I think Jo was the one for Dean. There were a lot of little things that made her perfect for him. Her mother's approval was important as well for him. It was Dean's loss...the life he could have had.
I think jo was dean first love. I have a feeling that since Osiris could choose any witness that is a weakness to dean, he could of chosen lisa or Ellen or the other people who he bounded and got close to. But in the end it was sam (who dean would die for), himself (because he is his own weaknesses), and jo (the only person who he can open up to). It makes be think who is better dean and lisa or dean and jo?

I love the way that Dean opens up to Jo. She's the only woman in his life that he's been honest and open with. He wasn't even all that open with Lisa. I think it shows how much he trusted Jo and knew that she understood him. They truly had a special friendship that could've developed into so much more if the writers had given it time to mature (and the crazy fans hadn't protested her character so much back in S2).
@lollypop2414 Lisa didn't understand the life of a hunter. Jo did. She and Dean would have been great together, but I guess, like you said, too many fans didn't want that. Oh well. Screw them.

The looks they gave each other were so full of feelings. This scene made me cry.
Love this scene! It's still about the way they look at each other that makes me love this ship so much! What a shame that she had to die. I hope we get to see her again someday.
