  • great video

  • nice

  • ebay.com/itm/FLOYD-ROSE-DISCOVERY-ELECTRIC-GUITAR-STRATOCASTER-MINT-PERFECT-CONDITION-/140630265235?pt=Guitar&hash=item20be378d93

  • herman li should buy that guitar. his dreams will come true using the trem like crazy

  • this guy tried cantrell's signature wah pedal and make me hate it

  • I have one stupid question guys: Do all guitars that have floyd rose have their body cavity carved? Coz I really don't know.

  • @ninesilverguns Nope. You can get Non-recessed floyds, but you cant pull up into the higher rigister. EVH and the Miaden guys use non-recessed floyds extensively.

  • Floyd Rose still makes guitars the International series are still made and the discovery im not so sure

  • Floyd Rose does not make guitars anymore.

  • johnny marr must have had a messed up child hood

  • estoy empezando a odiar el floyd de lisencia

  • Paul likes to whammy, shh.

  • lol im stupid.. didnt know floyd rose made guitars. damn

  • what guitar is that? its awesome!!! i wanna know the name!

  • 6:19 lol

  • cool

  • oh... its paul

  • YAWN!................

  • FR guitars are great instruments, but that headstock is just annoying to me

  • Well, that's a strange guitar... I've never seen those before

  • Stop fucking wittering and play!

  • @quainhankid14 obviously it has a position switch

  • @jsrkill uhhh, pretty sure a lot of people buy em cause the NEVER go out of tune if you set em up right . . . stock fender tremelos are knocked out of tune the instand you touch the bar

  • ahahaha :DD is that paul? :D look how young he is :D

  • pearl jam ftw!!!!!!!!!

  • tom morello stuff really

  • dude from guitar world magazine?

  • was gonna get one of these for a quick resale ..but... hate the headstock too much , its probably a very quiet guitar because of the headstock.

Kahlers I'd rather owned and played many with floyd roses but just find it redundant to keep doing setups unless you dont play in a lot of tunings and dont switch string gauges get one ... if not go with kahler. It can lock the bridge without getting pennies and tape out!

  • this guys head is like a light bulb

  • nice guitar but if i was to get it i would want it in black and would switch the humbucker for a dimebucker

  • Awesome guitar, I love mine. It gets used far more often than my SG or my Ibanez. Plus it looks badass.

  • i crapped my pants at 6:31 !!!!!!!

  • He must have listened to a lot of van halen as a kid...

  • I have a floyd rose redmond 5 with speed loader and is very easy and quick to change strings and also is very hard to get out of tune, i love it!!!

  • I hate this guy and I'm pissed he's ripping off pearl jam riffs.

God I really hate this dude but he reviews like every guitar.

  • @Grunge00125 What if he just likes Pearl Jam? And how is he ripping them off just because he's testing out a guitar? It's not like he's making his own song and calling it his own material. He's testing a guitar. Listening to how certain things sound. Besides if you hate him so much, Stop watching and go test the guitar for yourself.

  • I would totally test the guitar if guitar center paid me thousands to sit down and play random guitars.

And it's more of the fact he plays similar riffs in every video he makes/is in and the one video i've seen where he plays something different, it's pearl jam song -_- and pearl jams guitarists are so much better.

BTW: why so hostile about this?

  • @Grunge00125 Because he never made it seem like it was his own material. You said you hated the guy. Everyone does covers of songs. Or at least little sections of songs. I also dont recall him ever saying he was better than a Pearl Jam guitarist. Any guitarist with brains would know that to hate a guitarist because he plays famous songs from famous bands is just plain stupid.I go to guitar center and try out guitars by playing riffs from other songs all the time, and I don't see why you hate it.

  • You're misinterpreting what I said. I hate this guy. I hate his style, and frankly he's not that great of a musician compared to other people who review guitars. His voice bothers me, his playing style, the fact that almost every video he plays the same scale to show how the guitar sounds: THAT bothers me. For instance, in a video where he was showing off some EMGs: most people who use EMG pups are metal players or have metal influences. There are a few exceptions, but most are. Instead of

  • @Grunge00125 dude if you hate everything about em than why do you watch his vids

  • because as I stated he reviews a lot of guitars and in the end he's one of very few people who review certain guitars.

