hey this was writen about my dad :) he bumped into kim lying drunk in the road when he was in america, working in recording companies. they got to talking and during that night he told her a long story about sailing - 'i learn to sail'. then 'i am the make up on your eyes', comes from his dark eye lashes and everyone always tell hims he looks like hes wearing make up. then at the start, 0.44, thats my dads messing around on one the machines, and they put it in. kim wrote this the next day :)

Having always loved the Pixies, Kim's input and vocals were always that toffee center.. and with the Breeders, you get all of that toffee goodness 100%... almost too much of a good thing... but satisfying nonetheless.

my dad went to america and found kim pissed on the curb and met everyone. kim told my dad he looked like he had make-up on his eyes and he told them about a sailing trip he went on sometime. The next day, when she was writing this song i guess she must have remembered 'cos they went into the song: 1:29 & 1:41.

also the big noise at 00.42 was my dad messing around on one of the machines

I remeber jamming with Kim and Andy Taub when Kim made this up. We were in his house when he lived in Austin Texas. I cant help thinking that Kim was singing to me when I heard the 'proper version' they recorded. I look like I'm wearing makeup as Kim pointed out when she first met me and I told her that I had learned to sail. I love them both.
