I believe this song is one of K'naan's worst. Parallels to Eminem will only happen on a video of this song because it is truly similar. If someone tried to compare "In the Beginning" or "Fire in Freetown" to any other rapper, it would truly seem ridiculous.

However this song does stay true to K'naan as an artist. It sounds like Eminem because he is rapping like Eminem. He is not rapping like K'naan.
