  • man much love juggalos we are the truest juggalos fuck colbert we juggalos are truly truly hatred

  • How can someone possibly watch this and think that LV is attacking SC? How can you be smart enough to like Stephen but not smart enough to understand a video like this? Or maybe you don't understand Stephen and like him for the wrong reasons.

  • cajun style

  • I yearn for a hate button. Stop taking the genius of Colbert and shitting on it. At the very least find a picture that doesn't prepare us for the Colbert high, and crush us with the liberal viewer experience.

  • Worst voice-over EVER? You decide. Kinda creepy. Probably owns a white van and sells ice cream and chases kids around. Creepy dude. Creepy.

  • who doesn't like irony and sarcasm? apparently 830 people :/

  • It's like 10000 spoons when all you need is a knife.

  • @TheBicusnicus1 I'd fuck Alanis.

  • The irony is that Stephen Colbert ironically said he hates irony.

  • The irony is that your explaining what irony is.

  • I dislike when guests come on a talk show and try to out-funny the host or outright steal their routine. It makes them look like poor sports and they're always a pale imitation. I think earnestness is the expectation of guests on the Colbert Report, and Carville isn't holding up his end here.

  • No, he didn't. Stephen Colbert's irony proves a point, or helps the guest prove a point. By trying to use irony against his irony, you just end up losing the opportunity he's provided for you to explain what your position is truly about. Instead of just ironically agreeing with Stephen that the oil in the ground belongs to the company, the right response would have been to explain honestly why that shouldn't be so. Instead of educating the audience, Carville just agreed with what they felt.

  • you're a couch

  • this video doesn't suck, but your recording equipment does.

  • Comment removed

  • Your videos aren't horrible man, they seem to be kinda controversial. Also, you commented at the beginning about how people can't tell you are joking. not to be mean but you kinda sound like a robot. Or microsoft sam.

  • Comment removed

  • Yes, James Carville out-colbert.

  • I gave up irony when I discovered Lycra.

  • Colbert is a comedic genius! LOL No way around that fact...

  • Why do so few people understand that LiberalViewer is being sarcastic?

  • @SelectHawk i have no idea. its frustrating lol, you would think that fans of colbert would recognize irony and sarcasm when they heard it, but apparently even colbert has retarded fans.

  • Liberal Viewer, Stephen Colbert's comedy is irony in it's truest sense. And sometimes even the irony of irony. It's comedy, trying to make a point with irony.

  • Amazing how the top two comments are essentially opposing statements.

  • I enjoy enslaving people.

    I also like thin mints.

  • we all want truth , ironics can be futile. thank you cobert, you rock!

  • god i hate when i click on these "the liberal viewer presents..."

  • Nobody cares.

  • irony.

  • I hate to inform you of this, LiberalViewer, but the numbers are in and it seems half of your fans are retarded.

  • @HelplessVictim Fantastic! Even better in that your statement doesn't clarify which half. Neither will this one. Suck it, stupid people!

  • @HelplessVictim lmfao

  • @HelplessVictim Look man, I am not retarded. I just downvote things that scare me or I do not understand. I feel safer and less dumb that way. Also if I am watching a good documentary on offensive subject matter I downvote it to let people know that I find the subject matter offensive regardless of the quality of the production I am viewing.

  • Both the maker of the video and the inbred mr carville are morons. Colbert runs a COMEDY SHOW. If you didnt know that......then i dont know what else there is to say.

  • @taylorbakowski I kno! Wtf liberal viewer?

Do you honestly make it your business to COMPLETELY miss the point in EVERY video you make?? Come on dude

  • James Carville didn't out Colbert Steve, he reshaped the game. Colbert does improv comedy with a political theme, the golden rule is "yes and" meaning agree with what your partner says and then top, or intensify it. Carville said something that Colbert would naturally agree with to throw him off balance but Colbert refused to agree because it goes against his political stance. You can see Colbert briefly dismayed when he said no, at 2:49 which is against the rules and then catches himself.

  • In order to catch him, you have to say something in complete sarcasm towards your own. i.e his stance. something most his debate competitors are too stupid to do. When he says "I didn't know you were such a kindred spirit, he is saying: I didn't know you knew how to play the game so well.

  • Broken change machines make more sense than liberal viewer.

  • I think James Carville is an alien

  • @VitalSigns1 Not an alien. His parents chucked him in the river and he was raised by a family of eels.

    Randall Eckley grahampaw@att.net

  • OMFG.... You guys do realize that the uploader is joking right? He likes irony and he knows Stephan Colbert does too.

