Night Game is really not about baseball but about Paul's expression that life lasts a moment and then literally its over. It's a hard road that we never quite get on and stay on. It's a beautiful piece but certainly depressing! My favorite is Silent Eyes. Gorgeous.
I'm 21 and I'm from Buenos Aires. "SCAATY" was the album that introduced me on Paul Simon. Love everything you said, this is such a beutifully sad record, very melancholic, very the opposite to the sunny "There Goes Rhymin' Simon", which is of course another masterpiece.
"Have A Good Time" wasn't a single!! ;-) The singles were Gone at last (#25), My Little Town (#9), 50 Ways (#1) and Still Crazy... (#40).
This album - definitely a masterpiece - highly recommended! :-)
Thanks for your lovely comments Carlos Dangerous (!!!) I have Live Rhymin' with the gospel choirs, and the first Paul Simon LP (although this is a bit damaged). I managed to find a valve mastered first pressing of Still Crazy which is just stunning!
Oh man, fantastic! Could you make reviews about those albums too? The PS album is just stunning, I remember Robert Christgau saying that the only thing that made him happy in early1972 was that beautiful album, haha!
Don't you have There Goes Rhymin' Simon on LP? I would kill to see a copy of that album on LP in detail through YouTube! One of the loveliest album covers ever! ;-)

Brilliant artist, what about Graceland!?

Graceland is a good album too! But it doesn't quite get me on the same emotional level as this LP. I also like his first solo album.
