as well, those were two free kick goals. Karagounis placed those to perfection. if Nani or Ronaldo played, what difference would it have made if Karagounis took those free kicks?

and the whole crowd was Greek, so that greatly helped. the match was in Germany, lots of Greeks.

If Portugal's offensive starters play, I guarantee they would have dominated the game and if Portugal's defensive starters played, they wouldn't have had defensive breakdowns due to unfamiliarity like they did on the 2nd free kick, not to mention they would've played good defense and probably wouldn't have even gotten the free kicks in the first place.

look, you can say what if all you want, but it's not our fault the manager chose to play half a team of inexperienced players. if that's the preparation he wanted for Euro 2008, it's his managerial choice. you say Portugal would have dominated because of their depth, but like I said, go back to Euro 2004. on paper, Portugal should have destroyed Greece, but Greece won both games.

anyway, it was just a friendly, but if the coach wanted to play some of his subs, he should have done so against a weaker nation with their starters. we wanted to prepare so we played our starters. we even beat the Czechs a few days after (or before) this.

The whole point of friendlies is to play subs and try out new players... unfortunately Queiroz chose not to do that this time around and instead try out new players during qualifying which is why the struggled in the beginning.

like yeah we played Senegal in a friendly recently, and we played some subs and we lost. we need to play all of our starters for the 2 upcoming friendlies to prepare.

Ya that's the point of the friendlies just before the world cup... I know Portugal plays friendlies on may 25th, june 1st, and june 8th before their first WC game on the 15th. It's a pretty good idea to play starters in those games because it lets them get used to eachother as if they're a club team playing once a week.
