  • FLIPA!

  • fantastico

  • what's the name of the music?

  • Lui Vinceva ance quando perdeva- Enzo Ferrari

  • je suis canadien et laisser moi vous dire que c est l orgeuil du quebec ce gilles!!this is the real deal for us quebecers , merci gilles we will never forget you brother r.i.p.

  • TOP

  • I never tire of watching that video. Gilles, may you rest in peace as one of the greatest Formula One pilots

  • one of sports finest moments!

  • Bellissimooooooo questi erano sorpassi

  • whts is the name of the song

  • I can tell you the artists (2 songs): Crystal Method. Fatboy Slim.

  • WoW!!!!!

  • Keep hope alive by The Crystal Method on the album Vegas.

    watch?v=mATWilLYu7o

  • what the fuck are you talking about? i understand the last line but everything before that is just a blur!

  • what is the first song?

  • Think about it... if Hamilton and Raikkonen battled like this in Singapore tomorrow, both men would probably be penalized like all get out.

  • i don't see anywhere you could penalize them except maybe arnoux running off track there at the end.

  • he wouldnt be penalized for that however since he lost the place through it. maybe villeneuve turning in on him? but again it's questionable because he probably just didnt see him. arnoux ran very wide at the last corner and villeneuve got through, shame, i think arnoux drove superbly.

  • Fantastico!!!! tres magnifique!!!

  • And Hamilton gets a 25 second penalty......

Fantastic clip, one of the best on the net.

  • i just wish that F1 was like that now :/

the closest it's been to it was when Schumacher n Alonso battled it out in 2005/2006 San Marino and the 2006 Turkish Grand Prix...

btw...does anyone know what the song is?

  • Fatboy Slim - Right Here, Right Now

  • thanks bud

  • you wish that F1 was like that now but do you wish it costs to life to go with it

remember from 94 untill today we have never lost a driver and i hope we never do

sure the f1 of today is not and never will be what is was but it cost then there life

  • ye i was more suggesting the racing. With todays safety and that racing F1 will be amazing :p

  • This is F1...the real racing where braging rights come first and championship second. This is the kinda racing i grew watching...not the crap i saw on sunday in the Belgian grand prix.

  • The only other race that's worth mentioning -- Schumacher's 5th place win after being penalised and starting from the back of the pack in the (2005??) Monaco Grand Prix.

  • Now THATS racing! Modern F1 pales in comparison.

Roba d'altri tempi! Una goduria per gli occhi!

  • Much better than today!

  • now thats how f1 should be

  • The song is: Right here, right now - Fatboy Slim

  • impresionante me encanta lo mejor k e visto

  • what a title of music ??

  • grande!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hi!

Can you tell me what's the name of the song after the titles? Thx

  • Magique!

  • If they'd only remove the stupid fuelling from the racing. Then we would see more action on the racetrack. Nowadays majority of the passes is being executed via pitstops, which is highly GAY.

The last year before refuelling came along (1993) was some great racing. Ever since then it has gone more and more towards tactics with fuel and passing in the pitlane.

  • agree!

  • Good old time when what was really important was great mad pilots like Gilles and the immense creativity and geniality of designers like Chapman. Not this UHT low-fat F1 of today: what is really important is a bunch of hitech stuff, and a big team to manage all the details: big show, low emotion...

  • Titanic Battle this was... Marvellous

  • Spettacolare!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • yees they should never have gone away from slicks - that was stupid. And they should go back to 3.5 litre v10's - not small v8s revving to 20000 rpm - they actually cost more to run as they are so stressed out.

And they need to go back to big fast corners like lesmo 2, 130R, tamburello etc (just increase the run offs so no more accidents like Senna's.)

  • This race for 2nd was more exciting than any of Schumacher's wins! The modern era is sterile and boring. F1 died with Senna!

  • pega bem loko.. os caras mandavam muito

  • bons tempos...

  • i wasnt around to see these brilliant drivers but just by watching these clips i know F1 is nowhere near as excitin as it used to be,back then it wa just Arse,Machine and Tarmac,no electronic nannys

  • now that is F1 racing.... goin all out and as far as damaging your car just to get where you wanna be in the race and get those extra couple points

  • Great duel. Really impressive.

Personally I can't agree that "Racing like this does not exist any more". Why? Kubica vs Massa GP Japan 2007 ;) It's just rare now..

  • Very impressive driving I must say! And it looks so risky too

  • Senza Parole...

