You're insane, watching him on youtube has only expanded my love and adoration for his work. If used rightly the internet can enhance the mind and Tom Waits on youtube is evidence of this.
if our youtube, myspace culture persists, then in time, there will be no good artists like Waits coming up. We're posting and watching all this art, but paradoxically the environment and context which allows great art to flourish is being strangled by our cyber-culture. Technology is great, and an indispensable expression of human will. The internet is NOT a good use of technology. peace.
Dude, didn't you listen to the song? You Can Never Hold Back Spring. Technology marches on. Trying to hold on to your innocence is the quickest way to loose it.
Oi, fellman you said you were gonna piss off the internet for good a few weeks back, why did you lie about it? To win an argument it seems. How very mature of you.
Ah, at last Fellman cracks and shows just how encabale of holding up his side of an argument he is.
'Over exopsure of art' eh? Yeah, better all of this over-exposure of war that we get on our tellys. You really know how to make a senseless, logicless argument.
By the way, 'Tom' just announced his new tour on the internet. Must make you hate the world even more eh? Poor fella... so wise and yet so misunderstood...
no way, there's a world of difference between the tv and the internet. Both have good uses, and both have very bad ones.. The overexposure of art on the internet, and easy accessibility of art are not always good things, man. They can have dire consequences.
what about all the crap on the TV? I don't see how a television showing the likes of britney spears all day long is going to be less mind rotting than something like youtube where you can type in exactly what you want to see and not just be spoonfed crap...
I think your stance might be a little aggressive, man. I'm gonna head down to the Sunbean Coffee House here in a little bit and listen to some gals play guitar. But for now, I'm gonna take in some footage of one of my favorite artists on the internet. If Mr. Waits ever comes to Clarkston, WA - I promise you I won't be sitting on my computer. There's plenty of room for both.
I had the luck of being able to be present at his conference (He was excellent! and he knew to draw for with the great humor the bad interview that did to him).
Luckyly he gave these two songs to us, and I wanted to share it with the lovers of Don Tom Waits! (excuse by my English)

you're an idiot.

Wow, really deep! I´m sure Mr. Waits is very proud of a fellow like you, talking about "Tom" as if he´d been guarding pigs with him.
Tom Waits is man enough to take care of his rights in his music. You -the big fan you are- know as well as I do.
So get youself a pet if you want to be responsible for someone!

you might as well bitch about waits playing on television shows too: letterman, daily show, and all of the older ones.
