  • Tom Waits should give up his pretensious drunk singing and stick to acting.

  • If I didn't know any, I sez if I didn't know any better I'd think it was Ron Perlman.

  • i'm gonna get you out of downy... LOL

  • Wow....good to come back too....he puts so much heart into this...

My man for all time....well, toss in some Jonathan Winters...Oscar Levant...Ernie Kovacs, all up there with Tom on the mountain.

  • Lily Tomlin is divine in every thing she does. Thanks for posting. :)

  • Thanks for posting, really beautiful performance from both of them. Brought tears to my eyes. Their relationship reminds me too much of mine and my husband's who just passed away last November; it's really uncanny and moving. Everything Tom does makes me squirm; he's got the voodoo about him.

  • I'm a huge Ray Carver fan, and this is the first time I've seen any of his stories dramatized.

    Thanks for posting.

  • Nice. I've seen this movie many times. You should do a Gene Shepard compilation too. I love Tim robbins scenes in this one. Thank You

  • To Twoey...immediately get a copy of Cold Feet. It's Tom's biggest role..bigger than Ironweed, which of course is a major classic, but COld Feet has TOm in his most mad and humoroous role, and it's his biggest ever. A must see. I should really say, GOld from heaven for any Waits fan. Don't stop to read reviews...I have 4 copies of this film, plus the soundtrack, and a poster for Cold Feet. Thanks...

speaking about choking up...I can't count the times.

  • I've already got Cold Feet on order. :) Ironweed looks interesting, and I bet a Region 2 DVD will play on my laptop, I'll look into it. Thanks!

  • So, did you get those films...Cold Feet and Ironweed?

  • I now own Cold Feet, but I'm borrowing Ironweed from someone who keeps forgetting to bring it to me. Cold Feet was hilarious--glad for that last bit with Waits at the credits.

  • In regards to his acting, Waits tends to play eccentric supporting characters. He's friends with directors Francis Ford Coppola and Jim Jarmusch, both of whom have featured Waits in some of their films. He was recently in the film Wristcutters and will play the devil in the upcoming The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.

  • Yes, I too bought the special edition DVD just so I could see their segment again. I wish they had more screen time, they were so great together.

  • lol I agree, he's got a couple of great lines in this.

  • this was great, ive never seen this before. The ending was great..."how about you on a bed of rice"
