  • I know of no other musician that is so spiritualy in tune and draws inspiration from all of lifes great energy forces.

  • Ook in Pieterburen vinden we dit heel erg mooi!!!!!

  • Oh, God, how beautiful!!!

  • I saw him in concert years ago, in Philadelphia back in 1985, it was the most beautiful, soul stirring concert, I have ever been to. I still mark it as the best to this day. Thank you for beautiful music! A gift to the soul.

  • @urbanfan

Johnny Carson heard him in a club in Switzerland, andsent a note by waiter to AW asking him if he wanted to be on his show. Andreas had never heard of him and asked who he was. The messenger told him once you are on the Carson show, your career is launched. The rest is history.

Thank you Johnny Carson, you are missed. God bless your soul.

  • My ex-husband introduced me to the wonderful music of Andreas Vollenweider. It is the only thing of value I got out of that marriage and the only fond memory I have of my ex.

  • @originalbadgirl Almost same story although I have a lot of good memories and sill missing him!

  • "Moonday" theme ,not "down to the moon" theme ,but Great video & upload ;)

  • Genius...

  • I was in an audio store demoing high-end speakers and they were playing White Winds - my 1st Andreas experience. This was a magical moment in my life. I immediately bought the CD. It took another 25 years to be able to buy audio components that do the music justice.

  • @sheikyurbouti

I 1st heard of him in the late 80's.

    At the time I had 2 Yamaha M-85's powering 4 Bose 901's.

    It was quite a sound!!

  • these snazzy 80's euro vids.

  • I saw him here in '84, it was the best performance I have seen ever

  • 3 people are not open enough to feel what he is feeling

  • Is it sad that I have a huge Dancing with the lion tattoo on my arm?

    Of course it is'nt ;-)

  • We saw him in concert in Los Angeles and he was awesome! Great sound!

  • I have been a fan undying since down to the moon as a 17 year boy in New York( I am now 39 and a counselor in the military) I swear his grace uplifting harmonics (its beyond music this is truly the lovely sounds of life in beauty) never grows old our generation's beethoven, mozart, tchaikovsky

  • A sight and sound to behold! Thankyou for posting to share.

  • Well, the music is great.

  • Oh man, are you KIDDING me?!?! Thank YOU for POSTING it! You really made my day and the quality is awesome. God bless you and Thank You Syltnet!!!!

(Now I'll tiptoe over and give it the five-star rating it deserves. WOOT! Thanks!!!

PS -- As with all exceptional music, this music hasn't dated a bit. I only have four of his albums, and all are incredible. Sounds as fresh as new. Bless you!

Was anyone else here introduced to his music via Johnny Carson's "The Tonight Show?"

  • Hey man. Thanks for uploading this video. I actually watched the whole show on tv and recorded it. However I don't know the songs by order and I don't think they were listed. Alas...

  • @syltnet Thanks for sharing...This music has been with me since "Behind the gardens" came out...I was 12!

Many music genres will come and go while the purity of this music never tires... it's what the soul really needs...at least mine!

  • I have a copy signed by him, I meet him here in Spain two years ago. "This is my favourite intrument music album since I was a small boy" and he said "Wow, thanks".

This song is from "Down To the Moon" album, probably his best.

  • I haven't kept track of his later works (the last 10 years or so) but all of his 80's stuff is great and Down To The Moon is my favourite album too. My fav track is Night Fire Dance. I'm glad you had the chance to experience his music live and even meet him because I haven't. Gosh, I love his early albums Caverna Magica and Dancing With The Lion too and White Winds.

  • The album is from '25 years Live' or ' Live 1982 - 1994'

  • andreas vollenweider is great. i only hera music like fall out boy or something else, but vollenweider is so WOW! xD

  • hadn't heard this in over 20 years thanks for posting it!

  • This is beautiful. Thanks for posting this.

  • I have never seen Andreas live before but I have many recordings and I love the way he has redefined the harp..like a piano without keys or encasement...and he plays like an angel with soul....

  • The song is actually called Moonday :)

    Tnx for upload

  • Thaks for the info!

Do you happen to know the album?
