  • That's pretty cool I bet it would launch a lot further if you put more weight in the bucket.

  • How do you design the sling to hold on to the ball for the upward acceleration, then let it fall off once it has momentum? Is it just pure centrifugal force that's "pushing" it off of the sling?

I'm trying to design a trebuchet, myself.

  • hey very nice trebuchet u have there good job! ps. i add a video respons of mine homemade trebuchet so u can see;) greetz from the netherlands

  • It is releasing late and that is killing the range. :-(

  • 43 persone hanno 4 in storia

  • What the heck is wrong with its ranged? That little one with lead weights should launch material fairly far.

  • I can't believe they made this video with the battle theme of Escaflowne.

  • this treb really is weak. you need to make a serious adjustment somewere

  • 1:30 "I love you"

  • manowar!!!

  • I love Goatees

  • Needs more weight and a shorter arm trade distance for velocity ;)

  • haha nerds! die in hell!

  • @2line1 Good luck surviving when the nerds attack...

  • Ha ha oh dear, Manowar. That made me stop the vid.

  • dude nice!

  • make a quick release dumbass

  • make a quick release dumbass

  • Just add about 50 pounds to the counterweight. get 2 25lb wights and add them with the weight distributed evenly. I made one that is about 1/4 the size of that and uses a 20lb counterweight. it throws baseballs over 60 feet.

  • @prosper58 just put 40-50lb of lifting weights in the weight box, instead of just keeping it empty. -_-

  • @prosper58 holy crap!. thats impressive!

  • Epic!

  • the sling is releaseing to late, which is why its not firing very far.

  • the sling is releaseing to late. thats why its not going very far.

  • you guys need to shave yourselves!

  • You guys suck at this, I built one smaller and I was throwing tennis balls 200+ feet!!

  • cool! how?

  • no the biggest problem was the release point of the sling if that was changed they could have made it go alot further then that

  • The Problem with this Trebuchet is NOT the Sling lenght.

The Sling lengh is fine, it could be a bit longer...

But the MAIN Problem is the Counterweight/Projectile Ratio

It should be somewhere around 100/1, in this case it is aproximatly 10/1 or lower

  • nice vid. who is the band?

  • @R0CK0N5407 manowar

  • They couldve thrown that water bag farther

  • Nice, this video helped me get an idea for my trebuchet, catapult, and ballista project.. Thanks for posting this!

  • me and my bros smaller unmeasured one goes waaay further.

type in broschmakov to find it (it will be the first one on the page)

  • the sling releases too late.

either bend the nail or peg backwards or make it shorter

  • The problem is that 1: the release of the second string is too late, Or 2: the slng is just too long in general...

  • manowar? what song? Great Work!

  • it will fire differently when you change that sling

  • yes if you would have a real big one who can fire 10 of those plastic bags you can bombard your opponents!

  • major water ballon fight

  • Battle hymn

  • its not going very far, try something lighter.

  • The lever are is far too long for the amount of counter weight you have.

  • avete bisogno di un lavoro...

  • ya. its not firing that far

  • omg i throws than tht

  • kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

bom , a met anão foi atingida, né?? ou será que foi... hum...

pra mim a munição está de bom tamanho, o problema talvez tenha sido a trava da funda... um probleminha nla e a mira já era...

  • this was tea bagging

  • try some better amo dudes

  • That treb is very nicely built but I dont think that size treb is made for flinging huge water sacks like that, Try a tennis ball.

  • sling relese is to late

  • lol

  • i can pee further then that

  • weak sauce.. my 4 foot tall treb shoots a baseball 60 feet.

  • put a vid of it

  • we made a trebuchet at our scouts and it could fire a 10kilogram heavy ball over 100 metres

  • WEAK!!!!!

  • ughh i have to build a mini version for tech ed in school!

  • longer swing arm and more counter weight. with the weight closer to the axis and you will get a lot more distance

  • love trebuchets, with an accepction of this one

    just joken, love em all!!

  • What has this thing to do with Manowar which sucks balls?

  • lol, i dont see the point in building a trebuchet that throws shorter than a 8 year old boy ^^

  • are you kidding me, this trebucet sucks.....ive built one 1/5 the size and easiy 1/20 the weight....its ration is about 150 to 1 and it can throw the projectile almot25 meters.

  • ahah...nerd.

  • loll

  • @DTisnumba1 you are a fag

  • The parts needed to make one doesn't seem too difficult but how to you determine the weight of the drop box versus the item being thrown? How do you determine if you have too much slack on the "throw rope" or not enough? How did you determine the length of the long part of the arm versus the length of the short arm (or drop box) arm?

  • well, from my experience and research, the ratio of counterweight to weight of projectile is roughly 100 to 1. This is for optimal performance however, and heavier things can be thrown with less weight, just not max distance. And also, the lengths of the ropes on the sling should be roughly the same lenght as the long part of the throwing arm. I do believe the Ratio for the long part of the arm to the short is a 4 to 1 ratio. If you have any other questions just ask, i'd be happy to help

  • Comment removed

  • you test it.........

  • Looks like the parts were in a kit... Kinda lame.

  • Italiani grande tradizione artigliera

  • I want to make one trebuchet myself... it's very cool! I'll try to make onagers as well (the wheeled siege weapons like those in Age Of Empires II).

  • i made one

  • Cool! :D I decided to make one, and I am still working on it. It is not that good, but eventually I will improve it.

