@bluestingerborg is there still like this old west culture in america ?? because if there is i really wanna go and see it . shit i love cowboys films and stuff LOL
Some people have been wondering which recording this is - it is the one by TeeVee Tunes on their first collection, called Television's Greatest Hits. It was a double LP, and later a CD. I liked it because it linked the opening AND closing credits, making a slightly longer version of the theme. However, I wasn't thrilled that there was so much use of synthesizers and (( believe) electronic percussion. Still, for years it was the only version out there, & I was happy to have it!
Wild Wild West TV Show was fantastic... Robert Conrad was perfect.
Then they had to try to PC it up with a Black James West in the movie... Not to likely there were many Black Federal Agents during the Grant administration... To stupid!
From when Men Were Men!!! Unlike these wimpy, spineless little half-women "men" we see all around us now. What has happenned to this once great nation of ours??
You ever notice how no tv shows write their own theme songs anymore? Now they take songs from the radio and use them. No more talent in the industry when it comes to writing theme songs.....
BEARTRAP037: I think powergirl901 was talking about the bad animation on the original show titles. I don't think she meant to criticize your video. She said that she knew the storyboards were bad even when she was ten years old, i.e., when she was watching the original show many years ago. When she said: "The music deserved a better western series," I think she meant that the theme was too good for "The Wild, Wild West", not that your animations were bad.
The animation for the storyboard concept in the titles was terrible. I suppose the viewers just didn't care, but even as a ten year old I thought 'this is the crudest stuff I've ever seen!' This is considering that less than a minute after the titles you'd be into a dog food commercial, and then entertaining the idea of Jim West beating up 5 guys at a time. But those awful drawings sputtering around the screen...sheesh. Terrible.
I download another very similar version from iTunes but can't find this exact one? Where did you get it? I met Richard Markowitz many years ago. Interesting person.
Looking at his pic, I'm willing to bet "BEARTRAPO37" watched this show for the same reason I did: Robert Conrad shirtless... shwiiiiiiiiiing!! Happy Thanksgiving... if you haven't already gone into hibernation?
this generation missed out on a lot of substance and a time where TV execs had to worry about what the parents of the viewer felt about what thier kids were watching now they could care less
bring back the old TV shows these reality shows are full of dumb ass losers the execs needs thier head examined for filling the time with such garbage
People enjoy entertainment , I watch tv to escape reality for awile . To be entertained. TV LAND is not longer entertaining. I did not mind watching old reruns of old shows . Who wants to watch reality shows when most of americans just want to sit back and be entertained. TV Land needs restructuring.
The T.V. shows of long ago(The 50s,and more so the 60s) don't have something that modern shows (from the past 20 years or more) with very few exceptions have:mindnumbing boringness(especially sitcoms),and poor acting. That being stated,I don't hate every last T.V. show that has "come down the pike"in the past 20+years.I like The X Files,Cheers,Quantum Leap,E.R.,Ed,Hill Street Blues,Knight Rider,All the Law&Order shows(especially the original),St Elsewhere,Lost,Seinfeld,Cops,& many others.
My favorite show growing up! The reason it's not on reruns might be a licenseing thing. You can rent it from Netflix though. BTW, Richard Markowitz did get credited on some episodes. There was a nice piece on him in the Extras in the last disc of Season 1
And yep,I wish usa tv.would bring back these Wild Wild West tv.series reruns soon. How does it work?Do they need viewers writing or calling into the various stations to show reruns,or do they(tv)merely find the sponsors(advertisers)to show the reruns????????
I would love for someone to rerun Wild Wild West too. I emailed TVland every day to take off I love Lucy and they eventually did. I'm not saying I was responsible alone but if you and I write in to local station maybe we will be joining a chorus of other voices asking for the same thing. Slim chance but who knows.
They took off I Love Lucy and I can't remember the last time I saw Andy Griffith, but now all they show are Cosby, Roseanne and those crappy reality shows. TVLand has really gone down the tubes.
TVland is getting away from it's niche for some reason and trying to become like every other network with crappy "reality shows" Who's Got the Look they should call it "Who Gives a Sh*t" They also are putting on movies that you can see on any cable channel. TVland is becomming completely homogenized.
You're absolutely right hanoc. If TVLand were to start showing great old shows like Wild Wild West, I might start watching their channel again, but Cosby, Roseanne and those crappy reality shows aren't worth burning the electricity to watch.

I tried to check to see which orchestra recorded this song, however the MP3 just titled it 'wild wild west theme'

To me, that sounds as if it's identical to, or perhaps the original television soundtrack from its first season on CBS.
