I get the relaxed feeling from soft spoken voices but not really whispering or borderline whispering as the woman in this video is doing. My biggest triggers are having my ears and heartbeat checked at the doctors and even watching videos like that but only if it's a woman with a pleasant voice that's doing it. I don't get this feeling by anything to do with men. Don't know why, just never have. Also certain massage videos usually the how-to videos for massage and other how-to videos are trigge
Um, not exactly. The fact that only a small minority of people get it is the first intriguing part, and secondly the fact that there is a reaction in your nervous system (a tingling sensation in head and base of spine) is also intriguing. You forget that not everyone feels the same relaxation as you!
I had an eye test 2 days ago and due to watching this too many times I fell asleep after about 5 minutes. Trying to explain asmr to the examiner was quite an experience. Great stuff Abi,keep it up.
I'm sure there's a scientific explanation unbeknownst to me, but it appears, at least in my case that caffeine lessens, and/or blocks the tingles that normally occur during ASMR triggers. Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon?

Haha funny you should pick this, because my actual optometrist has the most amazing voice and way of speaking that whenever I get a check-up it's like a relaxation/brain massage included for free. Sometimes I forget to actually answer him because I'm too busy dozing off.
I can't stay awake. I try to fight it but I just can't do it. This voice turns me into a sleep-slave . Another thing that is weird, I get drowsy and everything sounds strange. It's like my hearing is soggy.
@WabiliciousWhispers I saw a show on National Geographic about the most dangerous/challenging airports for pilots to land and Gibraltar was one of them. If I remember correctly, there is a busy road that intersects the runway and traffic must be stopped for takeoff and landing. Dangerous winds coming off the rock make it dangerous I guess and the Spanish don't like the English flying over their airspace so the pilots have to take a rather circuitous route!
@amuslder1 If I'm correct Gib is in the top 5. the only road into and out of Gib crosses the runway. It's really quite bizarre, though until I traveled abroad the first time I thought it was quite normal. Yeah traffic has to be stopped several times a day for flights to land and take off, it's a nuisance, congestion gets pretty bad here. Ugh, don't get me started on conflict with the spanish lol. At least we are now building a tunnel under the runway for traffic! hehe xx

I always remember as a child I used to love programs where people whispered, I used to like watching quiz shows with teams where they'd confer questions. I also used to like watching people draw or write, but never really knew why.
It's only been the last 12 months of so I've started watching these whisper clips (firstly I found some Big Brother clips) and only in the past month or so I've found out about ASMR.
At least I know these a lot of people who 'suffer' ASMR affects! ;-D
Forget it man!! I've been to every "Soft Spoken" video on youtube and there is no comparison to this video. Her voice is a force to be reckoned with. 30 seconds of her voice and you are gone.

I always remember as a child I used to love programs where people whispered, I used to like watching quiz shows with teams where they'd confer questions. I also used to like watching people draw or write, but never really knew why.
It's only been the last 12 months of so I've started watching these whisper clips (firstly I found some Big Brother clips) and only in the past month or so I've found out about ASMR.
At least I know these a lot of people who 'suffer' ASMR affects! ;-D

Forget it man!! I've been to every "Soft Spoken" video on youtube and there is no comparison to this video. Her voice is a force to be reckoned with. 30 seconds of her voice and you are gone.

I wish my real eye exam was this relaxing. In real life they end by asking me to pick out a frame and then come back in after a few days to pick up much needed glasses.