  • They're starting to hit on something here - it's not our freedom that they hate us for - it's our Exxon and our Haliburton that they hate us for.

  • It would seem that LiberlViewer:

    1. Does not understand the Colbert Report

    2. Barely (if at all) understands irony

    3. Is mind-numbingly monotone (seriously, I never thought I would suggest this, but buy an autotune device and learn how to use it. If you don't take the time to understand it then it will just be stuck on one tone all the time and that would be no different than what we have here)

  • Please, for the sake of you like/dislike bar, clear things up and tell people that you are also ironic, at least because Colbert loves irony.

Although if you were being ironic you would answer that you weren't ironic... fuck! shit is complicated.

  • you're terrible. Take this video down.

  • Haha... Carville is awesome... I even like the way he says "oil".

  • Damn!, I need to read posters names before I click a link.

  • i HATE irony.

  • I have no idea what's going on

  • It's his TV persona, i hope you realize that. He obviously has a conservative one

  • liberalviewer

  • What a strange video, and what an interesting question. Carville makes the point well.

  • Ah. I get your humor. but not really a fan :/

  • I enjoy "Ironic comedy", IF done correctly, It can be a tricky thing to pull off. First you need people who are intelligent enough to understand that you're not really serious about what you're saying, and Second you need to have integrity and trust with you're audience, otherwise they'll just think you a fool. (Oh, and for those of you who try to be ironic with EVERY single sentence you ever utter, even in casual conversation??) It's NOT even close to amusing, it's ANNOYING!

  • It's ironic, because with all the views you'd think there would be better content.

  • How do you hate irony?

  • I also hate: Satire, metaphors, similes, symbolism, idealism, caterpillars, and closets. Please ban these as well.

  • @GIvanov I think you forgot about bears.

  • @sumthingsick123 The government messes up everything it touches. I'd rather live like the Amish or the native Americans.

  • @JawsJaws I'm sure the native Americans had some kind of hierarchy, redistribution of resources, public services, public spaces, collective ownership etc. It's just that it's on a smaller scale making the top layer of the hierarchy geographically and socially closer to the bottom layer. It's easier to lose your sense of empathy when people are just numbers and names on paper.

  • @TheLivirus In fact much of the founders' notions of what government should be came from the Iroquois Confederation, which consisted of 5 then 6 tribes. Our current Constitution was not the first. The first one was called The Articles of Confederation. but they decided there must be a an effective unifying government, so they drafted the current US Constitution. But many Iroquois concepts remained in the new nation. Congress even passed a resolution recognizing this influence about 25 years ago.

  • @xJoeEDangerouslyx Interesting. I didn't know that. :)

  • Democrats are the party of welfare and taxes.

  • @JawsJaws

So Democrats are the Party of Welfare and Taxes?

Well that makes sense, since Welfare and Taxes are part of the F-ing Constitution ...

    Article 1 Section 8

Read the F-ing Constitution sometime you moronic bigot.

America love it or leave it

From what you have just said I take it you should get a passport.

Go jump a fence into Mexico if you hate Taxes and Welfare so much.

  • @turtledragon420 Cant handle the truth, can you????? Suck a dick!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @ravex24 I guess your comment was removed because its bullshit.

  • your fucking dumb

  • @furikurifan5 that should be you're fucking dumb not your fucking dumb.

  • @JawsJaws

    You're fucking dumb!

Thank you, I like to maintain proper grammer and diction when insulting others, that was a lapse on my part, also, you're fucking dumb.

  • @furikurifan5 I have a 3.98 in machine technology. Not an easy subject.Deans list everytime and perfect attendance everytime despite having a kid born while I was in school.

  • @JawsJaws

I will break my rule for this statement.

    and...

  • @JawsJaws

Yet you argue on the internet, tsk tsk.

  • @furikurifan5 how is he dumb?

  • since when is Barry White becoming interested in politics?

  • This guy should stop making videos. Because this is just stupid.

  • dat oil undah dayah belongs ta dem partnah!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @creamsoda1987 because you clearly had better things to be doing, douche.

  • @creamsoda1987 Lots of people care.

  • i would rather listen to al gore speak than watch another video with you narrating.

  • He was more obviously sarcastic.

  • i just wanted to see the video....didnt need the lecture on colbert and irony

  • I don't think he out-Colbert'd him, but he definitely was able to hang in there and play along. He lacked the finesse and subtlety that Colbert so effortlessly employs when he spout ridiculous nonsense.