@comunillo: eh già... mi pare anche a me che gli italiani avevano il pallino dell'artiglieria pesante.

  • mine 2

  • I think you should increase the angle on the litte "thing" that holdes the rope.

  • How heavy was the counterweight?

  • just water balloons? watermelons and canteloupe work really well as trebuchet ammo. I made one of these for a project in my physics class in college and it was pretty surprising the distance you can get with these things. nice work!

  • Ahahah!!

We know it's a very bad trebuchet! can't you see that it throw backward sometime?!? we just found a funny way to spend an afternoon...we didn't mean to move war to king richard IV or wathever...

  • lol a fun way 2 water ur grass but it would take 4 ever

  • how much do you guys think them projectiles weigh?

Only i have one half the size and i think it can throw a lot farther than that. il get a projectile the same weight and post a video

  • WTF one part i think he did the i luv you hand sign

  • Hi:

Can you send me the plans to make it please?

  • wat should i try and build a trebuchet or an onager?

  • onagers are more likely to break if the frame is not strong enough

trebuchets work more smoothly and are easier to make

  • their release system doesn't work well

they have to change the hook a bit

  • put more weight in its kinda week

  • i think a iron maiden song..

  • Sounds like Manowar

  • Whats the second song?

  • Make adjustments is good advice, but the best advice is to just keep hurling and having fun.

  • lol i love the intense music!!! but its such a small treb you lose a lot of the suspense

  • HAHAHA you guys looking at the camera and nodding with the music is fucking hilarious...but yeah, just need a bigger weight boys!

  • more weight and adjust release pin

  • Yeah, there's some adjustments needed, specially the release pin. Something else you might consider, a 1:100 ammo/counterweight ratio is a good start.

  • oh and also I made one about half that size throwing a small concrete block 175~ ft.

  • it's not about weight, you could tell it had plenty of power.

it's about the release pin. adjust it so the sling releases the water balloon at 45 degrees for maximum height.

sorry, but you guys might want to do some research...

  • wats the name of the music

  • Yoko Kanno: Dance of Curse

  • Err... the first track, I mean. Didn't notice the song changed.

  • thank you

  • that does not go far add 50 money pound and make it 2 ft taller

  • not creepy music, its good music.

  • Wonderfull

  • you guys need a lot more weight it will go farther

  • you fail

  • nice, creepy music

  • thanks for posting this video, im trying to make a trebuchet or maybe a catapult for a class project so it gave me an idea of how it should work

btw me and my sister think the guy in red is hot

like i even called her over and said 'look a hot guy'

lol i just thought you'd like to know that

    (im serious)

  • right herrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreeeeee

  • herrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrre

  • here

  • right here

  • i built one out of only wood and rope It could launch a brick 50 yards but we hit a car and got sued ut over all it was fun

  • Che figata, proprio bello. Divertente ed anzi Vi suggerisco pure di guardare ABACUS THE MOVIE. Altre risate garantite

  • you just throw water, you should've tried with a ball of flames, or a dog

  • Great video add more length to the sling rope and you'll get better distance..

  • the guy in the red shirt kicks ass man...

  • the dude in the red shirt did it wrong. \m/ its supposed to have the thumb in. i hate it when people do it wrong >.<

  • I think they sold their computers

  • LOL ragazzi siete grandi, però han ragione eh...qualcosa di infiammabile asd

  • grandi italiani! con tanto di manowar di sottofondo! mitici! :D

  • when was the last time these lads had sex you reckon?

  • the last time id say, is when their moms sold their computers

  • Great trebuchet but it looked like it was throwing the bags a little short, to get a better arc, adjust the release so it releases earlier.

  • Aah, looks great, GREAT!

Love the music, and great video!!

  • Yeah, what you need, is to make the release pin angle shallower so it releases later, and increase the counterweight to ammo differential, as well as construct a means of release the trigger without holding the launch arm down. Trust me, I've whacked myself with these things before doing that. Cool vid, though.

  • agust the pin ang it will help

  • sooo msg me but make sure u do it from ur basemn.. er i mean your moms hou.... er ur room =)

  • Retarded

  • ur an idiot

  • Thec weight needs to be incresed in the in the centre' vacoule of the trebuchet!

  • the counterweight must be a hundred times (litteraly) bigger than the weigtht projectile

  • the weight must be heavier i think

  • Ok, now fill a bag with gasoline and light it then launch.

  • What's the title of the song?

  • MANOWAR!!! respect!

  • Knoxville81, I was wondering how far the projectiles your launched went. I'm doing a physics project and we have to launch an egg 20 meters. Any help from anyone would be welcomed. thanks

  • I saw someone use a model rocket for that once...

  • me and my friend just built one (about half the size of this) the arm is 46 inches. It was for physics class and it throws golf balls 50+ meters

  • Check the point of the release i bet it'd work better.

maybe try to launch from a fix plate instead of that strip

  • i hope zidane headbutts both u nerds

  • eheheh, everybody can throw furhter, but this way it's more funny!

  • I can throw further with my hands...

  • man if I live in europe id be having 5 of those

  • Dance of Curse II from Escaflowne

  • tontos do carallo esa catapulta é unha merda, pero merda merda

    look the hollliwood´s onager

  • Ehm...the "another language" is the Italian and "poco dopo" means "Few Later"; the first Song is the Escaflowne opening Theme..

  • lol..when are you going to throw cars away? Btw, what's that first song?

  • ok is this in another language?
