Must admit i prefer the natural look. Neither of us is perfect and to me it seems quite scary imagining they do those thing all the time in magazines and nobody gets to see how people really look in their own naturally beautiful way. Due to this I no longer bother buying magazines as all pics are more-less false.

@dante3576 Duplicate the layer and apply Gaussian Blur to the new layer. Then add a mask to the layer. Invert the mask. Grab the brush tool and spray in white wherever you want the effect to be shown. Then just adjust the opacity of the layer to make the effect as visible as you like.

I think it looked too unnatural, if it was for a cover on a magazine then maybe, but for this ordinary photo taken of her in outdoors, it's just too much. You're still very good though...

I guess s/he downloaded it. It's definitely not a default action. You can find some great Photoshop actions on DeviantArt.

If you use it to smooth skin you'll loose the skin texture, for some pictures that's not good, but for others it works great.

1. Duplicates the first layer.

2. Applies a gaussian blur

3. Adds a mask to the new layer

4. Inverts the mask

4. Changes the tool to Brush.

5. Selects white for the foreground color.

That's it.

In this case I liked the artificial look of the end result and I just leave it as it is.

well it isnt all that hard, once you get familiarized with most of the tools photoshop has to offer. youtobe 'photoshop tutorials' and youll learn a great deal =)

nevertheless i would recommend watching videos where someone is actually retouching a photo that hasnt already been altered.

you can´t.... it costs a lot of money.... there is an open source imitation called The Gimp, which is free. Is not the same but it should do the trick as well... Maybe there are even tutorials on how to achieve this kind of results using the gimp.... Good luck...

Hi AlyssaMilano1219, yes I speeded up the video, it took me about 15 minutes to retouch and it's been compressed to 4 minutes. It was a pleasure to work on this picture. I'm a fan of her. :)