  • i've watched a few of LV's vids and enjoyed them all; this was easily my favorite, feels like sandpaper in the best places

  • I've always been deeply opposed to irony -- too many people mistake it for sarcasm.

  • ROCK N ROLL GOOD PEOPLE!

  • 692 people were being ironic.

  • Uhhhh...Colbert is a comedian. Who still is stupid enough to not get that?? LOL! Stephen Rules!!!!!!!

  • James Carville = Early Kyler, Nuff said

  • Irony helps us cope with the absurdity...after listening to the total nut job, Say it's ok for a company to exploit natural resources, with no thought of the effect on everyone-everything else, I see why we need Irony, It is not their 'right' as if...

  • Lets just kill who ever is the tard behind this upload

  • Stephen Colbert's greatest weapon on his show is Irony. . . He was being ironic when he said he hates irony.

  • When you talk about Stephen Colbert are you talking about Stephen Colbert the person or the character? I have a hard time believing that, out of character, he hates irony as much as you say, considering his character makes use of the rhetorical device so often.

  • @anvilheaded I am pretty sure the uploader is being ironic also.

  • @FantomL0rd you're right....but it saddens me that you have to point this out

  • This is great stuff. Thank you!

  • Sometimes irony is funny, sadly I'm only good at sarcasm

  • I find irony entertaining.

  • Satire, Irony, Sarcasm, yes... I'm so glad that people don't act like sheep that are threatened by people who would dare to make a mockery of others personalities and ideas. =)

  • Satire, Irony, Sarcasm, yes... I'm so glad that people don't act like sheep that are threatened by people who would dare to make a mockery of other's personalities and ideas. =)

  • I hate when you click on a troll vid all the related vids are troll vids too :p

  • Comment removed

  • nationalize the oil companies

  • you are a very boring narrator

  • James has that old fashion Louisiana accent:)

  • .... You do realize that the hatred of irony talk is ironic, right?

  • i hate james carville.. that oil belongs to the corporations yeh her meh!

  • I don't think you know what irony means. Specifically, he is being ironic when he doesn't mean what he says.

  • He doesn't hate irony you idiot. He's just extremely sarcastic and plays on other people logical fallacies.

  • thank you so much you have given me faith in inteligence in the american people i had lost my faith that there was any inteligent people in the us but i can see theres atleast 1 smart person in the crowd of sheeps lead by the seemingly telikenetic grip of the telivision that people just believe what they see and follow whatever wants to lead

  • Woot, STEVE!!!

  • Great video! I must say, I definitely hate irony.... Unfortunately, some left wing nut jobs just don't understand how magnificent life can be when you just let go and embrace the bomb. ;-)

By the way, I think Glen Beck was in Colbert's book club too.

  • shit video.

  • Irony is NOT saying the opposite of what you mean!! (And please don't even dare to think that this is an "ironic" comment meant to stimulate it further.) Do people ever look into dictionaries these days?

  • @TheHmmhmm What's a dictionary? Does it have a facebook or twitter?

  • Comment removed

  • @TheHmmhmm i·ro·ny/ˈīrənē/

Noun: The expression of one's meaning by using language that normally signifies the opposite, typically for humorous or emphatic effect.

And that's from the dictionary; Genius.

  • On the same level as GWB looking under his dinner table for WMD and laughing.

Get some balls you fucking cowards.

  • You dont hate it liberal viewer. you just suck at it. either that or it doesnt translate as well over the net because people dont find American Irony particularly funny. Just kind of, repugnant.

  • Honestly, if people understood understood Colbert's satire, he wouldn't have been invited to the Press Core Dinner during the Bush years. Most people "get it" today, but back in 2005-2006 people totally missed it.

  • 659 people think they understand irony.

  • why is Guantanomo still open.

  • @blah114a Free Health Care for the prisoners...

  • @bobolob the silence is deafening..

  • What kind of meaningless miserable existence must you have to not only; take irony on explicit rather than implicit message and to take time which you must have oodles of to preach idiotic pronouncements on things you failed to understand. You might call me conservative but again you're missing the point. You're wasting youtube viewer's time with torpid stupidity. You have nothing valuable to say or add to any discussion.

  • @zochirho I agree most of this guys stuff is trash and Im not really conservative. He really doesnt have anything valuable to say.

  • @zochirho Who are you talking to? This video was posted almost 5 years ago by the way...

  • james carville is like a skeleton.

  • @greener144 lol A+ comment

  • Not again!!!!!!!!!1

  • CARVILLE FOR PRESIDENT!!

he believes in the right things, and his balls are bigger than the republicans. who better to lead us?