    AMMIRAZIONE,

    AMMIRAZIONE,

SOLO UNA SCONFINATA AMMIRAZIONE PER UNA SIMILE OPERA D'ARTE !

  • i wish the f1 were like 40 years back again

  • what is this sound???

  • no electronic aids, and those shit... makes the f1 the best

  • first one: The Crystal Method - Keep Hope Alive.

second: Fatboy Slim - Right here, right now.

  • questa si ke è formula 1!!!!!

  • wauuuuuuuuuuu, O_O the best duel of the history.

    Name of song please

  • Did he really drink all the coke they said he did? Is it even possible? Even if he claims to have a bladder twice the size of a normal persons.

  • Questa era Formula 1!!Cavalli ,cambio e frizione!!!

  • those days are back? you got no clue mate not a fuckin clue, f1 today is shit, kids in expensive cars being told how to drive by old men making money.

  • no driver aides either they were changing gear themselves too

    MIND BLOWING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • SPETTACOLO!!!!

  • AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • if we get something like this between raikonen and hamilton it wil be an exciting season :P

  • amazing!

  • The best bit of motor racing in history.

  • That is what F1 should be. Todays F1 is for wusses.

  • However, I think that it can't you compare. We're talking about the f1 without electronics helps, where the only help to race is the driver ability, and in this, Gilles es the best...

Is strange, you're canadian,... You should know your it...

  • lol i sure as hell am not canadien.

    electronis were not the issue.

fact that one car was much better then everything else made F1 suck.

  • Let's see if forbidding traction control in 2008 changes anything. I predict a lot of spins this year... :)

  • It's not just the tracks that are easier today. Back then the cars where more difficult to control (primitive suspensions and brakes, no computer designed aerodinamics, etc). It took balls to push those things like Senna, Piquet and Villeneuve.

Today FIA keeps limiting engine size, while the brakes and everything else keeps getting better. When cars are incredibly stable at 300kph and brake in 50 meters, there is no place for overtaking.

  • Brakes and suspensions were not primitive, not the standards of then, on the contrary 1979 was the time when Brabham introduced carbon brakes, and the aerodynamics ground-effects produced even more downforce on some of the cars than today, but without the turbulence.

I agree that the cars need more power, but they also need to bring back slicks and a clean aerodynamics solution (they should bring back the ground-effects).

  • ridiculous idea, a return of ground effect cars would be lethal. They were banned for a reason (crazy low ride heights and any disruption to air flow underneath the car would be lethal) What they need now is to get rid of rear diffusers and clean up the air flow coming from the car infront so other cars can slipstream easier. Also making brakes less effective and thus increasing braking distances would make overtaking easier.

  • >

^The ride height wouldn't have to be so crazy low and there's no need for sliding skirts, and with some active/reactive/semi-active suspensions and failsafe movable wings they'd fix these issues.

These are in fact the 2011 FIA proposals.

  • Amazing driver!!

  • back in the day when men drove f1, not blokes who look gay, and do what there told by bernie fuck face ecclestone, and drive round tracks designed to stop close racing and constant overtaking, worrying if your hair gonna look could for the interview afterwards why ur bullshit 2/3 stop strategy didnt work, borrrringgg. come back mansell and senna, never send boys to a mans job

  • Awsome battling. I've primarily followed MX over the years and i'm curious if the same kind of racing exists now in F1 as well- someone runs away with it and every else sits back, content with the position they run in.

  • Real Drivers in Real Cars at a REAL TRACK thats not some pansy Bullshit track so easy my 5 yr old Neice could drive in in her go kart.

  • nunca mais veremos nada assim!!!

    f1 70's and 80's IS THE BEST

    BRAZILIAN FAN

  • the second song is Fatboy Slim - Right here Right now

and that is quality racing you dont see pilots that anymore :(

  • Akárhányszor látom ezt a videót, mindíg beleborzongok. Hihetetlen miket csinálnak.

    RIP Gilles!!

f1mrky the song is:Fatboy Slim - Right Here, Right Now

  • iuncredibile

  • owned.

  • this is F1 |I miss for the real F1. now is only electronic ....

  • Track gladiators!, why F1 has now these crying babies and robot-like pilots?

  • I saw Gilles Villeneuve and Keke Rosberg do this same dance in 1977 at Edmonton International Speedway in Formula Atlantic. At the end of the race, Villeneuve's car had a large black circle on the left side of the cockpit that he acquired from Rosberg's car in Turn 5.

Rosberg and Villeneuve were the most exciting drivers I ever watched.

