The reason why you did'nt have a chance of winning is because, you did'nt check if the toy was winable (look for ones on top of other toys).
You could have won the tiger if you angled the claw right ( It was winable, if you got the claw around its belly, it would pick up, it may have dropped but it would have been more easier to win!

You may wanna try the same machine more than 1 time if the machine is set to "pay out" after a certain number of plays, among other known strategies.
