That was great, great covers are always original IMHO. Kinda like Powderfinger, There She Goes, and Reason To Believe by The Beat Farmers. Some AWESOME covers, nothing like the originals.

The Eric Johnson version of this song is just so much better he plays the incredible solo exactly like the real Hendrix,This Jeff guy does have an interesting slide guitar approach though.Just does not sound anything like the original.

It isn't supposed to. I don't get why people expect a cover to sound like the original. Hendrix rarely covered songs in the same way as the original... listen to Rock Me Baby and Killing Floor by Hendrix... nothing like the original. This is excellent. eric Johnson's version is just a rip off note for note... I mean he even dressed like Hendrix.

This is a great cover, and I don't think anyone was denying that. He just said the Eric Johnson version was better, which from the stand point of a guitar player I think it is too. What Eric does is pretty amazing considering Hendrix did it in the studio by reversing the tapes to make the solo, for a person to play it note for note LIVE is pretty amazing.

Hendrix played it live too. Note for note isn't amazing either, it's all tabbed out the entire solo. It just takes a small amount of practice of volume control. I admit its a great cover but it's EXACTLY the same and that was a bit of a let down. This is fantastic.