  • pqp vei n vi nenhum dele am cena mas venu esse video aghora tnho certeza q qm viu fikava loko !!!!!

  • It's really the best F1 duell, unbeliveably...

    btw: whats the 2nd song?

  • sry i found out...

  • Mamma...CHE SPETTACOLO!!!

  • That was fantastic. I wish I had been alive to see Gilles Villeneuve race. Being born in 1991, I barely remember Damon Hill driving.

  • Giles was the so much better of all times

  • i wish i didn't seen this race it was spectacular rac:)

    i love this vid:D

  • Truly one of the best drivers that ever lived.

  • >

^ Bringing back slicks and ground effects would help.

  • Japan Kubica e Massa

  • They say that putting steel brakes and slick tyres in the modern cars would help overtaking.

  • that was mental. holy shit. it never gets old.

  • fuckin crazy

  • salut gilles :)

  • Why does it not exist anymore? The racers wont do it?

  • That is probably the best racing I have ever seen!

  • What track is that? It almost looks like Spa.

  • god's clashing on track like gladiators... giants amongst men.. best f1 clash of all time.

  • They could race like that back then because the cars had ground effects and they didn't lose down force when directly behind another car so they could follow closely while going through turns.

  • even if they could stick close to each other, they wouldn't do it, because lose or win they still get their huge salaries, so they choose to race safely. money drove away the passion.

  • You are high!!!

  • perfect racing.

I would like to see drivers today driving like this.

    PERFECT style

  • THIS ARE RACERS

  • E ovo je jebena formula 1!!!

  • esto SI es formula 1

  • Gilles Villeneuve was a great crazy driver.

Ciao Gilles, sempre nei nostri cuori.

  • great post. spectacular racing

  • Gilles had HUGE bollocks ;D

  • That's the most incredible footage I've ever seen. Within inches of each other at over 180mph, neither one backing off, just insane. Where are men like this today with the much safer cars??

    RIP Gilles :(

  • They are curenttly in Japan.

And their names are Robert Kubica and Felippe Massa!!!

  • Agree!!!

  • Gilles was a really crazy driver.. all Ferrari Fan remember him with high spirit.

    A really great champion

  • This race is truly breathtaking, one of the most spectacular races ever. Giles was a very exciting driver.

  • It was a great race. That was not the only fight. Funny how F1 has really gone down.

  • now THAT'S racing. music sucks though

  • Salut Gilles

  • Awesome video, thanks for posting this.

Tribute to Gilles Villeneuve who tragically died 25 years ago today. (May 8th 1982)

  • Yeah, at Zolder. . . seeing this makes me wish he could of lived longer- and pull off his insane driving skills with someone like Ayrton Senna. . .

  • god damn that was pure balls, really great vid

  • Great!!!

  • Thanks rabbit. Evidently RRod can't read or write, or probably race, very well thats why he misunderstood and misspelled.

  • First track in this video is Keep Hope Alive - Crystal Method

  • First song is crystal method - keep hope alive

  • any1 knows the name of the first song? ^^

  • And a Redneck I work with says,"there is only one great form of racing and that NASCAR."

  • your a fucking idiot nascar is a race were little cars go around in fucking circles...you are a freaking redneck for liking tht garbage

  • I think you completely missed the point. He was making fun of his coworker for liking NASCAR, not saying he agreed with him. And if "you're" going to call someone a "fucking idiot," make sure you spell "you're" and "where" right when you do it. P.S.: Punctuation and capitalization are your friend. Idiot.

  • Sorry, I apoligize for what was said a week ago apparently my younger brother that likes F-1 Racing was on here. I personally dont like racing to begin with. Please excuse him. and he definitely does need to learn to spell lol. Again, sorry about that.

  • Not only Gilles at his best, Arnoux at his best too.

  • Just the greatest duel in F1 history!

  • The only loser in that race is Jean-Pierre Jabouille because he scored the first win for a turbocharged car and no one remebers that. Most only remember the greatest scrap in F1 history.

    Poor Jean-Pierre :(

  • Amazing, in a duel like that, there's no looser

  • "Right here,right now" - Fatboy Slim

  • I'm not sure on the first song. The second is "Right Here, Right Now" by Fatboy Slim.

  • What is the name of the second song?

  • Thanks for the post. I've been looking for this video.

  • who said schumacher is a great pilot?

he's a monkey crap against Gilles Villeneuve

  • Amazing footage- thanks!

  • Mate, thats a sick, sick video. Nice one for putting it on. Just a shame F1 isnt like that today..........
