Great band - I'm English and a friend turned me on to them about 94 - they got no media coverage at all here - Would have liked to have been in AUS at their gigs. I get a high listening to this, adre
naline or something lol? Totalllllllly rocks but with an added genre of it's own!
I saw these guys at Paddo RSL in the 80'sand it was sick, I lost my favourite shirt to this song on th efance floor mosh, we ended up at my mates big brothers place at Chipendale smoking bucket bongs such was the trend at the time. Great and messy.
Ahhhh The Patch, The Playroom, have many blurd memorys of loads of bands l still cant remmember. Them l stumble on songs like this and bang it all comes flooding back. Good times good times :)
Thanks very much for this post - not just best CR song but off the GREATEST Aussie album of all time. However, it sounds a bit muddy - anyone who has just discovered this chase the album, the sitar is clearer and sound much richer than this copy suggests. And the other songs are all killers.
the rifles are the best band to come out of oz grew up listening to them saw them for the first time at the playroom on the goldy even went to see them on my mates bucks nite was fucking awesome and still go see them when they tourer long live the rifles.
I saw these guys for the first time in '89 supporting the Ramones at the Hordern Pavilion . . was new to the country and had never heard them before . . . went and bought Blind Ear the next day . . . I'll never forget Kent Steadman running back and forth on stage playing this . . . amazing . . .
Mate, I was there too that night. The sound was great in the Hordern. My ears rang for two days after getting too close to the stack during the Ramones set.
haven't got live footage but for a great live version source yizargoinoff or similar. celibates live album. got a copy if anyone needs same. 'blind ear' best aussie album eva.
That last minute or so sounds like they wrote Smells like teen spirit before Kurt did!