  • Showing how clean the notes sound when you solo, or showing off some harmonics, he decides to not only play it on a clean setting for almost the whole video, but he plays blues on it and when he uses the distortion he played a Deep Purple styled lick. Not that that's bad or anything, but he does that for every review: he plays a style that usually is not very consistent with the people who are going to buy the guitar, amp, effect, etc. the only real exceptions are when he plays single coil

  • guitars, or guitars like this one where a lot of people will play both clean and distorted. He even reviewed a phase shifter and played blues on it once: wtf is that blues doesn't use phase shifters!

As for the Pearl Jam song, I simply stated my annoyance of how when he finally decides to leave his little bubble of his own guitar style, he's playing a pearl jam song on a guitar with a floyd rose....why not play once again, metal, or hell something that utilizes the floyd???

  • @Grunge00125 I see what you mean on how he should play something that shows what sound the guitar is best at making. Even though these guitars are made for a specific sound, everyone has their own style, or at least everyone is trying. Now I didnt like this guitar after his review, but Im not saying the reviewer did a bad job.

What I'm trying to get across is, He's being payed money to play a guitar how he wants and talk about what he likes about it. That he did. Plenty of videos of Floyds:P

  • Last solo kicked ass! ^^

  • @BCI9279 AGREE

  • i heard pearl jam :D and oh yea my floyd rose tension is fine its like when my guitar is in tune and i start to play half way through a song the stings will start to go out of tune :S HELP !!!!!

  • @tuckisgod you have to stretch the shit outa your strings before they will stay in tune this will help to release the extra slack or stretch in them so they will stay in tune better and even after that it will still take a few jam sessions before tuneing stability becomes rock solid I usualy don't lock the nut for a few days when I change strings also I use dean markleys they are real bright at first but last atleast twice as long as other brands before the inntonation goes south

  • did you make that guitar?

  • he woke up 2minutes ago

  • the bridge is the only good thing about that guitar

  • finally someone who knows how to use a whammy bar...

  • what kind of FR does he have?

  • "Its ment to be played hard. your supposed to abuse it and do a bunch of whammy things with it" is it just me or did that sound extremely sexual to anyone?

  • thats paul riario

  • the great thing about this guitar is that its made by floyd rose, which means theres no middle man to raise the cost of this thing

  • i brought the same gutar today mayne is red

  • @colosalguitarist YOU WHAT?! Rob Halford GAY? ....shudder....

  • @Jamiewaldie1992 Yeah, Rob Halford even said himself that he was gay

  • @Elekari I'm soo disappointed, he's an awesome singer........well at least we know how he hits the high notes now :')

  • @mrsexsymbol

Agree, it looks like a Variax...

  • this dude probably did just woke up, look at his hair man. thumbs up, lol

  • @mrsexsymbol loooks dont mean shit

  • wow i have to buy the floyd rose

  • get guitar lessons

  • Looks like a Strat with a Floyd, cool!

  • Correction: Ibanez make the best double locking tremelo systems ever!

  • @imatheist

couldnt be more wrong even though they are pretty good.

  • @imatheist

    NOT!

  • @Gnarkill2k6 Edge, Edge Pro, ZR? all better quality trems than floyd rose

  • @imatheist

I have a Edge pro and Edge Pro II... they are worn now (after 5 and 7 years playing). An "original" floyd in a Jackson I have is far better quality. Harder material and just build to last... the Ibanez bridges... nah, no working horses.

  • man this guy have the best joob ever!!

  • You Are My New God ='-)

  • plz help i saw a floyd rose brand strat with all single coils is it a real floyd rose guitar it had an orginial floyd rose bridge but no tremolo bar hole?

  • who needs looks when you have tuning stability?

