those runs at 1:07 and 2:07 are just incredible. No bass player has ever invented parts like that for the bass. Not even great bassists like the Who's Entwhistle ever developed a style like that.
I recently started playing bass. I have a Kramer striker 700st (fairly old) I want to sell it and get a Hofner. The thing is, I want to have that "McCartney" sound. What amp are you using? And how much was it?
Another great one... I'm learning myself, but it doesn't feel natural as yours does....it looks like second nature when you play. Keep up the great work!
@Peacefrog35 Thanks :) I think you just have to practice a lot. Practice until your fingers will play it themselves and you don't have to think what is the next note. This is my method :)
@Maggie8181 Thanks alot for theimput! YOu are right. I've been playing All Myloving on my Hofner alot for the last week and I don't even have to think about it now...my fingers just move. :)
@Peacefrog35 a lot of the natural look comes from fluid movements i think. when i want to make somethingfeel natural i close my eyes and lower my heart beat when i play. i dont even count it off i just let myself start so that my eart beat stays as low as possible and your fingers should just do the timing for you. i hope this little piece of what probably sounds like hippy gibber gabber helped :D
Great play. It sounds real! It makes me happy to find out that Paul's (and the Beatles') musicality is well understood by the new generation. It is very rewarding to be reassured by people like yourself that this spitit is not going to fade away. It sure represents long practicing hours to achieve such a perfection. Well done with real feeling. Keep up the fine artistic job you're doing.
great job on the song! i have to say out of all the people that did this same bass cover you were the best. and your hofner sounds just fantastic! i cant wait to get mine and try that baby out
Beautifully done! Note for note perfect, as far as I can tell. Do you read music or is this all by ear? Either way, you're REALLY good. While the bass is mixed fairly high in Beatles records, it's nice to hear the song with the bass SO upfront this way. Rock on, girl!
@chiennoir54 Thanks :) I'm using bass tabs (tabulature) to play - simple system of music notation for bass (or guitar) - you don't have to be musician to read it.
