get a 117.5, 120, and a 122,5 main jet. Start off by going up the next available sizes on both the pilot and the main. Let's face it, you'll be tinkering for hours from here. The GS 450 is not a popular bike, so jet kits and jet info is not available. If you need anything else shoot me an email.

  • i have a 81 gs450l bobber in which i am going to put pod filters on what is needed for jets?

  • @hondaracer445

I think I figured it out! Make your main jets 122.5 and your pilots 25.0. That should do the trick! But you still will have to do trial and error. There's no escaping it. Do you know how to read spark plugs? Its is a litle mechanic secret that really helps.
