You are correct,, this great tune (perfect for The Foundations) was written in the 80's with a view to The Foundations reforming again, athough it was a few years later when two of the original members Colin Young and Alan Warner did reform for some one off gigs and a tour. "You can't fool me" is a permanent fixture in the set of Alan Warner's FOUNDATIONS as it does go down exceptionally well with the audiences.
@pluto00011 , That's right. I remember you saying before that there were a couple of songs that were demoed and never recorded. I love the rerecorded version of "New Direction" that Alan & Clem Curtis did on the same release that this one came from. It's a pity that AW's guitar was so low in the mix. Also that track "Keep On Loving You" is outstanding. I'm scratching my head to think who originally did it. Clem , Colin and Hue are all great singers. Have a soft spot for Clem's voice though.

Ive never heard this on the 2 comps of foundations I have. It almost sound like an 80 revival atempt. Still a great tune.