  • really ugly guitar ... (about the look)

  • dudz anybody who say Floyd Rose models are bad, and cant stay in tune.. u dont a thing about a Floyd Rose!!!! Ive had my fender Strat Floyd Rose model ever sense '81 and tht thing is amazing!!!! ive only had it come out of tune when the Strings r brand new and need to b streched but other wise its perfect!!! so if anybody is looking 4 a good model of guitar get a Fender Floyd Rose.. or Ibanez i like them the best ,.... actually they even make a Les Paul FLOYD ROSE!!! those r nice guitars kids!

  • It's because people are confused. A lot of people who say that are using the cheap licensed ones that are junk metal. The Original and some of the high end licensed ones are great (I have one from GFS). The Schaller ones are the best in every areas.

  • so does the GFS have good tuning stability?

  • The OFR trem from GFS does yes, it's comparable to a Schaller. The Speed Loader trem is great, made from steel, but the pot metal arm is whack and the locking nut is copper. I got me OFR arm and nut, can't beat it. Great tunning stability and no clipping strings.I don't do pullups, only bends and dives. I blocked the setup. I did do pullups at one time though, no issues there.

  • people say al kinds of BS about the floyd rose bridge... whitch kinda discuraged me from getting one on my new guitar...

but, never dose my guitar drop out of tune, its been in tune for 4 months now and i cheak it regularly and it ocationaly needs a little itty bitty fine tunning. and yes i do abuse the bar, its a cemetary gates razorback. i also rop the guitar in and out of drop D ,and D stndard with the fine tuners. it stays perfectly in tune.

  • this looks good but ive played these g+l guitars made by leo once he left fender and they have kahler trems i tthink there wayy bewtter than floyd so to say n yes this kids right but hes just being a dick about it!

  • @CZA1112

I fail to understand why you are correcting people on something that has been said for nearly 50 years. It isn't going to change what it's called, even if it is common knowledge that it is wrong.

  • @CZA1112 then explain why it's called a floyd rose TREMOLO bridge

  • @IsMexxeh: Because it was a fail in the early days. Just use ur brain. Does that bridge make a TREMOLO effect? NO, it does a VIBRATO effect!

  • i love that guitar

  • thats not a bad idea, but you have to install it, possibly route it out for humbuckers if thats what you like, etc. Or just get a fucking jackson, either way.

  • so wierd and nice guitar :) nice playing, dude!

  • how much does that cost plz reply

  • i found one on craigs list for 80 on some random other websites for around 100-300

  • godless huh

  • that has to be the most frail looking headstocks ive ever seen

  • it sounds like if you good enough, you could even emulate like a slide effect using the floyd rose system

  • Where can I get one?

  • i have a very very similar guitar, accept its not floyd rose, it has almost exactly the same setup, as far as, a whammy bar (not a floyd though) , blue strat shaped(but w\ a strat pickguard instead), the only differences (besides the ones i already pointed out) are the locks, and mine has a tone knob lol

mine is a Peavey Raptor ($200) but it doesnt stay in tune well when i use whammy bar a lot, but other then that it stays almost in perfect tune, very good guitar to upgrade i think

  • i have the same guitar :)

  • sweet =P, is there any way to mod it to keep in tune better do u know?

  • well you can block off the tremolo if you dont need it, you can buy better tuners, or just buy some tuner locks. :D hope it helps!!

  • this guitar is really cheap just 400!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Where is your speedloader from? Did you get a cheap licensed or is it a gen. floyd? GuitarFetish has a really really really nice licensed speed loader. The whole plate is steall and the bridge and nut is super solid.

  • Excellent video, useful and very well done. Good play too!

  • Weren't Floyd Roses in the late 70's, too?

I could have sworn Bat out of Hell used a Floyd.

  • late 70s yeah, but it gained prominence in the early 80s

  • that sustain is amazing

  • This guitar dus not have a speedloader system its an original floyd. this is a great guitar

  • 2.35 "and do a lot of whammy things with it, which is what i like to do..." lololololol

  • Is it easy to break a string with the whammy bar?