(and irony is only good in the right hands, such as colbert; bad in the hands of every idiot who thinks you need to be disingenuous to be hip. and i don't think there's much else to be said about that.)

  • Irony is saying the opposite of what you mean? That's not irony that's you not checking the dictionary.

  • @samuelmichaud

    irony 1 |ˈīrənē; ˈiərnē|

    noun ( pl. -nies)

the expression of one's meaning by using language that normally signifies the opposite, typically for humorous or emphatic effect : “Don't go overboard with the gratitude,” he rejoined with heavy irony.

  • @pchtermino1 Yep. It's no coincidence.

  • The good parts were when you weren't talking

  • Isn't it ironic that most posters on here don't know the definition of irony? Please don't respond ironically

  • Isn't it ironic that most posters on here don't know the definition of irony?

  • I don't understand you. Colbert is always sarcastic. What's your point?

  • To the Narrator-

    Kill yourself

  • Colbert loves irony, what the hell are you talking about? He uses it in like every sketch.

  • @twigiestdrip

it was a joke, you moron

  • James Carville always seems so strung out.

  • This was horrible. Unimaginative and not witty. Christ, get your act together.

  • that was a good video

  • wow your voice is so monotone, at least Colbert's irony is more obvious considering the expression and tone of his voice. sucky vid, although colbert is the shiznat.

  • Yeah, I HATE Irony so much!!!! FUCK IRONY! But satire, on the other hand, is fine.

  • IRONY BLOWS.

    ;D

  • 1. I think he kind of made colbert's day with his response. 2. It depends.

  • your voice is creepy

  • God i hate liberals ohh i fucking hate them

  • @mtr4216 Can we presume that this is right-wing humor on your part? If not, why do you hate liberals so much?

  • @captfoster1 I can't speak for him, but I'm assuming the phrase, "self-righteous douches," would be mentioned.

  • I love irony in the pursuit of comedy.

  • I hate you (but maybe I really love you)

  • DUDE, I HATE YOU! YOU'RE THE WORST. STOP TALKING AND JUST SHOW CLIPS. if u just show colbert and stewart clips and NOT talk so much you'll do much better.

  • So there is life on Mars....

  • HA!!!!! funny f#cker

  • I want a T shirt that says that I Don't Want a T That sez That I Want a T Shirt. My hatred of irony makes it imposible for me to dress myself.

  • Tim and Eric is a sort of Ironic Comedy, but I appreciate their humor.

So, absolutely not. There's a lot to be derived from Irony for sure. You can even find constructive forms of satire on occasion in Irony.

  • irony depends alot on tone and ur a bit monotone

  • @larry149 Actually, it doesn't. Irony is when the meaning of what is being expressed is diametrically opposed to the apparent meaning. It doesn't matter what tone you use. When Colbert does it in a loud and boisterous display, it's no more or less ironic than LV's calm methodical approach. I'm not sure what you think irony is, but it certainly is not dependent on the tone of the speaker or indeed even manner of delivery. Writings, art, etc. can and do contain irony as well.

  • lawl, fail.

  • if you turely see colbert as being serious and not playing a fake personal then you are really stupid

  • I also don't like you

  • Wow...LiberalViewer is retarded...he doesn't even realize that Colbert is just playing a character. I can't believe how stupid you must be to think that Colbert is serious about ANYTHING he says.

  • @VitalSigns1 Are you serious or trolling or joking? If you are joking, please use the smiley face, else we might think you're either incredibly stupid or trolling.

  • What is irony?

  • @vglav a fat person laughing at other fat people because they are fat is ironic.

  • I have a love-hate relationship with irony.

  • @spectre0075

with the president of Iran and uhm, uhm.... mel gibsons dad LOLOLOLOL

  • @jthetrackr Wow! What a group that would be!!!LOL

  • STOP LIBERAL VIEWER FROM TALKING OVER THIS WONDERFUL COMEDY!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Anyone else just really confused by this? I don't get it at all. Colbert plays an over the top conservative character, its comedy. He tries to get people to put their foots in their mouths in his interviews though. Are you pointing out two examples of where people didn't say anything that could be seen as ironic? Colbert definitely does not target Liberals, if anything he does Conservatives more, but I'd say he's fairly unbiased in his making fun of other people.

  • Wow that was a bit of respect right there from Colbert to Carville! There is no out-Colberting Stephen Colbert.

    Who else thinks that?

  • lmao....book group.

  • Please, stop posting on youtube.
