How to Put an iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad into DFU Mode

mine doesn't snapshot (you need to time it right), but it stays in the "Slide to power off" mode. it doesn't go black or become unresponsive. please help out. thanks.

I can't get it in DFU mode, because when I open greenpois0n and I click on prepare to jailbreak, follow the instructions, it still says waiting for DFU. Any idea how to solve this?

My ipod doesnt do a thing. i cant even start it up! it will go to the apple icon when i plug it into the computer and then just sit there for as long as i let it sit there.( i once let it sit for 8 hours, nothing happens). also the computer and itunes never realizes its there. it can charge and that's it. i cant restore it cause itunes doesnt see it and asfar as i know i cant put it into DFU mode cause it never finishes booting up.

great vid... this one works great for the 32GS... basically while the phone is on hold the power and home button till it turns off; once the power is off keep holding the home and release the power button till you hear the magic happen.

When I follow these instructions exactly, I get that it's in recovery, not dfu. Redsn0w launches and gets to the stage of "please wait while your device is being jailbroken - waiting for reboot" but then it gets stuck there :(

1) You have to put it in DFU mode first [I posted this video 'cause a lot of people were having problems putting it in DFU mode]. Then you can follow the steps to get it to the white screen.