  • well easily if you straight away after putting the string in without stretching it but thats mainly if you have a floating bridge that you can pull back on the bar the strings will break easily or just go striaght out

  • As hideous as it looks... at least its got great tone :P

  • sir you must have never seen some of the ernie ball music man guitars! they are fuck ugly! and they cost like 800 to a 1000 dollars

  • But they play awsome though

  • en ingles se dice nice guitar pero lastima que noes tu caso

  • Why not? I love the Tremolo on Guitars. One of the biggest reasons I use my Strat a lot is because of the Whammy. When I build me a Telecaster I will get a Trem King for Telecaster.

  • at least it's easy to adjust the intonation

  • i have the b.c.rich warlock and jr-v speedloaders there frekin awsome

the strings are hard to get tho

  • what do u mean do u have to have a spacific strings?

  • You need to have double-ball end strings, such as the floyd rose speedloader strings, made specifically for this bridge.

  • GAY!

  • why? a tremolo is a interesting toy xD

  • strings*

  • There is so much music superstition bullshit. A standard strat tremolo will stay in tune as long as the spring counter tension is more than the tension of the springs, any dumbass who cant figure that out shouldn't own a guitar.

A floyd rose, on the other hand, will not go out of tune as long as the lock nuts are tight. If it has no lock nut, it is likely to go out of tune, because the strings get worked loose from the tuning pegs after lots of pullbacks.

  • pretty much a gibson humbucker pickup is one of the best. This is an ok pickup but i perfer the humbucker :)

  • bridge pick up sounds good to me...... don't know what bothers you guys.....

  • I really liked neck pickup sound.

  • ugly sounding bridge pickup

  • weak head stock its going to break easy

  • Tell that to Parker Fly.

  • i did

  • What are you gonna do with the guitar, play baseball?

  • "Here we go"

  • This is the guy from guitar world

  • the ones without the tuners are the speedloader floyds which are the best invention since the guitar you can change all the strings on the speedloader bridge in under one minute and be in tune fantastic bridge fantastic guitar

  • Awesome Headstock

  • btw how come some of these things dont have tuners on the headstock?

  • A floyd rose is much more capable of a fender trem. if you want to only dive down, it's still better to get a FR because it will definitely stay in tune.

  • no a floyd rose is way better fender trems never stay in tune floyd roses al stay in tune

  • what i said was a floyd rose is better than a fender trem >_>

  • I LOVE FLOYD ROSES.

  • why can i buy one of these floyd rose guitars?

  • very god but its possible to make this white ibanez rg350dx thanks

  • that was cool

  • its got a very, very similar look to the fender strat

  • sounds loosely like one as well

  • Top 3 best tremolos are

    1: Ibanez Edge Pro

    2: Ibanez ZR

    3: Floyd Rose Original

    not in that order though

  • what about the floyd rose pro

  • floyd rose orig is way better than the zr but they are both good

  • I wouldn't say "way" better, but yeah the floyd is better.

  • the zr is pretty good but i have a floyd on my gibson v and strat and its pretty fucking good

  • I want one of these with the tuners on it so I can set it up with different tunings

  • Not if you block the trem as he says later on in the clip. Ibanez Edge trem is very good but some of their lower spec/build quality trems (think Edge II/III, TRS etc) gives them a less reputable name imo. Floyd is the original and sounds awesome here - how can you mark it down so bad??

  • Edge Pro, I should say soz.

  • how much is this guitar

  • lol i have an ibanez with a floyd rose tremolo, so im stuck, but once you get the hang of a locking tremolo system, its really cool to have, as long as u have other guitars for when u wanna play different tunings

  • I thought they where meant to be easy to change. Whats hard about it?

  • and is pretty versatile!!!!

  • like $2700USD

  • i sugest the dst-2 or dst-3 you can get them new(if you can find one) for under $800 and they are pretty good i had one......btw are you sure thats not the $600 model? the dsot where the cheaper ones if i remember correct we had a few in stock at the shop i work at but they sold out really fast so my memory cant serve me for price. oh and the discovery v-24 is the best v i own other than my deans.

  • how mucth are these
